I give Stratford Career Institute ZERO STARS
April 12, 2024

I would give Stratford Career Institute zero stars if I could. Their courses are all subjective reading and not well written. Their test questions are not about the main points of the reading material. It makes no sense!

At the start of this course, which I am still paying for and will slog my way though just for that reason, I considered another course but changed my mind before receiving any materials. There cancellation policy sucks. I had not received the materials but since it had been after 5 days, I owed them $100. So stupid.

Don't go here. The affordability is not worth it if you don't learn anything

It said it was accredited, but they are not.
The exams and testing and stuff they give you is old. The material is okay, but have tons of WRONG answers. You put the correct information in and even on the EXAM you click the answers and they will then pick other ones that you didn't click. It happened more than a couple of times. I even wrote down the answers on paper and clicked send and they mixed up answers.

DO NOT fall for their BS scam.

I took the sewing and dressmaking course and completed all of the 5 modules for it. It's easy enough to self study but it's extremely dated. Only 2/3rds of the material is applicable and that's being generous. If I wasn't taking this course for recreation I'd ask for a refund. The 4th and fifth module is virtually useless. The material is so old they reference the yellow pages and old market info like department stores and things of that nature. The first three modules have useful info on sewing terms and learning about fabrics so it's worth it if you're looking for an intro to those terms but honestly the rest of it is pretty much useless in the current market. Especially when it comes to their suggestions about fashion and business. There's also a section on interior design which seems like it's misplaced. There's no need to insert that into this course aside from suggesting how to sew a pair of curtains and even then there could've been a pattern and suggested styles for different curtains. There's just no need to know the different types of chairs and interior design styles especially when they're so outdated. Honestly not worth the money but a good introduction. I kept the course and finished it just to keep the first part of the book with the terms and sewing tips. Even then the tips aren't easy to follow since you're just reading how to sew from a book there aren't any good follow step by step rules if you're a beginner. You have to have sewn before and followed sewing directions before to understand. Either that or you need to reference the book every step of the way. You're better off watching the free youtube videos on how to sew bags and simple clothes. They'll introduce the fabric and sewing terms in a way more digestible format than this book or course ever does. The questions on the test are also word for word from the book so it's easy to get good grades but you're just memorizing material and not actually learning anything unless you learn by memorization and reading... This course should be $100 and not $500. Save your money and spend it on practice fabric.

Going through PI courses
February 29, 2024

So in my opinion although this institute isn't accredited it still gives you useful information towards becoming successful in your chosen field and still provides you books related to your chosen field, and is great for students who work better doing there own personal research. I'm not upset at all with the service so far and this is my first month paying for the service and I did receive my first book explaining actually accurate information on Law Enforcement. I did only leave 3 stars though because the institute isn't actually accredited. But at the same time it isn't like they keep that a secret or anything if you read through their website.

Their programs are not accredited anywhere in Canada and even employers are not accepting. One I noticed it's not worth I stopped payment after paying 400$. Then once I asked refund they are making stories and asking balance payment. Then they provide your all sensitive details to a third party company and they do harassments. Finally, they put a debt report to credit bureau and it's going to harm desperately your credit history. These guys act like thug gangsters when you call to resolve the issues, no professionalism at all and please be aware about them before face struggles that I faced with them

My niece is an inmate at federal BOP. Stratford markets to the prisoners as a qualified educational source to reduce recidivism. During Covid the BOP stopped offering in house classes so she had to resort to Private educational sources. Stratford advertised in the prison and gave her hope. She finished the course and found out that Stratford School DOES NOT QUALIFY to credits earned to reduce her rate. We paid $500 for this course and it was a waste. False hope, false advertising and very misleading towards what is a very vulnerable audience, prisoners.

I have a high school diploma from Scitrainig. Unfortunately, it is worthless and counts for nothing for employment or further education. Please do your homework and research before signing up. Lesson Learned. Now I am pursuing my GED so I can further my education.

My experiences with Stratford Career Institute have ALWAYS been great. In the past I have taken 3 courses with them: 1. Creative Writing. 2. Security/Police Sciences. 3. High School. I just enrolled for their Medical Billing Specialist course. I chose to get my books in the mail instead of totally online. I do extensive personal homework about anything that involves paying out my money for. I have always known that Stratford Career Institute is NOT accredited. I have chosen to take courses with them anyway. My goal is ALWAYS to learn more about the specific course subject. I know not to entirely depend on my diplomas to help me to get a job & etc. I have also earned a regular accredited college degree which is great for actual hands - on experience. Accredited colleges are important but are much more expensive & leads to student loan/s debt. Stratford Career Institute has always genuinely cared about me & my success in the course I choose, & is much more affordable. I graduated with an Associate's degree in the Medical Administrative Assistant program at my local accredited college. Because I have forgotten A LOT of what I learned at my local college, I decided to enroll in Stratford's Medical Billing Specialist course. It does NOT bother me that Stratford Career Institute is NOT accredited because I am simply needing to refresh & update things I learned in the Medical Office field. My advice is: Do your homework & decide if Stratford Career Institute works for you. I am looking forward to getting my books (which they ship out to you as you progress through your course, unless you decide to do your course online). I am looking forward to having another great learning experience with Stratford Career Institute too!

Every education cost. Some colleges and institutes are not accredited because others dont accept those types of schools. Not saying its a bad school
But you can use the degree to gain a long term career and reach your goal. Three schools so far that are best institutes are U.s. career institute Stratford institute and Penn foster school is well known. But Stratford has lowest rate price of charging because of the instructors. If you cant afford right now don't make any commitment to these schools. They are still going to be here for you as long as they are reaching this goal.If you can and want a career, I wish everyone in success in which ever way you go. Everything cost but the money worth is validated. Keep up the success in any school you attend cause nothing is quite easy and no its not going to knock on your door. Thank you
