I ordered items and received my package only to my surprise, I received a damaged clothing item (the seams of the pants were coming apart). I called customer services and was told that I had to pay $10 for returning the item. Wait! What?! I paid over $150 for my order and now I have to pay $10 additional for a return due to the company's poor item. This is the third strike for me and I'm done with this company. Previously, I dealt with rude customer service reps and a 2 month delay on an entire order that the company seemed to not have knowledge about it whereabouts.
They cancelled an item that I bought on sale with no explanation. After many robot-like email exchanges with their customer service (who seemingly have no power to help) they said sorry but you can just buy it again if you want (of course at regular price.) What I thought would be a simple ask—simply ship me what I ordered, instead it ended up being tedious and unsuccessful. Buyers beware.
The quality of new york and company clothing has changed over the years since the company is online...I have been shopping with NYC for at least 20 + and everytime I order something I'm dissatisfied. The sizes are off, the style has change I'm assuming because of all the celebrities lines they bought in. I use to just order my size but now its either to small or to big, or doesnt look as appeared online...I'm paying off my card and moving on... 187.00 left before paid off
Beware of purchasing from this company. If you like their clothes and are happy with the purchase, then great. What separates a good retailer from a bad on is the customer service and how they handle problems or dissatisfied customers. I've attempted a return for merchandise paid over two months ago. I have since opened a case to dispute the charge with my payment company as well with the BBB. NY&CO has lied to me several weeks ago when they informed me that that issued the refund to my PayPal account when in fact, PayPal had never received any type of refund. I was provided one excuse after another and now I have resolved to opening as many claims as possible to get action. This issue has been going on for over two months...10 weeks actually. I feel the company has ripped off their customers by not issuing refunds or not issuing refunds in a timely fashion. They are crooks that have essentially stolen from me. They received their merchandise back, I have NOT been refunded. The Customer service center continues to mount excuses after excuses as to why I haven't received my refund.
The majority of my clothing is from New York & Co. I used to be able to find more items then I could buy on this site. Now, when I looked for some clothes to buy for my Birthday, I couldn't find anything. What happened? The new buyer needs to be replaced or they need to be retrained!
Made a purchase, 2 weeks later there is no shipping notification. I was told I can't cancel my order.
Quality is different. A lot of outdated styles. Prices are great but I miss the real Ny and Co styles
They will not cancel an order,even if it has not been fulfilled or shipped. I tried to cancel an order a few hours after a purchase, as I realized I no longer needed the item. Customer service is trash. I was hung up on, after being told that NO ONE in the company has the ability to cancel an order. Additionally, I was told that I had to wait to get the item, then return it, at which point, they would begin to process the return and refund! SUCH A SCAM! Thank God I only spent $40, but that is $40 that is practically gone! I highly recommend that NO ONE does business with this company! Such a shame, as I use to boast on this company years ago! They are trash now! Never doing business with them again!
What is going on with Ny&Co? I'm a new customer and Ive been waiting on my refund for over a month. Merchandise was received by Ny&Co warehouse March 6th 2023, according to several customer service reps I've contacted. However the only explanation I'm constantly getting is that the warehouse is backed up with returns so therefore the return of refunds are backed up., Shame on Ny&Co for not hiring enough staff to handle there returns. They sure know how get our hard earring money quickly when we place orders with them. If you can't handle it shut it down like you did your stores. Reporting them to the BBB for making promises on there website regarding there refund policy and not fulfilling them.
Returns have to be received within 30 days of the order date, which is especially ridiculous because they take a couple weeks to ship. Supposedly, per their website, returns take 7-10 business days to process. Seems long but I can deal with it if I know what to expect. My order was placed at the end of January, mailed back mid February, processed as received late February. On March 7th I called and was told I would have the return no later than March 20th. March 23rd I called in again. Representative absolutely refused to give me a time estimate to expect my return in and ended up hanging up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I called right back, again the representative would not give me a time frame. I was told no supervisors were available but that one would call me. Never happened. It is now April 6th. I still have not received my refund.
Looking online, I gather that others are having the same experience as I am. I will update this review if I ever receive my refund (which I doubt more and more every day that that will ever happen). I will never do any sort of business with New York and Company again. I will also be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
I just placed an order online. When I went to checkout and pay for my item I realized that the price double in price and I didn't understand why. I called customer service to modify my order and was told that they don't have the capability to modify my order. I then asked that my order be canceled and I was told that they don't have the capability to cancel orders either. My only choice was to wait until my order processes and ships, and I would have to return the unwanted item. Customer Service is non-existent.
You can only return items for refund. Even if you order the wrong size or it didn't fit you don't have the choice to have item replace with same but different size. Which means if it's no longer on sale you have pay higher price or if you used city cash you loose out on that. And the return instructions never includes the reason for return included.
I bought three pair of pants that were supposed to be "regular" size length, they were too long for the description of the "tall" size length. Over 39.5" long! According to the website, "tall" was supposed to be 39 inches. Then I wanted to return they want to charge you to return their faulty clothes. It's been two whole weeks since they have received the pants back. Still no refund!
I shopped at NY and Company stores all the time before they closed and went online for black work pants. While I never had an issue with online customer service, the quality of the clothes are awful. The pants are off black and thin, the pockets are horrible and they never have anything in stock. It's a shame because the stores had some good quality clothes. The clothes online are cheap quality and it shows. I don't understand why you closed the stores just to open a $#*! online version of it. Will be looking elsewhere.
I was just advised, by NY&Co customer service, that The Return policy starts when you place your order, normally that would not be a problem, 45 days to return but with the holidays, and delivery has not been so speedy its a problem!. If you purchase something that was a Christmas gift and it takes 30 plus days to get to your house, the clock is ticking if you have to return. If you do return and it is past the 45 days from when you placed the order, you will not get your money back and I was told by the Rep that NY&CO they will keep your clothes and not sent them back to you, they will return them to their inventory! So basically "New York and Company" are Thieves, they will steal your clothes along with providing poor shipping and customer service care! New York & Company was founded in 1918 as Lerner Shops by Samuel A. Lerner and Harold M. Lane in New York City. Samuel and Harold must be turning over in their graves! What awful reviews about their company are being written all over the Internet! Shamefull!
I use to be a frequent shopper of New York & Co, but will never shop there again! I already thought it was unfair that a company who is "online only" didn't offer free returns… However, I've now had 2 orders 'processing' for over a month; and they are holding $250 of my money! I've spent hours on the phone, trying to talk with someone, but they never pick up. It took about 2 weeks to receive a response to my email, and all they said was their warehouse is behind, and my request to cancel my orders was denied.
I never received an order confirmation email. My items have not been shipped & customer service will not cancel my orders… yet they are holding my money. Also, since the order will now be VERY late (if it even comes), I won't need it anymore…. And based on the companies policies, I will have to pay to return whatever I receive, and then hope they refund me faster than they ship? This is ridiculous!
Never had I experienced longer shipping! Over 2-3 weeks! Then they send the wrong item! This sucks! Other item never was delivered! Also forget about emailing them, they never reply! You have to take the lost with this one
I love there clothes but the company has went so far down hill its not funny.
1st they send you a return/exchange for. When you full it out as an exchange they don't give you a refund or replacement product. When you call then they say we don't do exchanges. Why do you have an exchange form them? You then can't return the product cause you already sent it back.
2. Then they didn't label final sales as final sales so you find out when you try to return.
3. Lastly (I ordered something so cute on sale I couldn't resist) now weeks later I wonder where the product is. I look in the system it says out of stock. So I contacted the company to cancel the order for the item they don't have. They say they can't cancel orders. I give up this is ridiculous fraudulent behavior.
Horrible customer service. I loved their clothes and spent all my budget on clothes there. If haven't heard you CAN NO LONGER cancel your order. I've been eating 4 weeks for a few summer clothes which I still do not have. I waited 17 minutes to speak to someone.
