This company promised to complete my recovery in 3 months. It has taken 6 months and numerous follow-ups with zero updates / communication for them to tell me that they can't recover the data- conveniently on the day I press for more information about my case. And they're slapping me with a $40 bill to return my phone without my data. I'm furious.

I sent a Solid State Drive to Salvage Data. It took them 3 weeks to assess the drive, not 24-48 hours they claim, and then I was told no data was recoverable. The Solid State drive was not physically damages and it could be connected to a personal computer. The data should have been recoverable. I do not believe Salvage Data actually took the time to diagnose and recover data. Instead they charged me $40 to return the Solid State Drive to me which was a complete surprise and they do not tell you this when you open a case with them. DO NOT USE, GO TO ANOTHER VENDOR.

These people use your desperation of wanting to recover close to heart memories and photos to charge you thousands of dollars. They are truly morally wrong for the way they treat customers. Knowing people are desperate to recover such important memories, they try to leach as much out of you as they can. I was quoted over 5000 dollars for the quickest option to fix a clicking noise in my hard drive. I don't expect any regular person to have that kind of money especially if they are supporting others. Wesley Bowen my sales representative was especially unhelpful and didn't respond to a single message or call of mine. On top of that after waiting two weeks after paying for my hard drive to get shipped back to me, I called asking where it was and a woman answered the phone as if I was the biggest inconvenience to her in the world. I truly wish this company would go out of business for how rude they treated me.

I have a drive that stopped working all of a sudden. So I started looking around for data recovery places and stumbled upon Salvage Data. A couple of things why I will not use them now:
- My evaluation was done and I never heard from any of them. I had to reach out to inquire about it weeks later to get an answer.
- I was told that I would have to pay $40 to get my device back. If I was provided this upfront, I would've continued to look and gone somewhere local. I was only looking for a mere quote, but now have to pay to get my drive back. How is that fair on the customer's part.

Wanted 1400 dollars just to recover some photos, and then on top of that wanted 40 dollars to ship a tiny hard drive back to me!

First off, I'm a tech. I've worked with computer technology since the 90s. I sent my drive to Salvage Data because I just don't have the time or a static free environment to work on this myself. I know the platter is the problem with the drive because it fell from my desk and hit the wall. I can hear it whirring.

The superfluous tech jargon that Justin the tech used to describe the problem with my drive was ridiculous and irrelevant. The only reason I think you used all this jargon was so that you could charge me $2000 to get my data back. Using a lot of high tech jargon doesn't make you sound smart, it's just condescending conspicuous communication (see I can do that too).

I just tried to get a copy of the invoice and because I'm paying $40 to have the drive shipped back (don't believe them when they say there's no charge, you still have to pay shipping to have your drive returned), they immediately removed the quote... that's very suspicious.

I would like to warn others out there. This company has a lot of positive reviews and yes they may get your information back, but they are WAY OVERCHARGING you. BEWARE!

The technician did an excellent job of explaining the data recovery process. He collaborated with us to complete our task and recover our data from a damaged drive. Overall, I had a positive experience with Salvage Data Recovery.

From start to finish it was a very enjoyable experience. When I first called the person I talk to is very pleasant on the phone and also very informative, telling me the process restoring my data and how much it would cost at ending on what would need to be done. I dropped off my broken hard drive and I got a email just a few days later telling me what was wrong and what it would take to restore the data if possible. I authorized to work and they had the data restored the next day. They were extremely professional and very pleasant to deal with. I don't want to have my hard drive crash again but if it does happen again I will definitely call Salvage Data!

I would give this company 0 stars if I could. Was excited to find a company that would retrieve my information for a 'reasonable' price. My account rep, George, was great at first. Very responsive/receptive and willing to work with me, but little did I know I was being set up for a BIG disappointment. Once they received my old 4GB flash drive, that's when ALL COMMUNICATION STOPPED! I stressed that I wasn't in a hurry, just keep me up to date on progress. I NEVER received any updates after about the first month. When i did call in, around months 3,5, and 6, I always received the same excuse that they were working on it and should be done soon. After 9 months, I finally decided to give up, and magically once I placed the request to return my flash drive, it was done. I didn't feel good giving this company my business, to stuck to the refund/return plan. Also note, you don't have to pay $40 for the return, you can also pay for your own label, and email to the POC for less. I stress to you, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DON'T KEEP THEIR PROMISE AT ALL. Not sure how they even stay in business with customer service like this.

They were able to recover all of my data. They were also very friendly! I would use them again and highly recommend them.
