ONE LINE SUMMARY:
My clothing was stolen by the person they sent to pick up my clothing, Poplin says they aren't responsible at all for anything that happens to anybody's clothing, and I'm not legally allowed to take them to court.

MORE DETAILED VERSION:
I had 39 lbs of laundry picked up by the person Poplin sent to my home. That person stole my clothing and would neither reply to me nor Poplin. Poplin wrote that I should file a police report, but that they aren't responsible for the stolen clothing. They wrote that they are a "marketplace" and that they don't hire the person doing laundry, even though I have no information or choice about the person doing my laundry. Why do I say wrote? Because they have no phone number to talk to anyone and refuse to talk via phone about the issue.

Essentially, anyone using their app is trusting a complete stranger to clean their clothing and bring it back, because the company will not reimburse you if your clothing is stolen. Reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the person this has happened to.

In order to use the app, you have to sign their initial waiver. Most of us automatically sign waivers instead of reading the 20 page document. The waiver essentially says they're not responsible for any loss or damage. Quoted from the terms of service, "Poplin and its affiliates do not guarantee [...] the result of any laundry services [and] Poplin and its affiliates are not responsible for any delays, delivery failures or other damages, liabilities or losses resulting from such problems." Don't take my word for it. The terms of service are on their website, via a tiny link on the bottom of their main page.

Not only do they not take responsibility, but you can't even take them to court. The terms of service agreement also says, "You and Poplin mutually agree to resolve any and all covered justiciable disputes between the Parties exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration instead of a court or jury trial." The thing is, that arbitration can cost thousands of dollars since you'd have to be paying an arbiter for every hour they work on the case. Arbiters can run hundreds of dollars an hour.

Finally, I paid for $500 of clothing insurance, in case some of my clothing is damaged while washing. This will not nearly cover the more than $2000 lost from those 39 lbs being stolen. To add insult to injury, in order to get the $500 I am owed, the are asking me to sign a long release saying things like that I can't "at any time engage in any form of conduct, or encourage others to engage in any form of conduct, or make any statements or representations, whether in writing or orally, that disparage or otherwise impair the reputation, goodwill or commercial interests of Releasee".

So essentially in order to use the app you're legally agreeing that they are not responsible for absolutely anything that happens to your clothes, that you can't take them to court, and if you accept the insurance you paid for then you'll have to sign a long waiver surrendering even your right to talk about it.

Don't use Poplin! I have never written a review in my life, but people need to know how horrible this company is. The people giving positive reviews probably were lucky enough to not have to deal with Poplin's pathetic customer service. They didn't return all of our laundry- we were missing $300 or more worth of clothes. And the clothes we did get back smelled like smoke. We went back in forth in emails with customer service and they gave a lot of nice words but refused to refund us for the lost or stolen clothes. They weren't able to get in contact with the person who did our laundry. They said they were bound to a policy that only allows them to give Poplin credit. But that does nothing to change the fact that we have to pay spend hundreds of dollars replacing our kids clothes. And I don't want to give them more clothes and risk losing more. They were completely inflexible and unwilling to make the situation right. Don't do it! There are better companies out there that have their act together!

This company is so bad. Look up Sudshare. These punk kids started a company and got so many bad reviews they had to change their company name. Don't gamble with your stuff.

My laundry was picked up and the next day I received someone else laundry mixed in with mine and some of my clothes were missing. I contacted support. Was told over and over, day after day, that I would get my laundry back and that the other person's laundry would be picked up same day. This has gone on for days. I have not once received communication from the company itself, only automated zen desk emails.

I requested protection plan coverage but SudShare is unresponsive. Can't file a police report, because I don't have sudster name etc.

Sudster took my laundry and SudShare took my money and hung me out to dry. On top of that SudShare told me to put the other persons laundry on my front steps and has left it there for days.

If you are considering this service-stay away. How long before there is a problem and you get hung out to dry?

Zero accountability. Predatory company.

Poplin workers are hit and miss. Do not be deceived - they used to be called something different, and under that previous name, they got so many bad reviews that they thought changing the name would fool people into using what they thought might be a different service!
I sent the following information, nearly word-for-word 4 times with NO RESPONSE. I took photos and sent proof of everything. This is with regard to order #S3643****:
The entire reason I do wash n fold service is to save myself time. Isnt this supposed to include folding and matching socks, as well as actually cleaning the items instead of only using fabric softener to make it seem like theyre fresh?
Socks, blanket, and other items dont look like theyve even gone through the machine with detergent. Twice now, my items have returned looking as dirty as before, only smelling great. This leads to believe that they are only using fabric softener when they run out of detergent, or as in this case, the cleaner doesnt know how to use the pods I provided.
Cleaner left all the socks mismatched and loose in a bag, all the bamboo face cloths were scrunched up like use wadded tissues and left in one of my washing bags like that, several of the items came back looking like they hadn't even seen soap, and she claimed that the laundry pods I provided for detergent would work, but had she read the packet directions, she'd see that one only puts the pods in with the clothes! I'm not sure, based on how dirty many of the items are, if she only used fabric softener?
The only good thing is that they smell nice. She left all "small" things (socks, panties, face cloths) in the little bags I'd provided all wrinkled and bunched up.
She also lost one of my kate spade booties, which are very sentimental to me. The socks, most of them, were still dirty. And I had to try and locate all their matches in and amongst the pile.
The wadded up face cloths cant even be stacked in their usual spot, a shelf for easy access, because theyre like little balls of tangled mess.
Id have to iron each one. I dont expect ironing from the workers, but if this cleaner had removed them from the bag and washed them like usual, they would, at very least, not be all wadded up like used tissue.
