At the request of my pharmacy, I called customer service this morning around 8:30 am to request an override on a prescription for migraine medication. I was actively having a migraine, let that be known. I spoke with someone for almost 30 minutes. I had difficulty understanding her, because she was either located in another country, or from outside the US. She said she got my request for an override on my prescription, but the pharmacy wasn't answering her calls. I called during pharmacy hours. She said I need to call back in a few minutes. What? I argued with her that I didn't want to go through another 30 minute call. She insisted I would not have to go through the override process, as it was already approved. I immediately called my pharmacy, and they answered right away. I called Silverscript Customer service again, and got a second girl with the same difficult to understand accent, using broken English and poor grammar. After having to explain everything I already told the first girl, she said I needed to contact my doctor for emergency pills. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard! My doctor doesn't keep this medication in her office! She then said I need to pay for it out of pocket! This medication is $165 for 8 pills! I told her that's impossible! She then said there was not an override, and she must get that from some special department. I was on hold on and off for about 20 minutes, when she said it wasn't approved. I protested, because it's only 5 days before the refill, AND Silverscript doesn't pay one cent towards this drug! Then she said I got it approved for only a 30 day supply. She asked me to hold so she could call my pharmacy. She then came back to our phone call and said she spoke to the pharmacy and I can go pick up my medication. I drove to the pharmacy on my way to a doctor's appointment. I spoke to the pharmacy tech who personally spoke to Silverscript. She said the girl from my insurance company told her she didn't know how to do an override, and ask the pharmacy to give me an override! The pharmacy tech said "you're the insurance company, I can't give an override for your company." She said she just hung up. It's now after 5:00, and my pharmacy said it finally went through for an override. I will immediately look for another insurance company! I will not do business with a company whose Customer Service are out and out liars, as both girls lied to me! This is the worse paying prescription drug plan I've ever dealt with. Don't get sucked in by low premiums! I will be filing a complaint with my State's Insurance Commissioner for dishonest practices in the insurance industry.
Please be aware if you select this coverage, as AETNA co-pays for your prescriptions, you will be moved into "stage 3" of your plan and YOUR PRESCRIPTION COSTS for T3 - T5 will SKYROCKET! Of course, in my case when I spend >$7400, my prescription costs will be reduced. I suspect most of us will not come anywhere close to spending this dollar value but this is a technicality I will definitely explore with other competitors when I renew my plans later this year. It would have been nice to have understood this before signing up for the plan and at minimum a pre notification that they have moved me into "stage 3" and the "donut hole" status and my costs would be significantly higher (I pay 25% of the List Price of the prescription for T3). BEWARE!
I'm very unhappy with their ability to provide timely service. I'm constantly having to check status. And have run out meds waiting for delivery. It's anti seizure medication. They don't care about members
I sent them a ck for a year dumb move on my part when i called the person told me i have to understand it takes 2 weeks for them to process claim then 3 more business days and only open Mon thru Fri and there were holidays in there (didn't make sense to me) now i got another bill for 79.20 which i will pay so i have coverage people working there must have absolutely no training or they do not care
This is a HORRIBLE prescription plan. They denied paying for my husbands pain meds after back surgery because he had a prescription for pain meds. He had an extensive three hour back surgery and was denied the pain meds. I paid the $70, but this is ridiculous. Don't use them. Way too expensive per month with horrible coverage.
I realize that my medication is expensive. But, when I am told that my next refill will cost X amount, that is what I expect to pay. Not $400 more than the quote. And, of course, there isn't anything that can be done. Lies, lies, lies... I am happy to report that Silverscript has been fired! I hope someone at Silverscript is reading all these bad reviews. They are in dire need of some professional help!
Their CS phone line only employs people who do not understand English well. 2 calls and 35 minutes just to get my premiums deducted from my new bank. Ridiculous. And the website is unnavigable.
My grandpa had Silver Script, he passed away and they refuse to stop billing his bank account until SSA files everything and they have, they also refuse to refund. Currently on month 2 of my deceased grandpa paying $94 for a prescription he clearly isn't using... literally charging a dead man for a prescription plan which is disgusting.
I agree with the others. There is no way to get an accurate answer from customer service. They can only read the script in front of them which does not address all questions. The medicare.gov estimate for one of my drugs was $4.94 with a $47 copay. I had to pay $180. Avoid this plan. The low premiums don't make up for the rest of the headaches and inaccurate price quotes.
I had the unfortunate opportunity to have to use the customer service of Aetna SilverScript Rx Part D plan today. On and off hold for 52 minutes for a simple issue. I think the agent was in a foreign county because his english was poor. Honestly I began to feel more sorry for him and for me - he struggled to get simple answers once he put me on hold making me consider that even the support he had to look into the issue was challenging. I will never and advise any others not to choose this Part D plan. This was a simple issue if this poor agent had any real information in front of him would have been able to handle. Beyond Poor service and I advise not signing up for this plan if you are hunting for 2023. I understand that CMS does surveys of customer experience but sadly I know of no one who has even been contacted. If you, CMS were to read this please hear this loud & clear. Allowing them to participate in Medicare Part D plans is doing a great disservice to your mission. There has to be more to what you do than collecting information. Who actions these poorly performing plans? I see them year after year! Stay away consumers!
They dont list the higher tier 1 meds I've bought. They only list the $2 and $3 cheap meds. I can never reach my deductible, although I have paid enough out of pocket to cover deductible. I'll be finding another.
Have not paid one dime in benefits in the three years I've had Silver Script. Got a bill from them that said I owed $11.78 for an "adjustment". When I called and went through their 10 minutes of waiting I finally got someone who spoke poor English and could not give a satisfactory answer to why I owed them the bill. No more! I'm done with'em! Give'm minus 5 stars! Need personnel who can speak plain English so us Senior Citizens with bad hearing can understand what they're saying. This company is a RIP OFF!
The only good thing I can say about them is I get two generic common drugs for $1.00 each (were free until this year). Every other prescription has been refused with vague explanations. They offer recommendations on other cheaper drugs that are not at all useful for my conditions (and don't even know what those conditions are), requiring calls to my provider and long wait times to get the scrips filled. I finally gave up. Will drop them as soon as I can.
We have recently gone on this plan and applied well before the commencement date. Nevertheless, they still have not issued the Rx card so we can fill my wife's badly needed prescriptions. We have been told that we can pay for the prescription and get reimbursed, but we have no trust in this company to reimburse. I signed up with Wellcare for my plan and they were very timely in issuing the card ahead of time and covering the prescriptions. There is a world of difference between these companies.
If we were to do this over again, we would NOT insure with SilverScript. I gave them a rating of "1" only because a "0" was not available.
I've had SS Choice for years and they covered Eliquis at about $35/month after copay met. In 2022 they completely dropped Eliquis so I got the doc to prescribe Xarelto listed as Tier 2 at $25/month as Tier 2 drugs were listed in formulary. That didn't happen and I was told by phone that Tier 2 is now 36% copay, which works out to a lot more than $25/mo. For 30 day supply. I guess I'll be more careful on what plan and my choice of drugs in the future.
I have VA insurance & Medicare auto-enrolled me WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE! Aetna wants me to pay them for insurance I DID NOT REQUEST!
I have had to pay hundreds of dollars (entire) costs for vaccinations and boosters with very little going to the deductible. I will be paying into the thousands of dollars by the time I supposedly meet the deductible. Based on my experience, it is the worst drug plan I have ever had.
I have to take thyroid replacement. The box with 10 left accidentally got thrown away. I called for an over ride replacement. That started a 6 hour phone saga where I was told the "senior team" was working on it. Left on hold for 30min-1hr each time. Told twice it was approved. Then told by the pharmacy the code thy issued didn't work. Then told they were having technical difficulties. Then put back to start the whole thing again. Now it's almost 8:30pm. Second day of this. I'm out of medication now for the third day and having symptoms. This last person said they still can't get it fixed and could just go in on Monday and pay cash. Then said they would call me back tomorrow at 9am and try again. I have nerves lost my meds so I was in shock that they played this kind of game with their clients needing to replace lost medication. Never had an issue when they were Silver Script. What a mess! If you have to sign up for part D Medicare you might want to look elsewhere these guys have serious issues with their software and the people who are supposed to be trained to handle any exception that occurs.
After being disconnected by their customer service 3 yes THREE times today, I still can't get my full prescription refilled. They seem to know better than my doctor. They kept bringing up how much it cost... which I keep telling them I didn't care that I just wanted my prescription filled. If one of the 4 blood clots in my lungs go to my heart or brain, my death will be on their hands... not that they care. Since I am on Medicare, I will have to wait to change plans but you can bet I will.
By far the worst group ever. Had to have a judge force them to cover my treatment last year, then Medicare pulled some strings and changed the rules to get them out of it. Now they're doing the same thing for another treatment. Disgusting and evil.
