Old Trading Post Western Store

Been over 6 months, and at the beginning of the summer it was always the excuse of covid shut them down and they were backed up, kept getting told that it should only be 2 weeks and that was every time I called (I gave them 3 weeks). 2 weeks ago I called them and was told my belt was finished and that "mike" had no idea why it hadn't shipped but he would give me a call the next day, that like I said was 2 weeks ago. Now I've called both the 1800 number and the California area code number and can't get anyone to answer either of them.

Only company that I found that carried the western vest I wanted in XXL. I ordered it quickly without checking the reviews first. I received an answer to my question on the size same day. Got emails confirming my order the day I placed and paid for it using PayPal. After 1 1/2 weeks later I sent email requesting order status. Received immediate reply saying it was shipped the previous week per UPS ( I was charged for USPS priority mail) and that I should receive it on Tuesday or Wednesday. It never arrived. I emailed seller again letting them know that I hadn't received it. I asked how it was shipped and a tracking number. Got no reply. I finally filed a claim with PayPal to get my money back. The seller had 10 days to respond back through PayPal. Several days latter I received an email from the seller stating the item was shipped through UPS and they provided a tracking number. I tracked the package with UPS. A shipping label had just been created that day and shipped that day. So much for it having been shipped almost two weeks earlier. The only good news is the item has now arrived and is beyond my expectations. It is made of high quality matter and very sturdy. I am extremely satisfied with the item. But not the service. Would I have gotten it if I hadn't filed a claim with PayPal? I'll never know for sure. If you order from this company I would suggest using PayPal so you can fall back on them to get your order.

These guys make it seem as if there products are ready to ship, they are not, after seeing my order status as processing for a week, i finally got a hold of someone, after I reported them to paypal. I was told I would be looking at 2-6 weeks for delivery. Told them I wanted a refund and to cancel the order. They then tell me they just shipped it but couldnt give tracking info until I told paypal it was resolved, dont believe them. Very poor service, and just want your money. Now waiting for paypal to refund me

Ordered a gun belt and leather holster for one of my revolvers on August 1st. Hadn't received any confirmation after about 2 weeks so I emailed the owner. He said the holster was being custom fit to my model of gun and to allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. I finally got it today, August 21st. It's made in Mexico and is about as custom molded to my gun as a large mouth mason jar to a small childs hand. This thing is so sloppy I wouldn't dare ride or hike with it because the gun just slops around and can easily bounce out. The hammer loop doesn't instill much confidence. I've now got it laying down flat with a heavy ammo can sitting on it trying to "custom mold" some of the slop out of it. Not happy.

After placing an order I was a little nervous because I read these reviews I was looking for a good poncho to wear for hunting and around the campfire after ordering a couple off of Amazon I was very disappointed and then I found this place once again after the order was placed I was nervous but I called and Mike answered the phone every time once my product arrived which was when it was promised I was more than amazed of the quality I got for the little price I paid I am grateful I found this store I will be ordering more stuff off of them and after we reading some of the other reviews People have to understand getting a custom holster made takes time LOL you could order them off of Cabela's like I did and have to return it four times because it didn't fit my gun anyhow thank you Mike and G~D bless you I will be ordering more items I'm very happy with my purchase.

I orderd a holster 4/25/20 and received it 7/17/20 after asking when I could expect it to be shipped. Two days after my inquiry I received a response telling me it was in the mail. Finally.
The holster itself is beautifully crafted, superbly constructed and the leather is thick and high quality. It would take a loonnng time to wear this out. The measurements were perfect and fit as well as I had hoped and expected.
I am 100% satisfied with the purchase. 4 stars rather than 5 is because wonder if I had asked about it a week or two earlier if it might have shipped a week or two earlier.
If you order be prepared that you may have to wait 13 or 14 weeks to receive your item if it is special order.

Check out the address for this company. No storefront. Where do they get there merchandise? Made by the "family"? Maybe a family in China. Their products are not what they claim. Wool? No. Acrylic. Shame on me though for not doing my homework.

If I could give a zero I would. My husband ordered a holster in August. He never received his order. He has call multiple times and spoke to Mike Stires who said they have a lot of orders. But still no holster. If they have too many orders then quit taking g new ones. Quit giving customers the run around. Better yet, give my husband a refund. He asked for a refund and never got that it the holster. They need to be reported to BBB. My husband will also file a dispute with PayPal. We wished we would have read the reviews before we ordered. So do yourself a favor and don't order from this company! Beware!

I followed all instructions and abided by the policy within 15 days of receipt of the item to return. I emailed saying I wished to return (no response). So, I sent the package. It was marked refused and sent back to me with a note saying I was not "authorized" to return since I didn't complete an "authorization". There is nothing on their website detailing an authorization was needed. And even if they did, they don't seem to enjoy responding to customer's emails or phone messages. Also, the boots I ordered look crappy - not cognac finish as pictured.

I spoke to the owner before making purchase on June 22,2017 of some 19th century trousers. I had bought from them in past years and was always happy with their products and timely service. Now, times have evidently changed. They've had close to a month after taking my payment in full + shipping cost. They have refused to return my emails or phone calls and when they finally returned an email July 17th, they told me there was no one there with the name of the owner I spoke to. They clearly plan to keep my money after I had enough and asked for a refund. The email did not even address my request that my money be returned. I was told there IS no one there with the name I KNOW to be the owner, 4 days short of a MONTH since they took my money. This was once an honest, legitimate business. It's now clear they're in the business of taking money, then forgetting they ever heard of you.
