I have been going to the original SCK in both Midtown and Buckhead. Let me tell you SCK Avalon has them beat on everything, food quality, atmosphere, service (Christina is awesome) and more. I had the Risotto and selected Shrimp to go with it. It was the best risotto I have ever had. The place was full of folks celebrating the holiday season which made our experience even more perfect. This SCK has a large inviting bar area which is located as you walk into the hotel lobby area. Overall experience we had a lunch was a 10 out of 10, perfect score!
Password changes never work (despite being in a tech capital of the world in SF?!), frequent website glitches, requests often don't go through. Customer service takes about 1 hour standard to get through to. Just astounded at how horrible the company is overall. I've had to create 4 different profiles due to problems resetting passwords. Why is opentable still used even? So many better sites to use for reservations.
Both times I have tried using OT there have been issues. The first time it was as if someone was logging in as me and changing my reservation. The second time it somehow got canceled and I did not know this until I appeared at the restaurant. They said someone called in that morning and canceled it. I now call my reservations in the old-fashioned way.
Made a 7:30 reservation theThrough opentable for Denim restaurant in Haddonfield NJ on Monday 11/18. Arrive 10 minutes before the reservation to find the restaurant closed! Attempted to reserve a different restaurant but the app won't allow saying modify or cancel first reservation. Attempt to cancel first reservation, but app says call restaurant to Cancel... which is still closed. Ruined evening...
I will make this short & sweet... something the "Open Table" reservation system is NOT. The initial reservation had to be re-entered FOUR times. First, it would not accept my reservation even though all required fields were filled in. A digital clock counts down like a 007 James Bond bomb detailing the precise time remaining until the reservation is cancelled. WHY? The site doesn't highlight the data entry error. Then, it was my phone number. The site confusingly states "Please enter a valid phone number" WITHOUT indicating the tiny graphic next door is the the NATIONAL FLAG OF PAGO-PAGO. I scroll through the entire membership of The United Nations (which, in parts, is NOT alphabetized) before reaching "United States". The Red, White & Blue appeared. Aha. My ten-digit USA STANDARD phone number was finally accepted. If a restaurant is inside the USA, I would suggest the DEFAULT FORMAT be the US Standard. Then I timed out. (Really.) The Fourth Time Was The Charm. I saw a previous review entitled "Never Again". Ditto.
Never again! I made a reservation in my name and the reservation email came back with my husband's name. This is especially unnerving since my husband passed away three months ago. Open Table is a terrible reservation service. I will never use Open Table again!
My husband booked a reservation for us, when we all dress up and show up, guess what the restaurant closed, it suppose to be a private dining, it only open with reservation. We were pissed. Never ever again use open table again.
I feel it necessary to add a follow-up of Open Table. My original review stated Open Table could not re-instate my points. This has changed since I wrote my original review. To be fair of Open Table, the service/communication with the staff was prompt and pleasant. They did show a genuine eagerness to resolve my log-in issues, which was the reason I contacted them in the first place. Shortly after writing the above review, I did received an email stating the points were re-instated. It is my opinion the points were not re-instated in response to the review, but because it was the fair thing to do. Thank you Open Table.
I'm a concierge here on Hawaii and have used Open Table for over a decade servicing our guests. Recently Open Table changed something in my account that wouldn't allow me to add names to a reservation. I called and said they're eliminating my account and upgrading it to a concierge account. Well after over a years worth of accumulated points, hey told me the points cannot be transferred. They just eliminated a years worth of reservations, and now I have to start all over. Seriously, Open Table? The business model is great, customer service not so much... terrible. And will not be using them again.
It works for reservations but the rewards points are useless! After years of faithful saving my points I finally got enough for $50 dining reward. Redeemed it, received an email with "BOOK NOW" link but when I tried to book via provided link it always says "Oops we experienced problems with activating your gift card". I tried multiple times for multiple restaurants with same results. Emailed and called customer service which of course were helpless and only redirecting you to same original BOOK NOW link. Disappointed!
This is the second time they've "expired" my points, apparently because it was 2 weeks past 1 year since I last booked anything there. 2,600 points, or $26 toward a meal. And where you originally received credit for booking automatically, they've changed the app so that you have to check a box to receive your points. This will be the last time I'll book through Opentable.
Hasta la vista, baby.
Booked table for 5, when we show up restaurant said I had no reservation, had to wait for a table, looked like I messed up/forgot to book to everyone else.
Next day open table sent me an email saying I forgot to show up or failed to cancel the booking.
I complained, they sent me "300 points", not sure what that even means as it appears you need 2000 points to earn $26. So essentially they sent me a sixth of a meal in points as an apology.
I should have just called the restaurant!
Booked a table through OT and later the restaurant called to cancel the reservation. Next, I got a rude email from OT teaching me manners and cancellation policies. I tried to answer/explain (probably nobody read my comment) and got another email from OT informing me that this time they will erase my bad record but won't happen next time.
It was the third time in 8 months (about 50% of the time) that a restaurant was canceling my reservation.
Last September, our restaurant group switched to the Open Table Guest Center. It was a horrible decision. The new Guest Center App was very obviously designed by someone that does not understand how a restaurant operates. From a reporting aspect, it may be functional, but for someone who uses it in the restaurant everyday to manage reservations, it is terrible. The web version and app version do not have the same functions. Certain functions from the past open table are no longer available. It is a nightmare to deal with. Problems include but are not limited too: 1. Not being able to see the table turns on the web version 2. Not being able to see how the floor is plotted on the web version 3. Not being able to have the option to send confirmation emails if the guest count changes. It just automatically does it. This is very challenging for me as an event manager, because the guest counts fluctuate frequently and need to be adjusted in OT to keep our team on the same page, but the guest is annoyed all the extra emails. And then if we take their email out of the system we are unable to obtain their in formation for marketing. I have been told for almost a year now that updates are being made to address these issues and sync the web and app versions of guest center, but still not updates. There may be some positive functions but overall a horrible upgrade.
The app insists on my location when I mostly want to make reservations all over the country. Then we argue and I lose, unable to do a thing. Then when trying to modify a reservation, I change the number and nothing happens when trying to select "update my reservation." I don't even think it's a hot link. Just words. Now I must call the restaurant after much frustration. Will simply call to make a Rez in future. Simply awful.
It's getting harder and more hassle to redeem OpenTable points now. For 2000 points, it is worth $10 now instead of $20 in the good old days. Besides that, you need to use a laptop to redeem points. Then you would receive a link from OpenTable in the email. Then you need to book a restaurant using the link from that email. Then you get redirect to a link showing $10 worth reward in MasterCard form. We showed our waitress the $10 reward. She tried and it did not work. She had to get her manager. The manager asked to take my phone away to the register so he could enter the 16 digit number. We then had to sign 2 receipts - one for the $10 credit and the second one for the remaining amount of the bill. I had to apologize profusely to the waitress and the manager for all the hassle they had to go through to deduct $10 off my bill. We tipped the waitress nicely in return. Well OpenTable, thanks but no thanks. Going forward, I will call the restaurant directly to make reservation as I don't believe you deserve to charge $2 per diner for any reservation.
Reward point system does not work. I recently redeemed points for a dining card. The card loaded with $25. The expiration date however was 8 days prior. It was unusable. Called number and no answer. Complete scam. Open Table is messed up!
Used open table to make a booking. Received a confirmation via email. On arrival restaurant did not have a booking for us. Told opentable. They said Sorry for confusion. Will get restaurant to amend their records'. Notice how open tables failure to do their only reason for existence is not grounds for a real apology to a visiting tourist. They seem to think that incompetence on their part is fine.
Our food came out nearly raw twice Left the food and one in our party even got ill from eating it.
They refused to send a manager or owner and when we tried to negotiate the charges they called the police who came We were forced to pay for food we could not eat and they even fraudulently placed a $53.66 tip on my charge card! Most outrageous and I hospitable restaurants ever. PURE FRAUD AND EXTORTION!
I guess you did something to your web suite because I have used it before and was able to make reservations for four with no problem. Now I can only make reservations for two. This makes the web suite less than useless. I have tried about Ten times this year to use it and ended up calling the restaurant 7 of those 10 times. Terrible track record. From now on I will go back to making my reservations at the restaurants. Find your service useless. From the reviews I see, looks like you need to start over.
I tried to use my OpenTable dining rewards in a restaurant and both of the rewards cards were declined! After contacting OpenTable customer service several times, I received no answer. I lost my points! Being a concierge of the Ritz-Carlton on Maui, one of the top tourist destinations in the world, I am hoping that someone has a better idea of a reservation system online. Customer service at OpenTable sucks, and they charged the restaurants in arm and a leg in order to use their system! They came up with this bogus idea that I would have a concierge account, to make it easier for me to make reservations. However, they do not answer any of my emails or any of my grievances... And believe me, there are many. I have never seen a site so fallible in my entire life.
