I have used the same pharmacy for 10 years. I have had prescriptions of this particular medication several times over those years. This is the first year I had Silverscripts as my coverage. They denied this noncontroversial product because my doctor's office did not send in a lengthy justification of why she prescribed this medication. I found the Silverscript service extremely unnecessary and invasive of my right to obtain this medication. I will definitely go with a different provider when open enrollment comes around again.
Silverscript paid a total of. 01 cent for my medication last month. They bumped up cheaper meds to a higher tier to charge more. When I called to inquire I was read to from a script with words like "benchmark" overused until nothing I was told helped me to understand why they have essentially stopped paying.
Customer Service is the poorest I have ever had in my entire life from any entity I have dealt with.
Until I had Silverscript I had no problem with my prescriptions. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. My doctor's office has the same problems I do when they try to renew a prescription. I wait on the line for incredible amounts of time and then get cut off (which has happened at least a half a dozen times). I can't believe Medicare can't help in the battle with this company. You have absolutely no recourse (speaking to supervisor, getting the name of who gave you faulty information, etc). It is criminal!
A new customer with a thoroughly negative experience. Would not spit on if they were on fire. Pick another vendor.
Cashing checks, but cancelled my husband's insurance for nonpayment. Say they sent a letter which we did not receive. Hours on the phone, people who can't speak English, refused request to speak to a supervisor. Customer service is nonexistent. Finally had to involve SSA to hopefully get this resolved.
This company is terrible. Cancel my dad prescription coverage and claim they sent a letter which was never receive. But they was cashing the checks that was sent. I would never recommend them too anyone. Ripping off senior citizens
I got a letter asking for additional payment almost doubling the cost of my Albuterol inhaler after the fact. A "customer service" number was offered if I wished to question these charges. It took 4 attempts to get through to a representative to have my questions addressed. Hard to get through and then my call would be "dropped" before my question was addressed. I was finally told that "my balance was $0 and some customers had been getting such letters without actually owing money. She could offer no explanation for this and what would be done to address the problem.
I have stopped using Silverscript to purchase drugs because it is cheaper than using their benefit.
My doctor ordered an old, generic antibiotic. Silverscript bumped the drug up to a tier 3. Paid 36 dollars and change. Good RX price with various pharmacies, 12 to 22 dollars. Stay away from this company now merged with Atena. Where are the ethics here?
We called and had to wait 5 minutes so the computer could get through all the irrelevant information before we could ask the computer about filling the first time order for mail delivery. We asked immediately for a real person but the computer was confused. All we needed to know was about our first refill via mail delivery and delivery date. We finally got a real person who said there was not information about the prescriptions. The doctor's office stated they sent the prescriptions to them and told us to call Silver Scripts. Silver Scripts told us to call the doctor office and get a prescription sent. Medications are low at this time. This activity started second week in January and today is March 30 and we are still dealing with this. Do not recommend this company because they have issues. We have used CVS pharmacy for years but it appears the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. It appears they need to fix the computer and its ramblings. People should be able to push - 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, and not listen to its ramblings.
More research has revealed that not only was Silver Script bought by Aetna but Aetna is owned by CVS. Now I undersrtand why my favorite pharmacy was removed from the preferred list of providers. I am surprised the FTC permitted this trade restraining deal.
SiverScript was providing good service for us and we were very happy. Then Aetna bought the company and things wend downhill rapidly. Aetna immediately removed our pharmacy from the preferred provider list and as a result our prescription cost went through the roof. IF notification of discontinuing our favorite pharmacy was in the new definition of benefits, it must have been in the very fine print or buried in the middle of a bunch of legalese. We are now forced to use Walmart pharmacy or CVS. Shopping at Walmart has never been very high on my list because we prefer local merchants, and our only interaction with CVS turned out to be an exercise in how to let customers know they are not welcome. Next open enrollment we will be finding a different Medicare part D company.
Silverscript denies coverage for every drug first. They make you fight tooth and nail for it. They count on the fact that sick seniors will not be able to fight for their rights! When you have to pay you can NEVER get them to reimburse you for covered drugs. I almost died because they denied covered drug because it is expensive. I had to get a health care coordinator to make them cover it. I suffer residual effects for going without a life saving medication for over a week! You can never get customer service to help you. They are trained to put you off!
They used to cover most medication but last year and so far this year they didnt cover anything. When you call to get coverage information after holding for a long time your call is cut off. Look for a company that cares about their customers. Silverscipt sadly is no longer it. I have been using. Com companies on line that give reduced rate on meds free of charge even though I have silverscript.
The co pays and co insurance sometimes add up to be double and triple what you would pay using Good RX or similar service. You are paying a premium and deductible for the privilege of paying more for your medication than over the counter retail. When you call to complain they have no other good answer than to spout the company policy!
Silverscript is now handled by Aetna. Both my husband and myself have Silverscrpt Choice. When the invoices come, we pay both invoices with one check and combine invoices. Just received a letter stating that I will be disenrolled and Medicare advised. I made 2 phone calls which sent to India and spoke to 2 women named Niel and Jam. Niel told my husband that our January, 2021 check for both invoices did not clear the bank and to keep calling back every week to see if it posted. I called our bank and the check cleared 2 days prior. I called this time and spoke to Jam who said that the check did clesr and it paid my husband's account for 2 months but did not pay mine at all. I told them the 1 check paid both invoices. She told me Aetna only allows one check in payment for each invoice. I was outraged and never heard of doing business this way. Aetns is an insurance company and all insurance companies accept payment fot multiple policies. I worked for national Insurance companies for 30 years. No one called when Silverscroipt was taken over by Aetna. Horrible Customer Service. Would not allow me to speak to a Supervisor at all. One call or letter and this coulf have been avoided and sending out late payment notices and threats to disenrol a senior. Aetna, get your act together. Considering cancelling both policies.
They make a practice of denying coverage for average medications, including generics while covering brands. They actually want the insured to pay for a more expensive drug? And when you try to get help, you are shunted from department to department by non-English speaking people who have no comprehension of why you are calling. The latest thing is to be placed on hold for periods of time in excess of 30 minutes (while I was trying to get authorization for a generic that my doctor ordered; they only have the expensive brand on their formulary list). This is clearly deliberate. I've been on a single call with 2 (non-English speaking) reps and have been on hold now for forever. Total ongoing time elapsed is now 51 minutes! I'm listening to bad "hold" music for the last 20 minutes. This was a good company a few years ago, but now it is one of the worst.
Spent 45 minutes on hold with the Philppines to speak with someone who spoke very poor English. Then the connection dropped. For real issues I recommend calling Mr Merlo's office-President of CVS.
Customer service does not exist - unless you count the people who answer the phone who can't speak English - Which includes everyone who answers the phone. No one seems to speak English. If you ask for someone who can speak English they hang-up on you.
I have been with them 2 years and never had an issue they are prompt and professional. They send out prescriptions quickly and are knowledgeable if you call.
June 19,2019 - My wife and I are subscribers, have been since about 2011. I pay my bill monthly with a check, my wife pays with a monthly automatic withdrawal from her checking account. We needed to close her old account and open a new account with the same bank. Spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to find someone with the authority and competence to go into her account and change only the bank checking account number - routing number stays the same. No one at Silverscript apparently has the authority/competence to do that. Instead we have to jump through a bunch of computer/paper hoops to get this done. As a retired CPA I hate to make comparisons between business and the IRS but in this case I think it is warranted. Terrible, inefficient service.
