I used to be able to send a couple of dozen messages over a weekend, using an effective opening message I've developed which explains who I am and what I'm looking for. Now POF blocks them after the first few, saying copy and paste messages are not allowed.

This defies all logic; a standard greeting makes perfect sense because we know almost nothing about each other. And besides, they probably won't write back anyway so it's not fair to expect guys to invest a lot of time on a personalized opening message. The opener really needs to be standard, with the recipient's name added at the beginning if they provide one in their profile. Then the second message can be personalized sure if they show any interest.

The 14 year rule was bad enough, but now they won't even let me say what I want to say? Jeez, enough is enough. Time to look for alternatives, whether it be Tinder or a paid dating site. POF used to be good but they went too far with all their restrictions.

The site is owned by IAC, who own Match, Tinder and OKcupid. They use this site to gather your data and information. That is why it is free to join. The site is NOT moderated because they need that data to survive. That means the site is FULL fakes and scammers. Web traffic and usage is falling so will they will allow everyone to join to make the site look like it is more popular than it is. Also everyday PoF itself adds hundreds of fake profiles, mostly female profiles, to try and attract more new users. If you join they WILL sell your information. You will be targeted by scammers.

This dating site sucks the women never reply to messages and they block you for no reason. Also if by chance of a miracle that the do reply to a message they always have something rude to say to you. Women on here act like and think they are playboy models and they are wanting a man that looks like a wrestler. Well news flash women on pof are average looking at best and no man can be perfect.If women on here would stop being so damn picky and shallow there would not hardly be any single men on this crappy dating site.

The problem is way too many men which means the women even the average ones gets tons of mail and their standards go ridiculously high.
If you are a 5/10 you wouldn't expect to be able to interest a 9/10 it doesn't work like that in real life yet the deluded women on POF think it does

I was on about 3 years ago, signed back up and it wasn't 5 minutes until I saw people online from 2013 with exactly the same photo up! Numerous people with old photos looking for genuine guys!

I'm not buying there are no decent guys my view is that the women think this is like online shopping and the longer they wait the more chance Mr Right will come along
They aren't interested in Mr great they all want Mr Perfect which is ridiculous when most of those women are 5/10 at best. You wouldn't go upto a fit guy in real life if he's out your depth but online the women think it's acceptable

Even if you find a decent woman who isn't deluded stuck up and uber picky the chances are she'll get another 190 messages overnight and forget about you

A total waste of time due to deluded woman and the sheer numbers of men outnumbering the woman

I really didn't think I would ever find someone who genuinely loved me for me. My entire life i felt like I was exactly what no one was looking for, but then I found the one. And if it wasn't for PoF, I might have never found him. Especially since I am so shy and tend to have low self esteem. But PoF gave me this, I don't know like a sense of being worth something. And while we have only been dating a while, but everyday I wake up and I am so glad that I sent him that message.

Shockingly bad iface to register & a terribly complicated contradictory set of registration questions about you? The site is one of the most well known BUT not for the right reasons, im married getting divorced after many years to the same partner and all i wanted to do was to find friends locally to me as mine live at the other side of the country BUT NO! POF dont allow you to signup to be friends with people do they? So i had to lie on my application form which i didnt like one bit and when it came to the questions all 75 of them (Multiple choice) & here is three examples of the CROCK you have to answer:

Q 59: i cant get to know everything about a love intrest fast enough?

Q 69: i am drawn to other for their strenghs especially the ones i dont have?

Q 72: few people love me other than those i know online.

Seriously DONT use the site more so now they are charging...(How dare they) there has been so many relationships ended from the site people arguing people falling out abuse... the list is endless... If you want to find a partner LOOK closer to home... start by going out and really meeting people actually in person... Hope this helps.

'Plenty of Fish' but also 'Plenty of Scammers'. Just like on any other dating site you will receive bunch of messages from scammers. But obviously scammers love POF a little more, LOL! If you want to get into the dating game I'd prefer Match (which is expensive but has many members) or Mingle2day (great site but not many members in some areas). POF is a fun site to spend a little time. Not bad and not good, at least in my opinion.

Though its early and only chatted with one so far and she showed little interest I can see its going to be pretty much like Zoosk. Also seen a few ladies from Zoosk on POF hence losers from Zoosk and probably all the rest of the so called free sites which are never really free are planting seeds everywhere but not willing to communicate. Many at least are noble to express they are not paying to check if their messages are being read. Then I find it unique that women post a disclosure statement not to allow POF use their pics for their advertizing. I guess its a way to sue POF if they do. In this social climate everyone is sue happy especially the women. I wonder why people bother at all with dating sites? What happened to the good ol days when you went to a bar for sleezy sex. Everyone complains that POF is short of promoting porn sites do consider they have two parts to their site. One for sex one for so called polite women. Yet, if its all about eventually getting laid do consider being polite is not getting any guy laid. Thats like being politically correct it doesnt get the issues fixed. Being politically correct is getting alot of people dead. Nevertheless, as with all dating sites people need to remember to set their expectations low enough to avoid disappointment.

This site is nasty! This is supposed to be a dating app. Not a link up site to $#*!ing? You should really screen your people better than you do. I can't tell you how many naked photos I've gotten from people including private areas not to mention vulgar comments that are straight and utter trash! If this "dating app" is really about hooking up's and thats all... maybe you should change your overall expectations and reviews of this site, very misleading! These men (boys) on here come across creepy almost as pedophiles or rapists. And you monitor this? Inappropriate and disgusting behavior allowed on your site!

All 5 of the people who contacted me, whom I responded to were fraudulent characters. My website on POF was reset while a fraudulent account with my name and pictures appeared. When I called for help, I was told that they could fit he problem for me for $350.00. My credit card and email account were compromised as well. This is a known activity by the owners of POF. If I could select 0, I would. The only reason I selected 1 was because there was no "0". DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

The POF site itself is good. It was created to bring people together. However, bad people go anywhere good people go. It's sad that POF is flooded with scammers, creeps and freaks. I have been on the site on/ off since 2007. Met some nice friends on POF. But as of 2016, All I have came in contact with is aggressive scammers, creeps and freaks. One really creepy guy that I was talking to started talking to me about he worked in a morgue and how he watched a man have sex with dead bodies. How sick is that! Another guy wanted me to talk dirty to him so he could sleep at night. Another guy wanted me to help him out on his rent because he was between jobs, this is only after talking to this man just two weeks. Then there's the African love rat, who create fake profiles, using other people pictures they stole off the Internet. I was talking with a handsome white male from my hometown but when I actually heard his voice he had a horrible African accent. The voice did not match the picture. Plus this guy did not know anything about the town he said he was born in. I tried to navigate through all the scammers, creeps and freaks to find a nice man friend but it was damn impossible to find a good person. And there is the old ugly winkle beer belly men who want to be players going from one woman to the next. Also you got rapists, ex-cons, narcissistic people, drug addicts, alcoholics, sex workers and the mentally ill people all on POF. It's good people on the site but you gotta go through hell to find them.
