I send my medical books back with postage paid by the company, and I get a check for the books very quickly. The website is easy to navigate, and you know exactly what they will pay for the books you are sending back, so no surprises. I am very happy with their service!
I scanned about 50 books and keep getting a message "we are not buying this book at this time". Finally I got one, then another and finally after about 150 books I collected 20 to send. Pressed "finish" and got an error message, needed to log in again, but my cart was empty, so needed to scan them one more time. Easy to print the label, dropped off at Fed Ex. After few days got paid $8.49. So I calculated almost 3 hr to do the process. I think I will pass (>$3 per hours!). I will drop about 300 books I have to Salvation Army or Library, I have better things to do, just not worth it for me.
I wish they was option of no star. This is a big scam. I put a ISBN number to sell one the quote was $5 and same number to by $26 what the heck. I'll give my books away for free than do this sh####.
I sent them some books. This one was new and I got this message from them: "Sembrava bellezza -- We could not accept because it is not in very good physical condition." Obviously, it is not true.
They have implemented a $5 charge for shipping when you sell books/dvds to them.
However it states this nowhere on their website.
Don't waste your time. Try eaglesaver.com or decluttr.com
Sent them an Organic Chemistry binder over 300 pages. No dog-eared pages, no writing, all pages intact. It was in good to excellent condition. Wish I had taken pictures. Original cost was $181. They offered under $19. After I shipped it I received an email that said the book, in there estimate, was in "rough condition." NOT TRUE. A biology binder was thrown away because it was not in perfect condition. But, Organic Chemistry was. They wanted $3.99 to return the binder or they would recycle it. I think they probably sold it for a goodly amount. Scammers, in my opinion. Learned that lesson. Never again
Do NOT use this site! They will scam and take your books and will never send you money. I still have not received any payment for my books. I would not recommend sellbackyourbook.com
Don't do it, it seems legit when you go to sellyourbooksback.com website everything looks REAL they even give up update emails once you put in your books information, i spoke to two different people by email and they never answer any of my question about my paypal they purposely answer what they felt like answering instead of my main concerns were am i going to get paid, the had two different amount once i check the status once $18 plus change then when i did it a 2nd time it went from $19 i asked which would i get paid they informed me the most recent one ok, but my package was delivered a Wednesday it's now the next week and i still have yet to get paid and i don't think they would pay me, I should've came here to read the reviews before i drop off these good freakin books. DON"T do it I'm try to report them BBB DONT DO IT SELL YOUR BOOKS ELSEWHERE SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM! Company
Save yourself and use another app or website. This company is a joke! They start off by giving you the impression of good exceptions, then totally low-ball you when you actually go to sell. The world would be a better place if there weren't scam companies like this. They have no ethics when to comes to their customers!
Plus, they tell me they can't link my PayPal because it is not "verified"... which is very very very odd and suspect since I literally just used my PayPal to make a purchase this morning, and my PayPal account has been in good standing for over 10 years. Save yourself the aggravation and sell you books to a legit company!
Lastly, you can totally tell they are not legit due to the fact that on their website they boast a 4.5 star rating - but if you look ANYWHERE online else they only get a rating of 1.5 - 2 stars. I guess honesty and integrity are not a part of their business culture.
I've inquired about every book on our book shelf including Barack Obaba's A Promised Land. Every book--more than 100--were rejected. I imagine they do buy books, just not best sellers.
18 cents or. Less to buy back your books and it has to come to. 7.50 to send them to make the money that's like selling 100 used books can u say donate it to goodwill or just keep the book one word ripoff
You are scanning your trade in books all day. You fill up a box and arrange the books nicely. You still have room for a few more books so you scan a few more. And just like that, your cart is magically empty. Yes, they will indescriminately emply your cart at any moment. Don't think things are safe even for a few hours. So thinking it's a glitch (It's not) you unpack your entire box and rescan. Gee, suddenly many of the books that were in there are no longer being accepted and suddenly the price dropped on the others. I really feel like they look at what is in peoples carts and make adjustments. They have no consideration for peoples time and I am so disgusted with sellbackyourbook. What they do is shady. I switched to ziffit but sadly ziffit just started to do the same thing.
I was new to this concept and was somewhat excitingly looking forward to selling my books. I painstakingly entered all of the ISBN numbers which took awhile due to the number of books. I finally finish and hit the sell button and I was shocked, absolutely shocked. 11 cents, 8 cents, 9 cents, 7cents, 11cents, 10cents, several of which I was told that they are not buying. Are U Kidding Me
Still usuable by all means but no longer my go to trade site. Why? There are other sites now that offer more $, accept more titles and have a better interface. Most importantly, my main drawback from sellbackyourbook is i am afraid to put things in their cart. Before the day is over I'm alerted that certain books in my cart are no longer available for trade in or the price has decreased. It happens so fast, I feel as though as soon as I scan something in my cart, they check it to make sure it is something they want. I do not fee secure placing orders with them. I don't leave anything in the cart because of that and process my trades right away before they can change the price. When I'm using my desk top to trade with sellbackourbook, the isbn search field forgets im there and i have to keep clicking back inside the box with my mouse. Annoying. This is just constructive criticism, they pay promptly and accurately.
I sent a Dvd, brand new, cello wrapped, they said it was in poor condition, one dvd a turn around from them, several books poor condition, all perfect. All to not pay me $10.00
I tried to register and the system said I didn't have a bank account linked to my paypal account. I did and I got the impression the system was a scam. They offered 24 for my book but then when I tried to confirm and seal the deal, they system said it could not because I did not have a verified bank account connected to my paypal account. It felt like they didn't really want to go through with the offer and it was just a scam for my email and paypal account info.
They will give you the highest quote and then scam you with some BS excuse. You can try to email them back requesting proof of damage and they will not get back to you. I've sold to other bookstores online and never had an issue. I will not be using them again. Scammers!

I bought my first book from this company and it was a good transaction. The price was reasonable, the book arrived in a timely manner and it is in good condition.
I was only offered twelve cents for a book! Guess that means I will just donate to Goodwill so they can make some money! I do NOT recommend this as s way of getting rid of your old books!
