S this what consumer transparency looks like in international real estate deals? I'm sharing a personal experience in the hope of raising awareness – especially for foreign buyers dealing with well-known real estate brands abroad. In May 2025, I entered into a land purchase process in Greece through the RE/MAX Metron branch. At the beginning, I was told that the brokerage fee would be €2,480 – a figure mentioned briefly and without written documentation in English. I agreed based on that understanding.Only later did it become clear – without any signed agreement in English or detailed breakdown – that the €2,480 applied per plot, even though I am a single buyer purchasing four adjacent plots in one unified transaction. The total fee demanded: €9,920 – which amounts to over 11.6% of the total purchase price (€85,000) – with no additional services provided per plot. I reached out to the official RE/MAX legal channels and forwarded the issue to Greek consumer protection authorities to better understand whether such a charge meets ethical and professional standards. I'm sharing this here to ask: Is this considered fair and transparent brokerage practice for cross-border buyers? Should any buyer be charged over 11% commission on a single transaction without clear disclosure? If anyone has encountered a similar experience – I'd be grateful to hear your *******@RE/MAX *******@RE/MAX Greece
