Reading Plus is the digital equivalent of a torturous homework assignment that never ends. If you're seeking an educational tool that turns reading into an unbearable chore, congratulations, you've found it.

From the moment I logged in, I was met with a barrage of soulless, monotonous passages that sucked the joy out of reading faster than a vacuum cleaner on high power. The stories are dry, bland, and lack any real substance. Imagine reading a 2nd-grade textbook for hours, but without the fun of actually learning anything. The material is so uninspired that even the most avid readers would likely abandon their books for something else — even laundry.

As if the content wasn't bad enough, the interface is a nightmare. It's clunky, unintuitive, and feels like it was designed by a committee of robots who've never heard of user experience. Navigating through the app is frustrating, and the endless barrage of questions after every passage feels like a twisted version of school standardized testing. There's no time to reflect or actually absorb anything — just answer, click, move on, rinse and repeat.

The "progress tracker" is a cruel joke. Rather than celebrating small victories, you're bombarded with charts and graphs that make you feel like you're being judged on your every move. If you're behind schedule (which you will be), the app has this way of making you feel guilty, like you're failing some invisible teacher.

But the worst part? The reading comprehension tests that are inexplicably timed. You're given a limited amount of time to answer questions that are often vague, misleading, or downright confusing. If you make the mistake of thinking critically about the material, forget it — the clock is ticking, and if you don't spit out an answer within seconds, you're penalized.

In short, Reading Plus is the educational equivalent of having your will to learn slowly drained away by a system that is neither engaging nor remotely enjoyable. If you're a student, this will likely make you hate reading more than you ever have. If you're a parent or educator, you'll be disappointed in how little it actually teaches.

Avoid at all costs. If you want to foster a love of reading, this app is not the way to go. Instead, try literally anything else — even staring at a blank wall for hours would be a more productive use of time.

Used this for 2 days and also i am in 7th grade i get good grades and am in top of my class yet when i'm reading the texts like 1 paragraph it says i'm going to fast so i slow down even then it says im going too fast and then it blocks me and my teacher makes me reset i already know all the answers for my assignment now but i have been reset 3 TIMES in 2 DAYS like wtf. Also i bet reading+ uses ai for the texts with how inhuman they is the owner even human?this is a genuine question because it doesn't seem like it was made for humans it looks like something made for a different species.btw this wouldve been verified but this website wont accept pngs

There is this one nerd in my school who is just too obsessed with it. If dreambox never made this then she would be a normal person. And im telling you im honest that if the founder of dreambox came back she or he would not be very happy

Reading plus was my primary torture. Every single day I scrolled through the same basic $#*! stories just to end up reading one and wanting to hang myself with a Chromebook charger. If you're a teacher on this app reading these I recommend never to use it never mind inflict it onto your students. Reading plus is just as bad as Sparx and if you disagree, your opinion isn't wanted

I have to do it for school, and I actually makes me want to unalive myself. It's so annoying, and doesn't help me with anything at all except keeping my grade up in ELA.

This app teaches nothing to anyone,some of its stuff is not even ALLOWED to be taught in schools and is completely awful in tons of teachers,parents,and children's eyes and it just sucks.Going on the topic of some of it is not allowed to be taught,there is teachings of religion and your not allowed to teach religion in schools.My school is currently stuck with it and people are still not doing very well on the tests.please fix your app.

Reading plus is apparently supposed to make you read faster. The G-rate made me only read slower overtime, and the questions for the story is more stupid than all the things going on in the world right now, the only good thing is the vocabulary. The vocabulary is boring but it's faster to do and there's tricks to bypass if you get a question wrong. YES, THERE ARE SOME FLAWS TO THE VOCAB, THERE ARE LITERALLY MULTIPLE DEFINITIONS FOR A WORD. READING PLUS IS BYFAR THE WORST THING SCHOOLS USE. IF I HAD TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST READING PLUS IS MORE BORING THAN DOING THE WHOLE HOUSE CHORES

This gave me rage and brain damage please send help to me i've gone insane i forgot how to spell comfertorble and it made me consepatded

I am currently a student using this app and it is draining me, every day i had to read the most boring books then get tested on it. It got so bad that it gave my ipad a bug and it crashed my sister using this app fainted from stress. If i could i would give 0 stars do not get this app.

I-ready is way better than this useless no father creation. I was better off with i-ready. I hope reading plus goes to 0 stars.
