Inclusive Knitting
Website for Everybody
All friends are Welcome
Once you try it out
You will never go away
Knit and crochet too
Allows hate speech and threats towards conservatives, while proclaiming it as a "safe" place; excluding, while calling themselves "inclusive." Pretends to be a site for those who love knotting and crochet, but only if you agree with their liberal political stance. Total hypocrisy.
Been using Rav for over a decade. Couldn't ask for a better fibre arts website. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, the owners stepped up and proved that not only are they fantastic internet entrepreneurs, but they're also fantastic people. They stand up for what's right. Their morals and ethics put some chicken flippers and hobby stores to shame.
Ravelry Proud. Now more than ever.
I have been using Ravelry for years it is the best place to find great patterns and new designers. That's what the site is about, it's about connecting people across the world with a common interest and that is knitting and crochet.
It's one of the best websites I've ever used, particularly in the forum design, and they make me feel welcome, which is wonderful. I absolutely love them, and have been a member for 12 years now
I was told I was no longer welcome because I am politically conservative. I voted for President Trump and was ridiculed numerous time because if it, including having my children threatened. The heads of Ravelry did NOTHING. Instead I was not welcome on their site. I had been a member for 5 years.
Great platform for fiber arts resources and a great community for networking and discussing shared interests. The hateful, radical right-wing trolls have either been kicked off or become so butthurt that they've taken their toys (and crappy patterns) and left. They're still hellbent on trying to slag Ravelry and Rav supporters. So remember to take their negative reviews with a hefty grain of salt... you knowlike the salt from their never ending tears.
This site is unparalleled in the knitting world. Patterns, yarns, it's endlessly helpful for organizing your projects and making a queue for what you'll make next.
Best resource for keeping track of your projects and supplies, to find new projects and be inspired. I love the community I have been able to find here, and I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved to keep it running! Never had any problems with the site.
This site is an amazing place to meet friends and learn about fiber arts. It has some pretty great patterns, both free and paid. The forums can give you a place to find help when you are having trouble with a pattern. As well the project page is a wonderful resource to keep track of your fiber arts projects. You can list what pattern you used, needles or hooks, yarn and there is a section for pictures and your own notes. You can search other peoples projects and see what trouble they ran across on a patter, as well as what yarn they used and how it looks in that pattern. I've found this site to be very helpful.
Not only has Rav created the best fiber arts site in the world, I would aegue that their forums are the best anywhere. In addition to the great features and ease of use, Rav has made it clear that they respect the basic humanity of their users and will accept nothing less on their site.
Database: second to none. Forums and social media aspect: trendsetting excellence. If you're a white supremacist who wants to talk about Trump, you'll feel uncomfortable there (though please note, you can still be a white supremacist if you choose not to share your views in forums or in your patterns for sale). Everyone else who knits, crochets, and spins, this website is amazing.
It is a great place for fiber friends! So many patterns and information, plus it is hate speech free! Looks like the twisted panties team is trying to fool you with their fake reviews. Don't buy it; they still use ravelry too because it is the best.
If you knit or crochet then you need this site for patterns, yarn reviews, friendship with other fiber artists and education in your craft. This is run by a small but amazing staff who are extremely responsive to all of your needs. And it's free!
Tons of patterns for knitting and crochet, as well as tools for tracking your yarn and all of that patterns you want to make up. The owners built the site themselves and have worked really hard to give us a great resource for our craft!
I've been a Ravelry member since 2007. It's place I go to see what's new in knitting patterns, to sell my own patterns, to store information about my projects, and just stay connected to other knitters.
I don't know where I would be with out Ravelry. The best knitting resource out there. I love the inclusive community
Answer: Ravelry refuses to support bigotry in any form and states so in its TOS. It is a privately owned platform and they are well within their rights. They have absolutely not banned Christians or conservatives, only speech that supports bigots and bigotry.
Answer: Because they are creating a culture of ignorance and hate in the name of politics.
Answer: This has nothing to do with Ravelry. Sockmatician is receiving feedback on a post he wrote and then heavily edited.
Answer: In the notebook section, go to your library. Choose your pattern and there will be a download button. Alternatively, for free patterns, on the main pattern page there will be a link to click to download the pattern or, if it isn't hosted on Ravelry, a link to where you can find the pattern on another website.
Answer: Can you point to any reviews that are actually doing that?
Answer: By email / by downloading it - If you purchase a pattern on Ravelry, it is a digital download.
Answer: How interesting that I answered this question several hours ago, but now *POOF* my answer has magically disappeared. WHICH PROVES MY ASSERTION. This site is helping Ravelry suppress opposing points of view. What that means is, this site is not objective and cannot be trusted for accurate information concerning the businesses that are reviewed.
Answer: I would imagine that it has something to do with Ravelry insisting that their ignorant behavior be defended. Even if that means many will no longer take sitejabber reviews seriously. I mean, how could I? Sitejabber is now guilty of silencing dissenting opinions. Just like Ravelry.
Answer: Laura J., the negative reviews are also objective. They have been posted by real people such as me, reporting real experiences past and present. True assessment of a company needs both sides of the story. If the negative reviews disappear again, it would imply someone from Ravelry is exerting undue influence over SiteJabber. There was mention in an answer to a similar question about some people a "Boycott Ravelry" group using fake names and addresses to post fake reviews. I was not a member of that group, and know some of the people posting reviews since the initial ones were deleted. We are not fake. We speak the truth, whether you want to hear it or not.
