I always check this site for recommendations on business etc. What is happening in the neighborhood etc. It provides lots of information on meetings and all.
I enjoy a site that serves our Immediate area. I enjoy how the conversations go, on track - off track. I even find the drama interesting, that sometimes occurs, because I am an ole actor and we do a lot of people watching. But I most like how we watch our backs.
I understand the site must have a source of income just as long as it doesn't get overwhelming I get it.
Many pieces of good advice on a variety of topics from my neighbors. Only thing I do not like is quibbling over unimportant issues.
I love knowing what's going on in our immediate neighborhood and surrounding areas. It's great to be able to customize who you want your post to reach.
I also love being able to read recommendations, but wish sometimes I could view other areas when it comes to recommendations. For instance, we have rental properties and I would love to know who is recommended in those areas, not necessarily to look at what's going on with the actual neighbors of that area.
Everything on here is pretty great. Good referrals to places in the area.
I especially liked the Halloween map list idea.
I would like to be able to limit the emails coming to my email and categories. How do I do that.
Have found many new avenues for purchasing, home remodeling, free items and tips on surrounding neighborhoods through Nexdoor. It's much better to learn from others' experiences.
Enjoy the transparency. The media has a bias. The Nextdoor has a Mayberry feel to it.
I appreciate the information and concern of those on Nextdoor. If I make any suggestions it is because I believe they are competent and honest and reasonable.
I've gotten recommendations for handy people as well as dog sitters.
I like Nextdoor. Bits of news, recommendations for businesses I'd never thought of before, sometimes traffic updates. Sometimes just chatting pleasantly.
I was so grateful for all the people who gave names for the necessary things I had to have done.
This app. Is a good tool, an excellent way and informative way to know what is going around the neighborhood. Also love the sale or free items to see what we all have to offer our community.
It is a nuisance to have to put password in every time I want to respond to a query. Since I got a message per an emaiI I supplied to you, it seems like a waste of time.
Also, any chance you could rotate items for sale back to the top of the queue periodically?
Joined up with my junkmail address. Nextdoor hijacked the account & changed its password. Fortunately I'm cleverer than them and got it back in minutes. Have now created a new junkmail password. The cheek of it is that it wants unencumbered access to your email account. NO WAY, I don't mind joining these sorts of groups especially if I have to prove who I am but Nextdoor is asking for to much.
My advice for anyone is to have a junkmail account with no address book associated. I've found it very handy in more ways than this.
Next-door is a user-friendly web site that provides information about the local neighborhood that is not available elsewhere.
Love the neighborhood updates, events, experiences, and sometimes warnings.
I have had nothing but bad luck with this app I would NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANY OTHER PERSON OR BUSINESS! They sell or give away your info
Nextdoor helps keep us informed of issues and events in our Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. It's particularly useful to hear the location of any criminal activity occurs. Nextdoor is also a good source of information on upcoming neighborhood meetings.
Excellent and informative. It is always interesting to read the posts
I needed home repair work done and i used nextdoor so i could get a local contractor to do it. I was happy with the work. I also use it to learn about local events i'd like to go to. It's easy to use.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
