I am a separated woman looking to meet decent men for a possible relationship. I made it clear in my profile I was not looking for a hook up or one night stands and what I was looking for. The men on this site are cocky and conceited and looking for hook-ups! They say one thing in their profile like wants to find someone to marry and I have good old fashioned values and morals and then they sext you some of the nastiest stuff ever! I am a paying member and still found nothing but player after player. A few of my divorced friends swear they met a great guy on here but I am just not sure where. My advice is to pay for a decent site if you are serious about finding a good guy!

I created a profile a week ago and my account was deleted with no explanation two days ago. I've tried to contact their PR department (the only contact listed under "Contact Us") as well as "*******@pof.com" (after an online search) and have not heard back. I never violated any of the terms, no nudity, no inappropriate behavior, nothing rude or inflammatory, nothing. In fact, I was emailed something sexually inappropriate and never responded, but that person was able to keep their profile, AND I was emailed something bizarre that only said "U are bad :(" from someone I hadn't messaged prior...

I wonder if whoever that was didn't like my profile for some unknown reason and hit "block user" so POF just deleted my account. It doesn't make sense either way.

I'd give half a star if I could.

This site's PR department is full of $#*!. POF seriously can't be the leading dating site with all these problems. If they spent more time fixing their problems rather than their image, it would be a better site. I can't stress enough how frustrated I am with them.

There are scammers everywhere. I've been dating online for the last few years, and sure, some guys are dishonest, there are those who ATTEMPT to scam others (some even get away with it), but you'll find those idiots anywhere, not just on POF. I've had no issues with the site. I met my last boyfriend on POF, we dated for 18 months. One before that... 2 years. You've gotta expect that in a 'pool' that big, there are GOING TO be some sharks. You have to exhibit the same amount of common sense that you would to doing anything else online. Don't just open yourself up to any old jackass simply because he's good looking, or you're lonely, then cry foul when he scams you, or just wants to get laid. Take SOME responsibility! Geezus!

The site really is probably a scam site but some of the ladies are local to me in Rugby Uk & genuine but the site is crap. They make it so difficult to search and send details of women well outside of my search criteria. I am a 30 something man in the UK and have been using this site on and off for a few years. I was permanently banned this week with no explanation. Any new accounts I make are deactivated within a couple of hours. I was not abusive/lewd and had no topless shots etc. I had made a few female friends on there, and feel quite annoyed that I'll never be able to contact them again.

POF seem to change their rules day by day. Lately, you could only contact xx amount of new people a day. This wasn't in the T&Cs I agreed to. They then appeared to stop enforcing that.

Other than that, the site is largely populated by wannabe WAGs. Women just looking for sex. Cheats etc. Not many genuinely looking for a relationship, and those that are soon leave.

The design of the site is incredibly poor. As a web developer myself, I could knock something better than this up in a couple of days. Delete Account is intentionally well hidden. Parts of the site frequently break, and it is often down. They seem to do site updates directly to the live site, which is very poor practice for a company that allegedly makes millions of USD a year.

Also, from what I understand, they have a large database containing email addresses, zip/postal codes, photographs, IP addresses etc. There's no telling what information they have on people, but they should be held to International Law regarding the handling of user data, as they don't appear to apply that.

It's only saving grace is the sheer number of users. Unfortunately, only an extreme few are looking for anything other than "fun" or attention. And in attempting to find these few, you may find yourself banned forever with no explanation. Just awful.

Yesterday I was chatting to somebody and we were getting on really well. She is 31 and I was 45.

Today I am a day older than yesterday but it was my 46th birthday and because of the POF Police's age restrictions I can no longer contact her as she is too young for me apparently. What a difference a day makes.

After her wishing me a happy birthday I can no longer thank her or even contact her. Now she thinks I am ignoring her and we didn't exchange contact details so, as far as I'm concerned I could have lost the girl of my dreams but all they care about is that I am no longer young enough to contact her! Surely that is illegal?!

This site is an absolute joke and the owner Markus Frind is an absolute joke and control freak!

I HAVE paid, zoosk, mingle, Christian ( sex pool) Our Time which I filled out for another but they kept putting me with the over 50, and a few others. I paid and looked... Nobody in 10 miles, 25 50 75? Come on! Think about this. You finally find somebody somewhat compatible, then arrange schedules, pick a spot half way in between. Do either of you really know a good place to meet? A local place to eat? The parking lot at Wally World? NO! Neither one wants to drive all the way there and back. So in retrospect the dating sites are contributing to each failed long distance relationship just to make more money.

Barrage of fake profiles (despite their claims that they delete fake profiles). Be careful with what data you give them... they will delete your profile (without reason) but keep your data to use to generate other (fake) profiles! Also, there are a lot of obsolete profiles (ones not used in years) kept on the site to make it appear like it has more members!

People don't "rate" the site to "screw with the ratings". They rate it bad because it IS bad.
It's also widespread KNOWLEDGE that POF moderators patrol sites like these (and Youtube videos) praising POF and attacking anyone who thinks otherwise.

POF is full of women who love to complain about "men do this wrong, men do that wrong"... but then do the same exact thing themselves! Unrealistic standards (5'1 overweight welfare women looking for 6'6 muscular rich men), attention whores who get off over recieving messages from guys and rejecting men... and don't forget the infamous golddiggers and dinner daters.!... Also, stay away from the POF forums, especially if you are male.

Plenty of fish is a scam don't ever pay for it i did once not too long ago i signed up decided to pay for 1 month i had a clean profile did not mansion sex to anyone i was always polite i logged in 2 weeks later after i signed up i could not log in i tried searching my account could not find it i was banned for no reason i did how ever report an escort profile a day before i got banned but i guess they would rather ban the guy who follows terms of use rather than banning the escort profile & few weeks later the escort profile is still on the site never has been banned & they clearly advertising sexual services on the profile so what does that tell you about plenty of fish it's a total scam they will only ban guys for no reason you will never get you're money back & if you look on peoples profile it will say to view the extended profile sign up now that is a total scam there is no extended profile one day this website will ban the wrong user & they will get sued hard I'm looking forward to seeing plenty of fish on CNN don't waste you're money on this bull$#*! lucky i did not loose more than 30$

POF deleted my profile just because I stated on my page that I dont date hispanic guys. And the only reason I stated this was because I was getting tons of messages from hispanic men, so I decided to make it clear in my profile that I date other types of guys. By deleting my profile POF pretty much told me that I must date guys of any race whether I like it or not! And, at the same time, they require you to put ur ethnicity in order to complete your registration process! Hypocrites!

Was divorced for 20 years, and off and on I would sign onto POF. I'd go out with a couple of men, then I'd get off the site again. Well, it finally paid off. I got married 10-25-14 to a man that is so right for me there are no words to describe. For women, POF at least gives you a chance to get out and do something. Always meet in public places. And believe it or not, you CAN find your Match. POF is free just like it advertises to be too. Thanks a million POF!

They cancel me three times no explanation, the number in the site not working number i had to start a dispute to get my money back

Less pressure than eharmony... the guys seem more natural and relaxed and I don't feel so much pressure. I like the feature of looking for friends. It makes getting to know the people easier. So far I haven't been on any bad dates from this site. The. Crowd at match was just strange. Eharmony crowd was too up tight.
