I have to say that if you absolutely have to choose dating software, go with Skadate. Developing independently costs a lot, but you have more control. So its up to you. But dont make my mistake and go in cheap. I went cheap with another software, and my god it was a total joke. But I kept on going, expecting miracles that never came. After another case with abysmal communication I had enough and went to Skadate expecting the same. But its apples and oranges, you cant compare the two. The approach with custom SLA is fundamentally different. I know what and when I get and I always get it on time. I get occasional stumbles here and there, but overall, this is pretty good. I recommend it to everyone looking for starting a dating site.

The admin panel is easy to use. I got the hang of it pretty quick. Their themes are stunning, especially Mosaic - love it to bits. I was also very impressed with their support. I've read a lot of negative feedback about people saying that SkaDate is not helpful and that they charge expensive fees for support, that is simply NOT TRUE! I had to wait a few hours to get replies on my questions, but I got a friendly, helpful and professional answer every time! I would like to extend a warm thank you to Anna at SkaDate for all the time she has invested in helping me get my site up and running. Guys, you won't regret going with SkaDate. They are the best solution out there.

They resolved the issues with the apps.

The bigger issue is they need to resolve why they make apps in operatable while they do the needed updates for a newer version.

We want to say thank you to skadate team. Jane is a darling. Ask for her help if you have any problems. Always friendly and quick with responses. Installation and customization was a breeze.

I would love to tell you not to get into the online dating business as that would just mean more competition. But that being said, if you are heading in that direction, rather than a website built from the ground up, I can do nothing but recommend SkaDate. Not only was the process of getting started simple and easy, I can not say enough about their customer and support services. These alone and their willingness to help make them 5 stars! What qualifies me to recommend them, I am a former Director and CIO of a large organization.

For 300 bucks (I got it during black friday), I got exactly what I wanted - a script that I can play around with and start a site. Also, I managed to setup everything within the first month of free support, so I don't know if support changes ones the free one runs out. But yeah, they installed it for me and helped with some of the options. If I had to take a jab at this soft, it'd be complex admin panel, but with this amount of options I choose to ignore most of it and work with the stuff I need, which you learn after first few tries.

I did not have a problem with the customer service at Skadate and always had my reply by the morning. The choice of templates is good also and once you find the one for you, if it does everything you need you could be happy... BUT if you are looking to recode an existing template... that's where the trouble starts... I was passed to SODTECH a team of programmers in Kerala, India with head offices in Bangladesh and it was an absolute disaster! Luckily I agreed to pay 50% deposit of my estimated $6,000 (yes that's right six thousand USD) and the rest of the balance at completion of the job.
As an Architect I would have thought that I know how to communicate with drawings, screenshots, I even wrote a manual for them stage by stage showing what needed to be recoded, it may sound very complicated but it was simply to change a few things one of which was to put the information for the Couple's profile side by side for Him and for Her, but it created a huge communication problem.
To cut a long story short after 5 months they managed to destroy even those existing features that were already working very well in Skadate that even London in UK could no longer be found!
If you need to re-code an existing template from Skadate, think again!

I am an actual customer of Skadate. I am not a competitor. I will give a detail investigative report on their customer support, software security, access to source code, and possible bugs found. If Skadate does something good I will post it. If they do as they promise, they will get a good grade and more people will buy their products. Good service always equal more sales. Let's begin: Before I purchased the software, Skadate Pre-Sale team promised "in writing" that they will upon installation 1. Remove their branding everywhere on the script. 2. basic customization of the index/homepage (add languages, replace image, edit Search box age 18-103 instead of 20-103, one template for the homepage and a different for the internal pages). ***Nothing was done***. After I purchased the software for $400 they did not keep their promise and stated I should hire a dating site developer to have the script customized or do it myself. They suggested the "client area" has a forum and I may find answers to most of my questions. By the way they took 3 days to install the software. Remember they only give you 30 days of free support. I asked them for access to the back end (administration) so I can I play around with the code since I am familiar with programming. It has been 4 days now they have not sent my username and password for both back end and client area. I had to asked my hosting company for access to the administration area which they gave me. After finding out the URL path of the administration area, it was so simple that anyone can hack your site. The administration path should be complicated so that no one can figure it out. Major security flaw! Because the hosting company gave me access to the administration area (not the client area, skadate is suppose to do that), I was just trying to fix the homepage and a few other things to begin with. Well, there are hidden codes, (documentation) that makes it impossible to edit the script correctly. For example, I could not remove all of the branding, I could not add languages, I could not login as a user and could not do a search on the homepage. Now, 7 days have passed. I only have 3 more weeks of free support, let's see what is going to happen this week. I think they are playing games to get you pass the 1 month free support so that they can charge you $95 per month thereafter and play some more games until you are locked in at the $95 per month support for life. I hope I am wrong. Let's see if they can redeem themselves. Pre-Sales (they will tell you anything so you can buy the product). Grade: A+ before you buy. So far Skadate has been good to me. They do install for you, Great templates vs the price they're asking for them and the Admin panel is awesome. I do understand the other review in reference to not being easy to customize due to html, css code etc. and if you're not experienced in that you do have to either pay skalfa to do it or find someone that knows how. This is only if you want to modify the available template(s). Other than that I look forward to my PeeDee site to make a hell of a lot of money for me and my family
