The overall reputation of Plenty of Fish (POF) is largely negative, with customers expressing significant dissatisfaction regarding the quality of profiles and user interactions. Common concerns include a high prevalence of fake profiles, rudeness, and entitlement among users, particularly women, who are perceived as unrealistic in their dating expectations. Many reviews highlight poor customer service, including issues with account management and a lack of effective support. While some users acknowledge the site's potential for connecting singles, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that POF has declined in quality and user experience, leading many to seek alternatives.

I get on there and call out the fakes, and they block me, because a woman with a single picture who is centerfold quality in looks and says she wants a relationship, blah blah blah, and all but says she is a virgin. I call them out, and say, this is a fake profile, they block you and pof terminates your account. But with 1000 or more men to a woman, they need the fakes ones to seem legitimate. Even the woman are complaining about the scams, and my profile spelled this out as well.
This site is for hooking up for sexual encounters only. If that's all your looking for, it's plentiful. If your looking for a real relationship skip this one over. Good luck.
The caliber of men that I would enjoy meeting are nowhere to be found on POF. Lots of game players, one message wonders, and men older than dirt with a questionable pulse will contact you. You always have people with attitudes, bitterness, and just complete jerks. POF has the entire gamut. I do not have the desire or enough lifetime to deal with POF.
Plenty of fish is not bad and offers some cool features for free whereas others make you pay. But word of caution beware of scammers and fake profiles. But there are genuine and real persons on the site but in my opinion Mingle2day, QuickFlirt, and Match simply work a little better. They initially cost but the relation of real profiles vs fake profiles seems a little better.
I signed up last year and was lucky enough to only be on it for 3 days! People on there seem more real then ither dating sites. I met my still now boyfriend on there and cant be any happier then i am now so thank you plenty of fish for finding my perfect guy :)
I would not recommend the POF dating site to anyone who is real and genuine. My experience with this company has been one of lies, corruption and the most impersonal user interface for meeting a friend.
PoF is a software scam which read unread or read delete your messages to women. I hear women on here talking step about man it is not true your the piece of $#*! on it there are real respectful man like myself on it. I been on PoF for a month and a half only had 2 message me only asking for money. I own a company and make a lot of money had lots of pics did not get no reply from anyone PoF is a scam don't waste your money report them get refund
I have had scammers several times and finally went to the FBI website for tips. They are so easy to spot and even easier for the person to create a fake profile. Older women seem to be a target and just must think we are old and feeble. I have an upgraded profile and will not renew when my time is up. I still get plenty of messages but will NEVER give out my email or phone number until or unless I meet the person first. It is so frustrating to be an ethical person looking for someone with more scammers out there than legitimate people.
I have been on POF for two years and 90 to 95% of men that will either contact you or reply to your message are looking for nothing! Many of them easily give their phone number, then they will only text you or talk to you once and never call you back. Often, they will plan a date with you, and then they will disappear. They won't even reply messages, and you will never meet them. Ladies, be aware! A LOT OF bul##it on this dating online website. Do not lose your time... after a little talk, ask them to meet with you. If they don't do it asap, move on, otherwise you are going for a lot of disappointments! I tried to figure out why it is this way, but unfortunately I do not have a crystal ball to answer this question and know who is the right fish. You need a lot of perseverance to meet a good guy (among the 5% left) and you are not sure that they will be some kind of chemistry between the two of you. I have been often frustrated to spend so much time and energy in searching for the right person, to just ending up to talk to a lot of losers, than I recommend that you try another online dating website.or don't be picky and may be you will get lucky!
I paid for 3 months. Last night I was not able to log into my account I tried to reset my password and it would not send me a password reset so I have no access into my account even though I paid for it. I finally found a number for customer service through Google and this gentleman who I could barely understand informed me that he would be happy to help me but he wanted to charge me for it absolutely ridiculous no I have to try and get a refund
Why does the site keep going down? I have tried to log on several times this week and I get a 'This site can't be reached' screen. It's becoming so frustrating I am thinking about using a different site! Definitely don't want to upgrade because of it!
I have used this site on and off for a few years, its a waste of time and energy, no one wants to meet in person. That's if the 'person' you are talking to exists, I will never go on here again, I am using match.com, they recommend you use for 6 months to get any success, already its looking loads better than pof after just a few weeks. All in all, just avoid Pof.
This site is pure dog$#*!; moderated with a heavy double standard slanted and biased again the male species while the females get away with things that the males would be deleted/banned for. Lots of female misandrists. NO EVIDENT MODERATION AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. You will never get a response from customer service for anything you report whether you're a free member or an upgrade member. The features of the site are useless; create more conflicts than they resolve; Users treat the Meet Me feature as purely hypothetical without any basis in realty; System encourages females to send useless "Hey there" messages resulting in instant deletion; and they laugh all the way to the bank over the gullible and naive who pay money for other useless features such as tokens and propelling oneself to the top of a view list. Many many low life users - both male and female, and they ruin it for the legitimate users. THE SITE IS JUST AWFUL AND NOT WORTH PAYING A DIME TO BECOME UPGRADED AS THE UPGRADED FEATURES ARE MINIMAL AND DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. SCAMMERS AND PROSTITUTES ARE RAMPANT ON THE SITE.
If people entered into the true spirit of sites such as this, everyone would have better prospects.
As it is, it seems to be populated with teasers, losers & fake profiles.
Better to avoid & stay sane than flirt with time wasters!
They get men to text women who say they are legal age. Then they get them to sext with them, once they've done that then their "father" contacts the man and tells him that he wants $1000 or $1500 to resolve the issue or they are going to send your info to the FBI and tell you that the "daughter" is only 15. Usually a 3rd person, and usually by the name of "mr davis" is involved. Supposedly an attorney or a member of ICAC. They threaten to contact family members. And authorities if you don't pay up.Do not be fooled by these people. If an underage girl were to have sent you a photo like that its on HER as far as committing wrong doing. Especially since she told you she was legal age. As far as a father taking $1000 instead of reporting a supposed sexual predator to the authorities... what father would do that? If you understood her to be legal age and this happens, then send all pertinent information to the authorities.
POF should be banned from the net. It is swarming with scammers. Read profiles of woman supposedly here in the States and started chatting with them. The 24 scammers all, almost immediately, wanted to go to some other site to chat. I did this and then they would send more photos of themselves and started telling me they just happened to be in Africa at the time, usually on a humanitarian mission with some organization, most often Mercy Heart. Now my suspicions of scammers are really getting strong so I asked them each to write my name on a piece of paper and take a photo holding it up and I would do the same for them. They ALL said they had to ask their "uncle"! And the story goes on with one excuse after another. So I deleted my profile 4 months ago and now have some supposed female scammer posing as Ken4316 and has her first name as Helen. People I can't express enough how corrupted that site is and the few really honest and good folk that are there are suffering for it.
This guy on the site name is Bai1000 please STAY AWAY I found out he was in prison for 5 years for stealing and drugs. He is just on the site to lie, use and get money out of women. He is a thief be careful not to leave your belongings near him. He even stole from his mom and sister, they hate him! He came to my place and stole my stuff!
All the men on here want just sex. They claim they want a relationship but none of them do. This is just a waste of time! Most of the guys don't even know how to talk about anything other than sex and if you mention wanting to know more about the guys personality instead the convo usually stops.
POF does NOTHING when I report fake profiles. I know they are fake because the pix are of an obscure foreign actor or singer (do a simple Google Images check of photos that seem too good to be true or the guy says he is 52 but the picture is clearly of someone under 30). This guy continues to create profiles with pix of a married Egyptian drummer. I have notified POF yet this scammer/loser/creep continues to post:
"tempeprince2018"
Be VERY cautious and careful. Again, always do a Google Images check. Scammers also tend to say they are pet lovers and widowed (I can't believe how many men under 50 are widowed)!
There are also MANY disgusting nude pix but again, POF does NOTHING.
I registered for a hot date, what i got was something else. To my surprise there was a celebrity that i admired that shared the same emotions and outlook as me. I was on to the beginning of a loving relationship with lots of hugs kisses and more. I ticked the wrong box and ended up getting taken for £100 meal and drinks by founder of Goldgenie, Laban Roomes, then he never returned my call. All I got was a hug and a kiss on the hand.
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes its possible
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
