We have been loyal customers of Brennan's in New Orleans for over 20 yrs. It was the reason we visited New Orleans every year. Then the family feud shut it down only to reopen as a new restaurant without the class of the original. The new chief's menu is inadequate and the alacart format is not customer friendly. We will not be back.
As a gift card receipient-Upon receiving a gift card, you have to activate it, then pick a restaurant, wait for the email to put said gift amount towards your chosen restaurant... And... wait again for the selected restaurant to have the gift amount transferred.
Then low and behold, by the time you show up for your reservation, the gift amount is already zero-balanced, because, according to the restaurant, it has already been used up by "someone else" days before your reservation.
The process was the most convoluted, time-consuming, and lame, joke. And to add 30 minutes to the dining experience to wait for the restaurant to call Open table and then to alert you: someone else has already used your gift card? Ridiculous. And to cough up money to pay for the meal that should've been covered by Open table? Infuriating.
Long story short: Open table gift card: not secured, and a huge waste of time. Do not waste your time or your money to buy opentable gift cards.
I have gone to many restaurants that have not been able to meet my dietary needs. Brio's has exceeded my expectation with each visit. I am on a restrictive meal plan and have several allergies and Brio's has created beautiful and delicious meals that make my dietary restrictions feel more like a treat. I highly recommend Brio's Legacy Village and Jackie R is a wonderful server who is able to get me in and out of Brio within my lunch hour feeling happy and satisfied!

I made a reservation 5 weeks ago fir Sorentino's in Honolulu for 3 weeks for now. Yesterday I received an email from the restaurant to cancel my reservation with no explanation. One needs Ooen Table for WHAT - nothing I guess. Open Table needs to reinvent themselves & reestablish themselves as something needed. Now it's not needed at all
We recently dined at Morgan's in La Quinta Ca. This was our second time; we were here last year also. It was as good and we remembered; even better. The chef is an artist & the food is an experience of taste, texture & smell. This "farm to table" restaurant is an amazing gem.
Had been a member for Open Table for three years. I say had because after today I am canceling my account.
I had been slowly working up to a $20 reward which takes 2,000 points at 100 points at a time until I found a 1,000 point restaurant to go to. So, I made it over 2,000 and went to redeem my "reward"
Despite having hundreds of restaurants in my area, I could only redeem it at about 40. That is the biggest load of bullsh! T ever.
So, for three years, they have been able to research my dining habits at better restaurants for free in exchange for essentially giving me nothing.
DOnatellos in Tampa Florida is superb in every way... with the exception of not delivering what they ADVERTISE... NOT EVERY LADT receives a rose... it
Appears that if you are a regular No problem... if you are ther for your first time, no rose for you...
My wife and i dined this evening at salt and char in saratoga springs, ny. Our experience appears to have been very different than the ones posted outside the restaurant on broadway. The wine pours were small by our steakhouse standards in boston--grill 23, abe & louie's, smith and wolensky, the palm, etc. we thought the steaks were overpriced, and a "medium" steak, usually pink in the middle, was decidedly brown. Appetizers were very good, but in general we thought the meal was overpriced for what we ate, and we eat out a lot.
W small
I made a reservation on Wednesday for Saturday and open table took it and made a reservation for us. Just a few minutes ago today, Friday, I received a call from the restaurant telling us we can't done there because there's no room. This is total bull. There is no "real-time" like it advertises. I don't trust this website at all.
We have finally received our first reward check... They are obviously happy to let this accumulate so you don't redeem it. Tried to use it tonight and the restaurant could not honor it because open table claimed it had been already redeemed at a restaurant 1500 miles away! I will never use this site again... It was convenient and brought new restaurants to our attention but I can see how we have been "taken". Seems to me like someone should start a class action suit against open table! Fraud!
A reservation for three was, according to the restaurant and Open Table, not taken. Although we were at the restaurant over an hour for lunch and coffee, we were obviously not noticed, so Open Table sent an email suggesting we needed a rain check, restaurant businesses fail because of no-shows, and reminding us that cancellations should be made 24 hours (or more) before the booked time.
The patronising admonition was neither deserved nor appreciated. In future I'll take my chance with the restaurant's telephone number and a real non-critical, non-judgemental responder.
This is a great, easy way to make a reservation without having to deal with calling a restaurant. However, you used to be able to use the rewards@ any participating restaurant. Now there are very few. About 12 in the whole NW Chicago suburban area. Tough luck if it isn't some place you actually want to go to.
The reservation worked fine, but they sent me an email accusing me of not showing up, and whining about how the restaurant had lost business. I did show up. We spent a bunch. Next time I will just phone the restaurant for a reservation, these people are very annoying.
This the third time for tying to make a reservation with open table. I always go out several days for a reservation. All three times Open Tables says that I must delay my reservation 2.5 hours later. All three times I have called the restaurant directly, reservation at the time I selected I have made. There is no need to use this service. I would imagine they charge the restaurant a fee for making the reservation and then the meal charge is raised to the customer. A wasteful time experience and probably added expense.
I've used Open Table a few times but now I can't make the website work on either Firefox or Google Chrome. I am very frustrated and I would like to use OT for my next one.
First, I've used Open Table a few times to find restaurants and book reservations without any issues.
My problem with OT stems from the fact that once I had a particularly terrible experience at one those restaurants and left a review on OT it was buried! It's no where to be seen and I'm sure my 1 star rating for it wasn't used in any calculation for it's current 4.5+ stars rating.
So, in short, they're in bed with the restaurants they serve. The rating are artificially inflated and can't be trusted and they actively censor bad reviews for the restaurants.
Sad.
What good is a gift card from Open Table if only a SMALL fraction of so-called "Open Table Restaurants" will take them! What a farce. Phone calls to the "gift card" department went unanswered.
We've been going to The Fish Company for years now and have really enjoyed their fresh seafood.
But there's a new Sheriff in town and he's making sure you don't get too much of a good thing. He's going to charge you if you want more than two (2) wedges of lemon with your meal. And, for those of us who can't eat Saltines, he's going going to charge you $2.00 for a small basket of Captain's Crackers "because they're too expensive".
Methinks the bottom line has bottomed out! Come on Sheriff, is it really worth losing customers over lemon wedges and crackers?
Until then it's BYOL (bring your own lemon) and your box of Captain's Crackers.
Lovely Restaurant efficient service expensive. Bread poor, no restaurant should charge 3.50 an oyster! Tuna Carpaccio oversauced Main cources were very good and well presented.
