Buyer Beware!
January 2, 2015

Buyer Beware! Do not buy anything from the seller ETRADE on the Sears website! They advertise new items and then send Refurbished items and will not return them! Please share and pass this information on so this does not happen to another person. Again the seller is ETRADE!

I just had the worst shopping experience of my life at sears. I tried to order your wii u set that was advertised online yesterday for $59.99, but the site would not let me place an order. I tried contacting you through the live chat option and was connected to Amy K. She then told me that it was no longer available online and that i could get one from the store for the same price or get a rain-check there if they were also out of stock. So i went to the Sears at South Hills Village in Upper Saint Clair PA expecting to either walk out of the store with a system or at least a rain-check. But when i got there no one was at the register to help. I ended up waiting 15 minuets before a employee finally called for Chris, the electronics "specialist" to help and then was forced to wait another 15 minuets for him to show up only to tell me i need to talk to his manager Robert. After more waiting i finally talked to Robert, who was extremely rude when speaking, he flat out said he wouldn't honor the online price and that he would not give a rain-check. When i asked him why he laughed and told me that Amy K, from the online help line, had lied to me about everything and that i should leave. Every employee i talked to today have been either unhelpful, inattentive, rude, liars, or just outright hostile to their customers. I want to know who lied, was it Amy K or Robert? I want to know how a store can do business when employees like Chris are absent and others refuse to help. And most of all i want to know why you would advertise a product online and then refuse to honor the price at the register. After this experience i will never shop at sears again and i will advise all i know to avoid this store like the plague. The only good thing to come of this upsetting day is that i can report the likes of manager Robert, electronics specialist Chris, and online help Amy K (none of whom would give their full names) so that you may take proper action against them and save another customer from this nightmare. Here is a link to the item i went through this mess for, it would be nice if someone out there would honor the price as marked. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/Compare?storeId=*******&catalogId=*******&partNumber_1=*******000P&partNumber_2=SPM*******120&prodCount=2

I made a purchase through the Sears.ca, what a nightmare.
I never received a conformation of my order,
When I called the customer service (which is useless) they had no record of my order so I have to replace my order again.

I asked to have my order delivered to my home because of the size of the item I can not fit it in my vehicle, and it was rerouted to the nearest pick up location, which is 45 minutes from my home.
When I called to have to shipped to my home the "customer service" agent said that it was not possible. Then she said it would be $65 charge if I wanted it done, when I said yes she laugh that I would pay $65 to have it delivered.

I will NEVER order anything else from Sears.ca, or Sears.com.
This was a birthday gift I ordered and it is now 3 weeks late for the birthday, I ordered the gift 6 weeks ago. My purchase was Tennis Table and cost after re-routing and additional cost around $360 from a sale price of $240.

Thank you sears.ca, sears.com, and sears and general for total disappointment.

Just spent 9.5 hours (and countless phone calls) waiting for a service tech with an appoint that was supposed to between 8am and noon. Excuse after excuse. Finally after 7th phone call got told tech wasn't coming and I had to get in the back of line of Sears repair customers to reschedule - they can 't come fix my washer for another 3 days. BEWARE! I would have given 0 stars if sitejabber let me.

Two weeks ago I bought a King sized mattress and box springs so that my husband who is dying from COPD can rest comfortably. I was told it would be delivered no later than today, September 19th and could possibly be delivered as early as September 12th. I was also told that I would receive notification 24 hours prior to the delivery. The 12th came and went so I knew that was not going to happen but last night on the 18th I got a voicemail saying that the delivery would be made between 5 and 7 pm on the 19th, or the next day which is today. I had some friends come over and help this morning and removed the bed from our bedroom so that it would be ready for the delivery. Then at 11:30 AM this morning I get a call (just 5 hours before the delivery window) saying that the delivery was postponed and left a number to call. I called the number and they say it will be another week at the earliest. Now what the he! Am I supposed to do? I have a dying husband and because of your ineptitude he has nowhere to sleep. THAT IS INEXCUSABLE! This after my husband has spent over 7,000 at this lousy company in the past year. I have no idea what we are supposed to do now, but you can bet this story will be posted anywhere on the web I can put it, and also the local news if they are willing to air it. You people should be ASHAMED for the treatment of your customers. This is unbelievable.

They take pains to resolve customer complaints in a fair way.

I was overcharged (Sears is a big bureaucracy and does make mistakes). I complained and their representative did a careful job of collecting the facts.

In the end, I did not agree with their conclusion, but I have never seen a big company take such pains to do the right thing. Some companies will easily yield to customer complaints (good PR; helps keep customers loyal), and other companies will never give an inch, once they have your money. Sears is willing to employ people to make the fairest, most reasonable resolution of customer complaints.

This web site is broken in so many places it's obvious that they do little to no QA whatsoever. When I login to the primary "ShopYourWay" site and try to update my account details, I receive a "cannot send message." (WTF?) When I login to the Sears credit card site and try to add a mobile phone number, the page validates the phone number as if it were an email address! Pathetic (I wish I could post a snapshot of this blatant error). It's amazing the Sears web site handles purchases at all.

If anything goes wrong with your product Sears is a horror to deal with. I have never seen such terrible customer service. I was put on hold and transferred for three hours, none of the people I talked to could help. During this time I was hung up on three times while they were transferring my call and the whole process would start again. The only way that I ever got help was complaining online which got me assigned to a case manager. Just avoid the hassle and order from somewhere else.

Beware of Sears.com if the item is fulfilled by a "marketplace" vendor. One month after I was charged I still have no shipment and no refund from Sears.com or HNZONE (their 3rd party vendor). 2 emails and 3 calls to customer service have not worked yet, only that they are "researching" the order. The review on their site is being "reviewed", but the truth will be shown here.

I ordered a pair of gloves and got received only one glove. It took me 3 months and a lot of phone calls and emails to get my refund. They used 3rd party warehouse to send this item. I think that was a scam, done on purpose so customer after a long time of fighting for many would give up and they win.

If you are trining to order online through sears.com try it be delivered to store, not straight to your house. Worse comes to worst, you can blame the store and write afeedback on google maps. I bet they would be pist off.

Ordered a drive pulley for a Whirlpool washer. (from Sears) They said they had it. Paid and waited. Three days later they sent email, cannot get it. They sell the washer. Went to amazon and ordered. Got it in 2 days. For 1/3 the cost. Again amazon has been the best site for getting products. At lease Sears did a refund to my credit card in 2-3 days. Partselect.com which I used first, I'm still waiting for a refund from 10-20-2013. They are the worst site to buy from.

I purchased the full retail version of Microsoft Office Professional 2010 from EWPLUSOFT via the Sears Marketplace. You really want to avoid purchasing software from EWPLUSOFT since they provide developer's licenses rather than retail licenses (called Office Professional Plus 2010). Microsoft will not activate developer licenses without a developer's subscription. I have no idea of the cost this subscription since I am a home user.

I sent 8 e-mails asking EWPLUSOFT for a disc with the retail version of the software or a full refund. EWPLUSOFT sent 7 e-mails simply telling me that I needed to download the software from their website "to fix the problem" in lieu of retail disc. In the 8th e-mail, EWPLUSOFT finally acknowledged that they will neither provide a disc with the retail version of Microsoft Office Professional 2010 nor provide a refund.

Again, you really want to avoid doing business this Marketplace seller!

Not impressed
June 4, 2013

Not impressed. Bought an item online. Never got a shipping confirmation. After two weeks I emailed them and they said they didn't know but they would contact the seller (?) I'm guessing they do what amazon does and they don't fulfill orders. Two weeks later they refunded the money. Um, thanks, but I wanted the item, not to wait a month to get nothing :(

This was the first time I made a purchase from Sears and its certainly my last. I made a purchase on May 1st received 2 emails stating that my order is being verified and processed. Two days later checked my order only to see that my order was still being processed, contacted customer service to see what was the hold up only to be told that they can't find my order (mind you they charged my credit card but have the nerve to tell me they can't find my order) and that I need to contact them within a day or two to get an update.

Contacted them within the allotted time only to be told the same nonsense that they can't find my order. From the fist time they told me they couldn't find my order I told them I wanted to cancel, but they couldn't cancel it because they couldn't find it (lies) the greatest part is they apparently have a zero cancellation system. Yup! So if you place an order and you want to cancel it you don't have that option, you have to return the item. So even if they did in fact find my order they had zero intention of cancelling it.

When I started to really make a huge deal by calling, emailing and live chatting, like magic I received an email stating that my order has been shipped. I had every intention of returning it because such ridiculous and unprofessional service doesn't deserve rewarding but after taking into account that more of my time will be required to deal with these people on top of the time it would take them to refund my credit card I've decided to keep the item when it arrives. Almost forgot apparently like magic again the review that I wanted to post just wouldn't go through, I got about four error messages before I threw my hands up. I'm guessing they don't want future customers knowing the truth about what goes on.

I'll be sticking with amazon.com some items maybe more expensive but I've never had a problem with the numerous orders I've placed with them, it may cost me a bit more but I would pay more money than deal with this kind of fiasco again. Also I'm certainly more aware about policies when it comes to cancelling an order, I don't have the option to cancel you can't have my money.

Sears has so many holding companies and Marketplace Merchants, aka, International Merchants, that you don't know which company you're buying from. I purchased an item and they took my money immediately, but never shipped the item. The Marketplace Merchant who ended up with my order had a non-working phone number, assigned a bogus sales check number to try and make it look like the item had been shipped, then he closed his online store and I was out my money. The thief's store is Choice Avenue. Sears couldn't have been more uncooperative refunding my money. Their Customer Service is nothing more than lip service and stall tactics. I had to file a dispute with my credit card holder and cancel my credit card. I had auto payments set up on the card, so the ripple effect wasted even more of my time. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, Consumer Fraud Bureau. There are THOUSANDS of complaints on Sears... over 12,000 filed with the BBB in the last 3 years. Think twice before ordering from Sears.com! My order turned into a 3-week nightmare trying to get my stolen money back. Sears is not the reputable company it used to be.

Getting lots of reports that when you buy a product from Sears that arrives broken, breaks down or is just plain NOT what you ordered, you have just entered the first level of the 10 levels of customer service hell! If you call for repairs, the techs have you sit at home all day and never show up and tell you that they did. You can go weeks and months round and round with them and if you get em too pissed, the "human" customer service agents just hang up on you. So if you're looking for new appliances or a snow blower, your best bet is to go ANYWHERE but Sears. Once they get your money, they no longer care if you spend another dime there, which is odd for a company that size, but here we are. If you don't mind messed up orders (if you get them at all) and if you can afford to wait weeks or months for a refund that ultimately may never come, then you may want to take a chance, but based on what I'm seeing and hearing on their social media pages, Sears is the LAST PLACE ON EARTH you want to shop for ANYTHING! You've been warned.

I ordered 3 of a certain product from sears
November 4, 2012

I ordered 3 of a certain product from sears. They only sent 1, I called and they said they would send the other, 2 weeks later I called back and they said they didn't have the others. This issue was i couldn't use 1 without the other 2 so what i received was worthless and they not only told me they would send the others, they never contacted me to tell me they couldn't. Good custom service can be so hard to find!
