The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

I thankfully only wasted two months on this Horrific site. I had never tried online
Prior to this. RUN Ladies RUN! Bunch of FAKE profiles. Last man I spoke to
Seemed Genuine. He was a Foreign Scammer. Saw many Men use this BOGUS
Profile: I am a WIDOW, Wife died of brain cancer. Yada, Yada come on. Felt like
They are exactly like IRS scammers whom call you to tell you to pay back taxes or you will be arrested. This Jackass asked me for 48k. This guy total joke! Did meet one decent man, told me after we met he prefers Asian woman. I am educated, attractive; Tall, Athletic Caucasian. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
A bunch of fake profiles with girls that work for pof or generated by pof to lure you to their site. Only girls that respond are the desperate ones that dont look good plus they block you for reaching out to too many girls, so i guess im supposed to just look at them and hope for a message first. Dobt sign, waste of time!
I've messaged over 250+ girls and I've received 0 responses, also I'm an upgraded member you'd think that'd help right? Nope. POF is a scam for your money because they know it doesn't work. I would give it 0 stars but I can't, they've lost my business.
Men on this site want you to be perfect (and i'm not too shabby) but they look like trolls, don't have ten words to say about themselves other than, Hello, how's your day. If you ask for any more, you won't get it. Instead, you get a phone number. But you know nothing about them except they're just average Joe's, no goals or ambitions, seemingly picking a fight, calling you names or misjudging you b/c you're attractive. It is the worst experience I have ever had. I'm now just taking notes, not looking for a guy who is honest, respectful or even nice. It's a very demeaning dating site. Guys are so overly-confident, they don't think they need to sell themselves or even talk about themselves. They're better than another senior-people dating site, because on that one, they all wanted to send inappropriate photos. (These do and will do so once you phone them). What's a decent, attractive, all-American girl to do--go to sluts school?
I had a few creeps on POF but you can also meet nice peopl. IMO one of the best dating sites and sure worth trying. The app needs improvement and can't compete with Tinder though. Conlusion: Good! IMO POF is of the top three sites/apps to use (tinder and mingle2day are also worth trying)
At first thought great. Then dug below the surface after being ignored and quickly came to the conclusion that full of 30-40 year old women who either because they've let work rule their life or because they're useless in relationships find themselves on here. Not just looking for a date it has to be a date with Mr Perfect or Mr White Knight
They are ridiculously picky and ignore messages. They'll turn down someone really good because they're not amazing and perfect. Yet what have they got to offer? Most never been in longer relationship than a year what does that say about how great they are? Is it really that hard to say thanks for contacting me but no thanks. Are women that ignorant nowadays? Seems it
Don't feed their ego's.
Dear POF.
I had a great evening with a beautiful lady that I met on your site. She held my hand and walked me through the movie. Lots of fun. There was a wonderful kiss good night. I'm hoping we'll have a second date. Thank you for your site that brought us together for this date.
Cary
Do not pay for love if you do your paying for a prostitute. But they say its not, just you pay $85 + year fee and get gothing but bots & people they hire to make you sign up.
Such a waste of time. I spent hours to answer questions and upload pictures and then in middle of talking to people. They just delete your account. They don't send email or anything. I didn't do anything wrong at all. No inappropriate picture or message. AVOID IT!
Realy bady they suck worst site ever you get block for saying hi very rude women there lots of scammers the whole site is a joke get rid of this site who, s with me
Men who are financially unstable and immoral. So many losers. I met a scammer in here a few years ago. Dated him for awhile. He never wanted to do anything. He slept and sat home. He only ever invited me over to his house. He was in a bad position financially. I am a single mom with a child but did a very foolish thing and loaned him money. You guessed it! When I asked for it back (long past when he promised) he never spoke to me again. Nice guy. I hope he can live with the fact that a single mother loaned him money and that's what he does in the end. I'm glad to be rid of him. I met a great person off line through my job and that scum bucket is behind me. Good luck ladies.
Biggest scam site ever. Nothing real about it. Full of fake profiles and set up scams of so many kinds. These people are not real and if they are you will never meet them. Stay away don't be fooled. When it looks and sounds too good to be true, then it isn't...
If you're looking for a good woman, you won't find them here. My favorite is when they choose to meet you but then when you message them they just view your profile and don't respond. Then even if you get to meet someone they turn around and say you live too far or I'm too busy and all kinds of mess. Didn't they take that into account before setting a date. Just a lot of closeminded, picky, arrogant women whose standards are unrealistically and ridiculously high. My advice: go to Zoosk.com. I met someone and we're doing great!
First off I am married. I honestly put my age, weight, marital status, physical stature on the web site. Over the past 10 years I have meet 4 women on POF and had wonderful sex with them. My first encounter has lasted 10 years and I will be seeing her again in a few weeks. All 4 of my encounters have been more than 1 night stands. I have meet each on e of them on several occasions. It is only the one that has lasted 10 years because she lives in the same city. The others live elsewhere, but that didn't stop us meeting on multiple occasions over several years. In all I would guess I have asked about 50 women out, 4 have responded. Not bad considering I think of myself as an average person in looks but well above average in physical activity.
POF is a horrible place to find what you are looking for: they keep you in the dark, remove your profile for some reason, do not send the letters you write, and then they ask you for more money... this guy Markus has been a scammer (the owner) for many years. Stay away as you will waste your time and energies... not a worthwhile site. I have switched to OKCUPID and have enjoyed the experience much more than the loser site POF. (Does it sound like I hate the place)?
I have been on POF for a long time, with very little luck, have been on dates that have led to short relationships. The women say they are looking for guys with no baggage, but they them selves have all kinds of baggage, old relationships or flames that they really cant get over with, as an older man looking for a lady my age very hard as they have been independent and set in their ways, that they are unable to relate to things that the man relates to. In short I think most are looking for MR RITE in a playboy sugar daddy, that can wisck them around the world and treat them like crap.
After using the site for few hours you need to hug a puppy or take a hot bath just to feel human again, horrendous. I am not even talking about the specimens you encounter, they are, lets say fishy. The business of POF smells like something left in the sun to long.
They have seemingly clear terms of service as to what is prohibited, such as posting of nudity. I did not violate any of the terms of service set forth by them but apparently I violated some undocumented parameter - they simply deleted my account without warning or explanation and were not responsive to inquiries. As a result some hours spent there reviewing profiles and sending out messages was completely wasted. Don't waste your time.
There is nothing wrong with POF for the most part, but you must be your own dating site screening manager. One thing that sticks out is, not just misrepresentation, but misrepresentation to the point that many of the members are fraudulently representing who they really are. Therefore, initial screening of anyone who makes contact is paramount or one might find themselves going on a few very disappointing dates.
The most common and evident misrepresentations among the female members of POF are the categories of weight, smoking, alcohol use and employment status (if completed). I found that the self description of weight was often understated by 50 to 80 lbs, where they stated that they had a few extra pounds yet were horribly obese. Smoking was the second biggest misrepresentation. But POF itself is responsible for this. They even advise smokers to indicate that they are non-smoking if they are light smokers or are in that never-ending process of quitting. Watch for the drinking! In 100 percent of the time, the social drinkers I went out with could put me under the table in record time often consuming four to six drinks in a couple of hours on a first date. Finally there is employment status. In 100 percent of the time also, the women I first met significantly overstated their employment status and economic situation to the point that, if the meet-up turned into a relationship, she would have been totally financially dependant.
There are many good women on POF, but they seem to get lost with those who are so desperate for a man that they will say almost anything to get that first date!
Tried to make an account several times just to be locked out after an hour or two. They don't give any reason or warning as to why they lock your account and their technical support is pretty much non existent
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
