Quora Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of Quora appears to be declining, with numerous customers expressing dissatisfaction about the platform's moderation policies and perceived bias in content removal. Many users reported experiences of censorship, particularly regarding political views, leading to frustrations over a lack of open dialogue. Despite these concerns, some users still appreciate Quora for its diverse range of topics and the opportunity to engage with a global audience. However, the prevalence of scams and low-quality content has raised significant concerns about the platform's integrity and reliability, suggesting a need for improved moderation and user support.

The mods don't help either. It's a place for arrogant egotistical pseudointellectuals. You can't even ask a simple question and get a straight simple answer. The site is exclusively for people who have way to much time on their hands bragging about how smart they are.

I have studied my field for decades, and put my answers in that field specifically. ( Christianity) moderators are soo far libtard that they blocked me from answering, even though my answers are 100 percent correct to the answers given.

They have a list of policies but no human beings actually enforce them. Instead, bots comb the site and moderated it based on keywords and baseless complaints, which are never investigated. Bad grammar and spelling abound in both questions and answers. Has anyone heard of Google Translate? The questions are mostly of incredibly low quality and the so-called Quora Partnership Program only encourages it. This site is terrible.

Terrible site. B

Quora is UNFAIR!
September 8, 2020

Quora discriminates comments at random, flagging them as inappropriate at their own will. Their policy regarding obnoxious content is very inconsistent.

Your put on a soft filter if you are not left of center and support all the Marxist propaganda. The internet is the last haven and has been silenced since we went away from webpages to the big tech owning us!

2020 is our last chance to vote legally or we will fail as a nation and the world will fall to! Look up shot heard around the world to learn why we were seen as the 'beacon of hope'. Since the 1800s we have slowly allowed ourselves to be brainwashed.

Heavy Bias
August 18, 2020

If you make any kind of comment supporting Trump, or anything negative about Democrats, your comments are deleted. If you list actual quotes by famous people showing support for Trump, you are deleted.
They don't like facts. If you post facts supporting your position, you are deleted.
They don't want honest discourse.
I've marked their site as SPAM, so I hopefully, will not get bothered by them any longer.
A total trash site.

I got blocked from quota for asking if it was a democratic ran website because every time I made a post stating facts not opinion about the democratic parties history I would get a message from quora saying my post was troll post. It's pretty obvious the answers on quora aren't those of everyone only the views allowed by them to achieve there agenda. It's a clear example of a communist ran site just like Facebook. And if you feel like doing about ten yrs in prison take some legal advice from the wannabe lawyers trolling the site. It's a unreliable site backed by the biggest terrorist in the world. The democratic party and black lives matter!

Power abusive mods
August 13, 2020

The moderators are inconsistent at best. They collapse your content for a policy violation, however they won't tell you what you have done wrong. Very few win appeals. Some users get away with anything (normally left wing sjw's), but others are judged harshly. I have been called all sorts of disgusting names and have reported them, yet very little done. Can someone tell me what is wrong with this answer?

A quora member called our President stupid and an idiot and that he wasn't doing anything for Covid at all. I told her he has an entire task force and is asking all countries to provide a vaccine. My response was found to be a violation while hers was dandy! In another area a Canadian slammed our a President again and all responders did as well! But none of there responses were of course bad. I'll never use Quora again! What a bunch of libtarded $#*!s!

Quora is a cesspit
August 12, 2020

Quora has become like Twitter. A cesspool of the far left censoring everyone who is not. Centrists, moderates, or conservative. Quora does not value civilized discourse. Their moderators are incompetent and can never be reached. They will collapse or remove your answer and never tell you why. Quora should best be avoided.

Bullies, stalkers
August 11, 2020

Last review of dani c described my experience like looking into a mirror! There are a lot of bullies in this site, male or female alike. Dani seems like a female but I'm a dude and even I get bullied. They like to pounce on people they don't like often with near impunity. They act like they own the place. Play by their rules or suffer, seems to be the message they're sending out to others. No thanks. I ended up getting at least few stalkers on my hand rn and I just couldn't believe it. I can only imagine how worse it would be for female.

I just closed my account down on Quora after several months. I had gone on there because I liked to write, and I am at home a lot due to health issues. But it didn't take long before I started feeling as though everything I wrote was being pecked at by other Quora members. I was regularly being insulted, presumed stupid, mocked, criticised, and just given a hard time when I never provoked it. And this includes Quora's own moderators, who would keep slapping me with violation notices for nothing - I had no idea what I wrote that was so wrong. But I would get the violation notice and it would not explain what I wrote that they felt was in violation. I also got violations if I tried to stick up for myself when someone attacked me. They were allowed to attack me, but I was not allowed to defend myself. Wholly dysfunctional, that.

Then I was made moderator by someone, which at first I thought was really cool, but within just one week, I was finding that the questions I would post to this space were being attacked by some of the other people - mostly men - in that space. I was trying my best to post good questions, but it didn't matter. They would get attacked. So I messaged the Admin, who was one of the few kind people on there, and told him I didn't want to be moderator anymore because of all the crap I was getting, that I felt bullied. So I was brought back down to contributor. But even when this happened, I would still get picked on when I answered anything or commented on anything. So I stopped being a contributor. The admin noticed, asked me back, and for him really, I came back on there, but I didn't really contribute much, purely to avoid more grief.

And so I would just stick to answering questions outside of that space, or commenting on posts outside of that space, and I would never be the one to start of being provocative. Not once. But soon as I would utter a word, I would be attacked by someone, and sometimes, a few people at once.

I had a lot of really nasty things said to me, none of which I deserved. I am not a nasty soul and I am not the type to be horrible to people, and I had been on Quora defending vulnerable people and challenging racist posts.

And it just got worse and worse, and Quora kept slapping me with violations when I was the target of the abuse, not the instigator, and I had enough. For my own sanity, I closed my account.

Quora is the single most bullish environment I've ever encountered in my life. Far worse than school, far worse than any job I've had, far worse than anyone I've ever worked with. It is a horrible, nasty arena.

If you are vulnerable in any way, avoid this site. Because these people will suss it out, and peck at you until you either close your account, or top yourself.

Shame on you, Adam (owner of Quora)

Hall of shame
August 10, 2020

An obscure corner of the internet that no one cares about full of delusional people thinking they're agents of global change and leading pioneer of world knowledge. In other words, losers' heaven to feel important about themselves. Not to mention usual lingo of virtue signalling and victim-claiming, only amplified tenfold by the overall conceited tone.

Religious persecution
August 9, 2020

Quora kicked me off for being a Christian or holding Christian views. This violated my civil rights. They say I am being disrespectful. I tried to contact them and I can't reach them. They won't allow me to dispute getting kicked off.

I shouldn't have to use my real name to comment on the site. They disabled it. I like keeping my name private so.
Another thing, I should have to pick my interests in the way they have it set up just to move on during the sign up process. The people who comment make the site interesting but they're the ones who carry the site.

Why would I have to sign in to prove I'm older than 13? I mean, most people on the internet are 10-30, so why not change it to 10 and just not ask? Even 12 year olds know what pornhub is. Maybe they don't want to watch it, maybe they need to ask a question. Instead of allowing me to read an answer, I get a slight idea of what will be said but I need to put my email and personal information on yet another website. No thank you.

Oh? I need to sign in for a review? Okay, creating an account is easy enough, right?

The problem with this site is that so many people use it as a bad quality yahoo-answer-search engine and that because of this, most newbies/ people who log on for the first time are put off.
In case you don't know what Quora is, it's a Question/Answer site, where answers can be about anything. There are good writers, there are bad writers, there are catfishes, there are great people, there are teens and there are adults - it's basically the same as all other social media.
You can likewise get followers, and follow people. You can also get hate.
But you can get positivity. You can make friends. You can get advice. And that's what I received.
So, my point is, this site is great, but managed poorly. There are BNBR rules which Quora is actually quite strict for, andthat means that you can report. The problem is that not all fights are resolved properly - but not all fights are worth it.
So I recommend Quora - but you have to be patient to see the true experience.
