TL; DR Mold in produce, 1.5 hour in the parking garage waiting. Never again.
I understand these aren't normal so I didn't mind when they called me to change the pick up time to 2 hrs later. I arrived and called the number on the parking area. They told me my order will be there in shortly (no one asked parking space number so first bad sign). I waited about 15 minutes and called again. Someone answered and hanged up on me. Called again. They said the order was almost ready. After about 15 more minutes, I called again. Whoever answered said they'll transfer me. Nothing. I decided to go to the store and they said they were working on my order. Back in the car decided to watch tv. One entire episode later - nothing. By now I had been there for more than 1.5hrs. Someone was on the parking area getting names and got mine. I decided to go to the store to check again. Finally got my stuff. I got home to mold in my produce and the cans had dents. Some people don't mind the dents in the cans but no one will buy produce with mold.
Over $100 of missing items that we were charged for on the delivery followed by 90 minutes on hold to get most of them refunded (I missed 4 items costing about $12. Life is too short to call back. The guy delivered them in plastic bags. I can tell from the order that they were in 2 or 3 bags that he either delivered to someone else or were left in his truck.
Unlike Instacart, there was no way to call the delivery guy to get the truck to return when we discovered it 5 min. After he left. SOLUTION IS EASY! Pack them in paper bags, put the last 2 or 3 digits of the order on each bag as he checks out, and avoid a very unhappy customer like me. Hope whoever got our Easter rack of Lamb enjoys it (and that they are needy). We'll be eating hamburgers. (Items we were charged for but not received are highlighted in turquoise.
Not happy. Nothing in my order showed out of stock. They did there own substitutes that we can't eat so now we have wasted money we can't afford. No slip to tell me what I actually received vs what was delivered. Very disappointed.
Imagine staying up until 6 am trying to secure a slot, getting that slot only to have the website cancel your order that same day.
Then imagine you do it again, finally get a slot, waited for 2 weeks only to have them deliver 2 out of the 13 items you ordered. Thanks, now I have tubs of butter and literally nothing else to feed my family.
Not to mention my rescue animals now have none of the necessary greens they need in their diet.
Peapod is garbage.
We placed an order for hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes 2 weeks ago, and had to add items to make up the $60 minimum for delivery. I checked in every day to see if the items in my cart were still in stock, and my order was complete up to the cutoff for any shopping cart changes last night. After waiting a long 2 weeks for these items, my order finally showed up today with NONE of the items I really needed! All I got were a few bags of frozen corn and I was still charged the $10 delivery fee!
It is frustrating to wait for 2 weeks only to get none of what I really needed. To make matters worse, these items that are "out of stock" are still showing up as being available on the Peapod website for new orders! Also, I can't get through to customer service because the line is too busy (they won't even let me hold on the line...) and there's no email contact. The level of dishonesty and lack of transparency is really appalling. They may have seen better days, but they are really treating their customers VERY badly during these difficult times. STAY AWAY!
3 nights on a row after 1:00AM EST I clicked on the only reserve time still available. It was accepted. In the morning I my reserved time was gone!
Never use you guys again after this is over cuz you have a band into your regular customers this is not right. And first of all the people that can't leave the house over 65 should have first priority.
I was told by the clerk at Stop N Shop that the best way to get what i need is to order through Peapod. First, Good luck getting a delivery date. I had to wake up in the middle of the night to get myself on the next avail. Delivery that is posted each night, since they all show unavailable VERY QUICKLY. My delivery date was more than two weeks away, but I had no choice. Minimum order is set at $60. I ordered way more than I needed because i DESPERATELY needed supplies that are not available in the stores due to everyone stocking up ON more than they need. All items showed AVAILABLE to order. Two weeks later I get my delivery and ALL the items I desperately needed were cut from the order! Now showing OUT OF STOCK. When you PLACE THE order the items are not allocated to your order, but it's hit or miss if you'll wind up with them. SO, I waited two weeks, paid $10 delivery, Tip for driver, wasted money and time for no reason at all. NEVER AGAIN. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
I made a large order 2 weeks in advance and $130 of the items I ordered were out of stock even though the website says they are available. Why even make them available and then get my hopes crushed? They notified me of this after it was too late to change my order and never bothered to substitute the majority of the items that were out of stock. I would not use them in normal circumstances.
I created a login for Peapod and then immediately reserved a time for delivery which was days away due to the coronavirus. I spent a bunch of time picking out the items and then clicked Checkout. On the top of the screen, my scheduled time for delivery was April 20, from 6:30 - 1. After clicking checkout, I again received a "Reserve a time" button and there now were no times. Test your software! Do not allow a user to reserve a time if your software is again going to require it upon checkout. A waste of time!
Site is slow, keeps shutting down freezing. Then when you try to set up delivery time, there are no times available past 2 weeks. Poor job by Stop and Shop meeting needs of the public during COVID 19. We are better than this but Stop and Shop is not.
I'm 71 and compromised so I can't go out so I placed an order (my 1st time) on 3/18/20 and had a delivery slot that was on 3/31/20. I compiled a cart that was $120 and increasing every time I added items to the list. The last update email I received was on 3/23/20 even though I continued to add items after that date. I checked my cart constantly on 3/31 to see if any items were dropped. There were only 5 items listed as out of stock which I thought wasn't bad. However, when I received my delivery, there were only 4 items: bananas, 1 onion, 2 tomatoes and sweet potatoes. My credit card was billed $18.76. I tried calling Customer Service and held on 1 1/2 hrs. No one answered. I don't believe they have anyone answering phones, just a phony recording saying that wait times are longer than usual and your wait is 72 mins. Don't waste your time and money using this phony service... it stinks! They are totally taking advantage of people in this difficult time. Sorry, can't get the photo to fit the required dimensions.
Zero stars. Worse than useless. They lie about product availability then try to steal from you. Literally. Then their customer service line hangs up without even putting you on hold. Wow.
I placed an order for well over $200 in groceries during the pandemic. At the time everything I ordered was in stock. When it came time for my order to be delivered 11 days later, I learned that 75% of my order wasn't being delivered because they were out of stock. I understand that this is a difficult time, but how is a major company like this so ill-prepared? I would think they would at least reach out to me for my inconvenience with a small discount on a future order, but no. All of that aside, when my 1/4 order did arrive, it was placed in flimsy plastic bags that weren't made to handle the weight of the products. All in all, it was a very poor performance on a partial order.
I've used Peapod since 2007. I've had good service with them until the coronavirus panic. I pay an annual fee toward grocery delivery which is usually a good deal. However, if I can't get a delivery for two weeks it's not such a good deal now. I am not familiar with grocery chain operations so I don't know how difficult it is to stock their warehouse to insure they have sufficient products. However I don't understand why they aren't limiting the quantity of items people buy if that's an issue in order to provide to more. Also, I don't understand why they don't offer more delivery times, expand vehicles and personnel. I got a delivery from Amazon weeks ago - it was small - and they came in a car and the items came out of the trunk. Not everyone is buying massive amounts of products so that could free up their drivers to make more deliveries. It seems they are not thinking out of the box but trying for business as usual and that's just not working well.
I understand that they are extremely busy during this Corona pandemic, however, they did not deliver $67 worth of groceries that I still got charged for. I just called them (AGAIN) and there was an outgoing message saying that the hold time is exceeding 1 hour, which I completely understand. I was willing to wait for an hour or more, however, their system cut me off and the phone call was disconnected. I was debating on giving them 2 stars, however, my Italian guilt got the best of me. We have been using Peapod for years now, but I think our relationship has come to an end.
I placed an order on 3/19/20 and was charged $320. Half of the items I selected were out of stock (understandable during this time) but I wasn't refunded any of my money. Customer service said they charged my debit card as a hold and the money would return to my account 24-48 hours. It's been over a week and I just got another charge for $190. Probably what the groceries were worth after not receiving half of what I ordered but I still haven't gotten a refund for the first deduction. I paid over $500 for a few bags of groceries. Complete Rip off.
I decided to try Peapod after a friend recommended them. Having placed my order 8 days prior to delivery you would think they would have the nonperishable items available or at least put aside for my order. Order arrived today and wow what a big disappointment. Eggs were broken and container was soaking wet. Fruit was smashed. Out of 8 frozen food items ordered I received one. Not one paper product was delivered. No paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, paper plates, nothing. My $100 order was cut in half. Now I have to go to the store and buy the missing stuff anyway. Very disappointed in PeaPod and will never use again.
I made a purchase over a month ago and I'm still fighting with my bank and Peapod to get my refund back. They charged my card the same day and called me an hour later saying that they were out of stock. But the problem is I still have not gotten my refund for the canceled order and I've been trying for the last month between them and my bank. This is the worst company I've ever bough from and I may have to give up at this point on getting my money back because I'm tired of fighting with them, giant and my bank to get my money back. Do not buy from this company you will regret it.
I stopped ordering from peapod for awhile after many issues with bad product, then after about 10 months or so I tried again and I had a coupon for 9 dollars from stop and shop which I could use on peapod. My total sale came to 184 so I used my coupon to take off the 9 but instead when it was delivered 9 was added they claim my weighted items costed more which I find funny the exact amount was added. Plus products were opened and some not fulfilled but SOME HOW my weighted items equal the coupon I used. If u do use them keep tracks of all your items and total from email and delivery they will screw you
