Our party ended up split between an out-of-town restaurant's two locations. What a mess! We didn't know there were two... but both restaurant's staff went over and above with their helpfulness and understanding. We even went back to the "correct" restaurant the next day for another wonderful meal. Delicious! My complaint is with OpenTable's attitude. It SCOLDED me like a naughty child bent on causing financial mayhem to the restaurant. I laughed at the * well, as a courtesy to you we will remove this no-show from your dining record this time* remark. It was as if I was in third grade circa 1959 being chastised for an overdue library book "this will go on your PERMANENT RECORD MISSY!" I had OpenTable fail on two occasions last year and let it go. Mistakes happen, especially electronically, power goes out etc. All parties survived and dined anyway so to get this customer unfriendly email was especially irritating. Well, OpenTable, hate to tell you but you are in the hospitality business so get real and tell your silly TEAM to learn how to interact with customers appropriately.
We attended a birthday party at Apeiro's in Deray, today
The service was excellent with two very attentive and efficient servers. The food was quite good and everyone at our table enjoyed their lunch. As the lunch was winding down I noticed a gentleman watching the goings on. I asked if he was the manager. He said yes and I told him I wanted him to know how lovely was the experience we had. I told him I would write Opentable to let others know.
Booked a local reservation on 12/29 for New Years Eve. The restaurant had no record of my reservation and we were out of luck. Restaurant was of no help and opentable had the nerve to send me an email stating I was a no show. Screw you opentable.
Through Open Table, We had a booked and confirmed lunch on Christmas Day at Parker and Quinn New York. We arrived on time to find the restaurant closed. Not serving lunch. The woman who answered the door said Open Table are always doing this and she wished they wouldn't. So did we!
Activate card, made reservation, at the time of pay my bill, restaurant do not take a card they do not know. Try Open table to do something. Impossible. Now they can not find my card information. I can see I'm not alone. Please give a cash card from Walmart, Target or else. Safer and can be used. I do have to add, Customer services did the job. Open Table Customer service very important
A while back, I received a $75 OpenTable gift card from a friend. On Saturday afternoon, I activated that gift card to use for dinner at a high-end sushi restaurant on Saturday night. My family of six had a $270 meal, ordering things we wouldn't normally get because of the $75 card. When our server entered the code to take the $75 off our bill, she got a message that the balance was $0. I called OpenTable and spent 20 minutes on the phone with a "customer service" agent while my family sat there ready to leave. The agent said the balance was $0 and she could not determine where the money had gone, despite the fact I had an email from 12:30 pm the same day saying $75 for use at this particular restaurant, and my assurances to her that I had not eaten a $75 lunch there before returning for dinner at the same place at 6:00 pm. As far as I'm concerned, OpenTable stole $75 from me. We'll see if they make it right...
My husband and I went out for date night scheduled reservations on Open table. We double checked to make sure it was the correct location but it booked us for the wrong city. We went to the restaurant they told us it happens all the time. The restaurant was great and they worked us in but when my husband went back on his Open table account it had banned him cause it said we didn't make our reservation. Use another app. Open table sucks.
We booked a date night off of "open table" because of the menu shown on "open table" and review. Once we arrived at the restaurant "Revue" the menu was nothing like it was shown on the open table website. So far off that we almost walked out. Opentable.com needs to be up to date or get off the internet. Everyone goes to the internet these days so this happening is absolutely ridiculous. I won't use this website again for reservations because I can't trust them now!
Looked for a restaurant in my area. There are probably about 100 restaurants, but only one showed up where the rewards can be used, and I wouldn't go to that place if you paid me.
I made a reservation at Kai, a 5 star restaurant in Phoenix for an anniversary dinner. I made it 2 1/2 weeks in advance and then I get a declination today, 3 days from our anniversary that reservation was declined. Why couldn't they have let me know when I made the reservation rather than 2 1/2 weeks later. This is a special day and restaurant for us. So disappointing.
I am in Athens Greece right now and got a nasty no-show message from open table berating me for a no-show at a restaurant where I didn't have a reservation 6,000 miles away. Come on, people!
I like to look for local restaurant availability. OpenTable used to offer that but now it is nearly impossible to find restaurants in a single city. Instead I have to wade through hundreds of restaurants as far away as Fresno to find one in Berkeley. Apparently OpenTable doesn't want my business.
I had a reservation to celebrate a happy occasion with my family at Legal Sea Foods in King of Prussia. Because the restaurant is a bit pricey, it's not a place I'd go to unless it's was a special occasion, like the other night. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time and the food was prepared and delicious. Our waitress and staff were attentive while we were at the table. My issue, however, is one of basic hygiene. I went to the ladies room, used the bathroom and attempted to wash my hands with soap. Basic soap. Built-in soap dispensers for all 3 sinks were empty and appeared broken. The single wall-installed soap dispenser was completely empty. I opened the soap dispenser and found an empty, very dried up bag in it. I wonder how long it had been since there was soap in this bathroom! I took the dried soap bag out of the dispenser and carried the bag out of the bathroom and asked the nearest employee to please get more soap. I said I did not want to return to my table and eat dinner until I had properly washed my hands. The way the employee and two of his co-workers looked at me, you would have thought I had 3 heads. I waited by the bathroom entrance while several employees glared at me, as if I had done something offensive. REALLY, I just wanted to wash my hands with soap. Simple thing. A few minutes later, another employee showed up with a new bag of soap in hand, and as she installed it, she proceeded to tell me that like me, she also is OCD. OCD? Really? It's OCD to want to wash your hands with SOAP? I am not sure why the Legal Seafood staff had to criticize me like I was crazy for simply wanting to wash with soap. Again, pretty basic stuff. Why was this such an ordeal? Washing hands WITH SOAP is actually required by the Department of Health, especially for employees who are serving food. Most restaurants have signs posted that Employees MUST Wash Their Hands. In this case, it looked like there hadn't been soap in there for quite some time. I wonder just how many meals Legal Seafood served that day (or before that) when employees didn't get to wash their hands. To be fair, there is a hand sanitize dispenser about 3 feet outside the bathroom if you look for it. But by then you've already touched door handles with pee-soaked (or worse) hands. Just saying, rude staff and disregard for basic hygiene skills turned a potential 5-star review into 2-stars.
We spent a memorable evening in Aster restaurant on 18th of August 2017. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. We were looked after so well by the Manager and all the other staff members.
The Chef came to visit us in the wine cabinet, also she had made an additional delicious course for us.
Before our visit to the restaurant the Events Manager had kept in touch with me and the staff were aware of all my additional requests.
We finished off the evening with an exceptional Aster Martini and my friends are still talking about the successful evening in Aster.
I have use the service almost 100 times to reserve. It works fine, sometimes the venue will call to confirm, usually no problem at all. On the other hand, I am unable to redeem the points. I live in a smaller city with only a few dozen restaurants on opentable and they accept reservations but do not allow users to redeem points or use gift certificates at any of those restaurants. I need to go to another city to redeem. It is even worse, as there are multiple steps and complications to redeem a certificates. 1) you must log on and request the certificate. 2) you must find the email response which might be in your spam folder 3) You must choose a restaurant which accepts the coupon, and 95% do not accept them 4) you must print out the coupon, and once you do it is only good at that restaurant and can not be changed. 5) I have not been able to use the coupon, but I hear that restaurants do not treat customers well when the coupon is used. UGH
Reserved a table, went and ate. Then hassled by opentable as a no show. My advice don't use this service, just call the restaurant!
S. G. and Randi took excellent care of us ans served the friendliest drinks in town. Highly recommend!
We were recently in St. Louis for a conference & trade show. Wanted to take a customer to dinner. OpenTable appeared with the restaurant's info. App seemed to work well on my phone until I hit the reserve button. That's when the trouble began. I received an error message stating that the reservation failed. Well, it was getting time to pick-up the customer so I put my phone away and left. We went to another restaurant since the reservation for the other failed. When we returned back from dining out, I received a "not friendly" email from OpenTable about not showing up for our reservation... a reservation THEIR SOFTWARE said had failed! Told them about their software failing. No apology from them for THEIR software causing this issue. They actually lectured me again. Next email from them again is not friendly... actually condescending. Again, telling us we should do what we can to cancel reservations we won't be able to keep... because no-shows are extremely costly to their valued restaurant partners... but as a courtesy to us, they would remove the "no-show" from our dining record. WHAT?! This all happened because THEIR SOFTWARE TOLD US THE RESERVATION FAILED! Looked at their website. Cannot find a live chat or any other way to remove all of our info from their systems because there's no way we are EVER going to use OpenTable again.
I had used Open table years ago and never had any problems. Recently I went back to using them and what a mistake. I've had 2 reservations not show up, one of which was a bonus point of ******* points as they indicated. Sent their support an email about it. The first response was for me to take a picture of my itemized receipt--who does that. Okay I sent my signed reveipt copy. Their response was oh the restaurant cancelled my reservation, but they would credit my account 100 points. That in itself was so much bull. This is a five star restaurant, reservations required, if they cancelled my teservation, I would not have gotten a seat. Lesson learned- things change. Open table is not what it used to be and not a business that stands by their word or reputation.
I ended up paying for my meal without the gift card. Because the restaurant could not find a listing of the gift card.
I asked customer service, at open table, last week about how to precede so this situation would not occur.
And now I am writing areview about how bad opentable is.
