Riding the crypto hype I invested my savings into a crypto mining platform that turned out to be a Ponzi scheme. I got in contact with Scam Doctor through word of mouth, and I saw they had decent reviews. They promised I would get reimbursed after 2 months, as my case was typical and I made plans accordingly. However, that wasn't the case. My bank turned their backs on me, then they had other tactics, but we would hit dead end after dead end. Eventually we pressed my bank with the Ombudsman and it took my bank ages to comply with the decision. I've received NZD22k which is more than a half of my initial loss, but it took way, way too long.

My wife wasn't paying much attention to it, but another colleague joined the whole operation and it worked. He started earning some extra quids, and so my wife told me all about it. I thought why not give it a go and we went for a couple of drinks with the guy. He introduced us to Watermine, and it all seemed too good to pass. We started depositing small amounts, like 200 CAD. However when we saw figures rising we went for more. All in all we deposited 23k CAD and the account showed we were supposed to have over 60k CAD, but when we tried to withdraw the money we couldn't and soon the site disappeared. We were in shock. Other colleagues had the same problem. It took us a while but we came to the conclusion we were all horribly scammed. My wife wouldn't let it lie and we got in touch with Scam Doctor. They assured us that we had a solid case and that we could get our money back. We are in the middle of the process so wish us luck.

I've been into crypto for quite some time, and I think I developed a decent portfolio. In the end I decided to hire a professional assets retrieval company. I wouldn't starve by losing that money, but I prefer to get it back. I chose Scam Doctor and they explained I had a strong case. To my surprise after 3 months they got almost an entire sum back. I didn't have any issues paying their fees because I got the money that could've been gone for good.

It is very difficult to get scammed but it gets a lot easier once you have someone fighting on your behalf.
