After an item was purchased, no delivery arrived in the expected time frame. Subsequent communication was ignored including requests for cancellation and refund. As no response received a chargeback was made directly to the bank and a review was left on Trustpilot.
To my surprise the item then arrived 3 weeks after the initial otder. It arrived in unsuitable packaging, a thin envelope and a layer of bubblewrap, no box.
Since cancellation had been made and there was potential transit damage an email was sent to Powerimp requesting a return label in order to send item back. I also questioned whether the item was in new condition.
This reasonable request was responded to by Powerimp with aggression and threats. They stated that the item was indeed a refurbished item, which was not clearly and apparent on the listing or on the receipt, which appears to be a significant and intentional misrepresentation.
They stated that I had to bear the cost of returning the item.
They claimed that my cancellation was "conditional" as they had not responded to my cancellation request and that the item had already left their posession so they could not cancel it.
The Royal Mail tracking record shows that the item was not delivered to the post office by Powerimp until after my cancellation.
They stated that I had made the chargeback after receiving the item was therefore committing a matter of serious consumer fraud that they would be referring me to the financial and fraud authorities.
They raised a dispute with my cardholder who after viewing the correspondence and timeline of events settled in my favour.
They also threatened and harassed me on numerous occasions during correspondence that unless the Trustpilot review was removed this would be treated as defamation and would lead to legal escalation if necessary.
Despite this, Powerimp kept refusing to issue a return label. Finally they agreed that they would do so on condition that the Trustpilot review was removed. When I refused this condition, Powerimp issued me with a letter before claim, just before Christmas 2025, stating that they would be seeking compensation for defamation, illegal retention of goods, unjust enrichment!
Beware of this unscrupulous vendor. Never experienced such a underhand and dishonest company.
