Censorship
June 28, 2020

Nextdoor censorship is alive and well. Was attacked for opposing view and responded respectfully pointing out hypocrisy, since I was told to leave I edited down to nothing to respond after censor police finally approved. I then could no longer thank comments that supported mine. But, I could thank opposing views. Several people have made similar observations. I guess when you start to lose advertising revenue, you may start to listen to other views than your own.

Be prepared to be called out by name by your own neighbor's complaints then get ridiculed, publicly humiliated, harassed, judged, left out to dry and thrown under the bus by your surrounding neighbors. You have no voice in your own neighborhood. You'll spend days trying to defend your views and trying to stick up for yourself. Nextdoor is a billion dollar company and all they care about are the advertisements. They don't care about you, they disable the abused members who don't support their cause. Try to speak out against your injustice and risk being blackballed and put out of business by your own neighborhood. Nextdoor doesn't need you, new users are being brought in every day. They don't uphold their guidelines. They reward and accommodate the angry trolls that carry the highest number of posts and invites and discard those who try to stand up for themselves. Nextdoor corporate is a bully and they're promoting and condoning neighborhood bullying, racism, discrimination and allow FREEDOM OF SPEECH concerning matters of National concern and National Security inviting firestorms of angry internet bloggers. Don't expect anything good to come out of joining NEXTDOOR except a lot of stress and heartache. Get to know your neighbors first before joining because more than likely you're not going to like them anymore afterward. Unless you have a lost pet or you're an angry Internet troll with a lot of hatred to spew on innocent people then this site is totally useless.

Hey do you like being bullied and harassed by complete and total strangers that may or may not live in your neighborhood? Then try NEXTDOOR!

Nextdoor should be renamed to "Karen's Hell Hole!" or "Marxist Leftist Agenda Echo Chamber"

Forget about if one of the many old bags or pathetic soy men locks their chops in your direction. They systematically will "report" and "remove" all of your comments. They will attack you from all directions. Trying to report them will get you know where. I was a "Lead" and I still was unable to get anything done about the harassers. These people are the nosy annoying neighbor on steroids. They have a little bit of power, and they sure as hell will use it. Also, when I did get a report from a Nextdoor employee, he claimed my second ban of 30 days was a result of my post in a private group. Keep in mind, my posts were all about my harassers!

Stay far away from this garbage, Nextdoor's structure of power, only enables the lowest forms of life abuse their power and run amok, target any and all dissenters. The leader of the banchees that targeted me didn't even live in our neighborhood, she was in NorCal (I am in SoCal)!

I was kicked off nextdoor for stating my real experiences and trying to reason with leftist extreme brainwashed neighbors with constructive comments and experiences observations. Neighbors went on spewing these obscene made up underpinned anti American agenda. Nextdoor based in SanFrancisco and backed by a former Walmart administrator and Benchmark Capital among other supporters. The CEO sent out a notice to everyone about racism(when where I come from the black population has the upper hand). They are catered to way over whites, want everything ha drs to them above every other ethnic group and it is so out of hand only a brainwashed idiot would fall for it.

Nextdoor needs to show a disclaimer at the top of their site to advise potential "customers" that they ONLY allow certain people with specific skin colour to join. Nextdoor promotes an agenda and only allows certain events to be posted in neighborhoods. If your "event" goes against the Nextdoor agenda, your post will be removed.
If you post a Comment or a simple response to a neighbor and your question doesn't sit well With the "leads", you will be literally Viciously verbally attacked And your account will be disabled.
This is the worst excuse for a "neighborhood app" ever made. All this app does is cause neighbours to fight and disparage one another. This app literally promotes racism and hatred and hopefully it will be pulled. Either that, or "people" will realize what is behind this app and they'll disable their own accounts!
Disgusting that an app disguises itself behind "bringing people together" and
Then blatantly promotes racism and violence!

They don't seem to have an issue with political postings with soap-boxing, ranting and name calling even though the people are shown again and again violating common tenets of the Nextdoor Community Guidelines, but when someone has undue inflouence on the supposed anonymous community leads, they will apply penalties as they wish. Nextdoor needs to own guideline enforcement and not leave it to a bunch of untrained, unpaid administrators

I was banned on Nextdoor for fifteen days last year for selling eggs. EGGS. But Nextdoor allows all manner of bullying, racism, abortion rhetoric, and hate speech to go on unchecked. What is wrong with this picture?

DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME OR ADDRESS! Posting an opposing view will get you stalked and threatened. If you're a liberal whiner who only wants to hear like minded whining... this is the place for you. Public forums are public forums. Too many fragile people who can't handle disagreement or alternative opinions. My posts were not even reviewed... as soon as someone reports you for disagreeing with them... all that person has to do is report you and you're off.

I was invited by a neighbor to join 2x, the first time, my account was disabled for defending myself on neighbors attacking me. The second time, same thing. The third time, I only engaged on animal welfare posts, and without warning, my account was disabled. The site is full of neighbors who are vulgar and does not allow conservative views. Any little hint of conservatism, you get called vulgar names along with vulgar words. This site is toxic. Glad 3rd strike I'm out.

Untrained biased leads control. Leads will remove other leads that don't vote the right way when reports on content are made. Reporting a lead that continually soapboxes his position with misinformation results in being banned from NextDoor.

I'm just sick of the pop-up ads that keep appearing just as I'm reading. When I joined Nextdoor, we were assured that there would be no advertising! Nextdoor is a Silicon Valley, privately held company, that's worth over a BILLION $$$. IT IS PART OF FACEBOOK! My days will be much less stressed now that I'm cancelling all ties with this consumer fiasco.

I never wrote any harassing posts. I mainly thanked people I agreed with on our freedom of choice not to wear face masks. Presto, I was kicked out of my account for not jumping on the hate train of people who are trying to force us all to comply. Nextdoor seems to be a very liberal organization with little to no tolerance for 50 percent of Americans' opinions.

Nextdoor
June 6, 2020

Nextdoor has good things but also things that need to be worked on.
You can find neighborhood services or handymen, discover what's going on in the neighborhood, find the latest news or gossip, or even a restaurant that might interest you.
However you can also be blocked, removed from the website, or if the neighborhood lead has their personal agenda, they can block you or remove your posting.
A number of neighbors have complained because they have seen leads remove stories that the lead doesn't agree with.
For example, some neighbor recently complained about that online. Nextdoor can and has removed posts criticizing its policies.
For example, I had posted some time back that there were some irregularities with neighborhood security. My post was removed without any kind of explanation, even though a number of neighbors appreciated hearing what I had to say. Nextdoor would say something like, "well you were just ranting. That goes against our community guidelines." So what that means, in my opinion, is that Nextdoor can practice extreme forms of censorship, meanwhile hiding behind the excuse of "upholding Community guidelines."
Also, at times Nextdoor seems extremely politically-correct, almost to the point of disgust.
Nextdoor has these neighborhood guidelines. Whoever wrote the guidelines seems like they might be a fundamentalist Democrat. Most of the supposed offences would seem like they would be not allowed against groups or individuals that would be aligned with the left wing of the Democratic Party. I don't completely disagree with that, but it just seemed so politically correct all most way beyond what may be considered normal. I commend them for standing up against racism, as well as some other things such as neighborhood bullying. But in fact Nextdoor sometimes seems to become the neighborhood bully when they block perfectly fine posts that they happen to disagree with. Or they block neighbors from communicating, by posting a message similar to, "trouble connecting with Nextdoor, try again later." That is just their way of blocking neighbors they disagree with. A neighbor might think they have trouble with the internet, but it might actually be that they're being blocked by Nextdoor.
On a positive note, Nextdoor does have some strengths. They seem genuinely interested in protecting minorities from racism. They want to hinder libel and slander, that is commendable. In addition, neighbors are able to find out about household repair services, neighborhood fun events and happenings, as well as the latest crimes or important neighborhood information.

Any free service IS selling YOUR data. It cost money to run these type of sites. If you create a NextDoor account, you gave up a TON of info starting with a valid email, cell#, and home address. This is golden to marketers. And even more so for criminal 'hackers' And yes NextDoor has suffered a breach exposing its users (well, victims) personal data, including CC# of those SO DUMB to put on their profile. (and that is at least one publicly disclosed breach. Could be others not disclosed.) "We take our users' data security seriously" is what every breached company says AFTER it let it all go bye-bye, thus proving it wasn't but now might be a priority. You NEVER see that statement released before an 'incident'.

Now that said, just because one pays for a service doesn't mean they aren't still selling your data. But they don't need to rely on it's as basic source of income.

Disabled Account
June 3, 2020

It is very sad when someone reports somebody who posted something hateful to the point of wishing them dead, but the one who reported it gets punished. This site has become cliquish and intolerant, seemingly ousting people whose opinions do not align with their preconceived notions. The moderators are self-absorbed and/or not approachable. They had a real chance of helping communication between members, instead, they are nothing more than a self-serving liberal cesspool, supporting bullies.

I have sent and resent the same $#*!ing email for them to VERIFY my email address and EVERY TIME I get the reply it says;
'For your security, this link is expired.
But don't worry, we can send you a new one right away!'

When I get the NEW ONE as mentioned above, I get the SAME $#*!ING response!

Nextdoor should come change their name to whiteguiltpropaganda.com cuz thats what its become here in the Bay Area. Site is filled with liberals that will verbally attack and bully you and label you a racist if you express an opinion that they dont agree with. Mods are liberal so they will censor you if they dont agree with your viewpoint. Definately not a place for free speech. I'm okay if they dont want political talk but some political post get removed right away and others do not. You can usually tell which side of the argument the moderator is on right away

A toilet of a site that is roughshod by unpaid Gestapo "moderators" imposing their social and political views on others. It is technically illegal as it acts as an agent for local governments and police posting their news and alerts. This puts them into a class that demands reasonable free speech. This is never achieved with the untrained volunteer moderators who then become a groupthink gang not allowing any other moderators outside their clique. They seem to duck out of lawsuits. They are clearly in the wrong.
