I live overseas and wanted to organise a special surprise for my dad on Father's Day, so I ordered a cake and a bottle of wine from Ottawa Baskets. I followed all instructions carefully, including providing my dad's local mobile number as requested. I later received a notification that the package had been delivered a day earlier than the date I had selected. The attached photo showed it had been left on the doorstep. I messaged my dad to let him know, but due to the time difference, several hours had already passed. It turns out the courier never rang the doorbell or bothered to call the number I provided. When my dad retrieved the package and opened it, the cake was a complete mess - likely due to mishandling during transit. My dad contacted Ottawa Baskets' customer service. Initially, they offered a refund or a replacement, but when he requested the replacement, they refused, citing the "high risk" of it arriving damaged again. For a company that specialises in gift delivery, it's surprising to see so little confidence in their own delivery process. The following day, I received a refund notification - with no explanation or apology - and had to find out from my dad what had happened. The $20 shipping fee was not reimbursed. This was meant to be a thoughtful surprise and instead turned into a major disappointment. I won't be ordering from Ottawa Baskets again.

Had a flower and cake delivered, the cake came it was a mess. They must have had the cake on its side, they wouldn't deliver another cake, gave 50% back for a cake that oils were soaked through the box. Poor service.
