Completely controlled by snooty, conservative brats. I'm glad to be rid of it. My posts were deleted despite the fact that I never threatened, used profanity or anything else. Now I find that I can't log in. I requested to be added to the board over a month ago and was summarily ignored. STEER CLEAR. I wish I could go back to the days when I was blissfully unaware of how atrocious some of my neighbors really are.
Terrible. Plenty of fake posts and people who actually get all riled up easily over made up stuff that I guess is meant to be jokes... if you point something out, or disagree youre just banned. If you are a real person this isnt for you. Terrible set up.
Nextdoor is completely biased toward anyone opposing Mega housing and they work closely with builders and developers, they intentionally remove de-activate the accounts with lame excuses. Completely unprofessional. You are better off using Whatsapp or Google groups.
Last 4th of July I posted a patriotic, pro police, pro fire fighter thread to thank our local hero's. It triggered some anti American leftists and the moderator, who was also a left wing lunatic closed my account. This company is made up of ex Google socialists out of San Francisco California. I think you are getting the picture. If you love America and patriots as I do., you may want to stay clear of Nextdoor.
Cancel. Cancel. Cancel... A big waste of time! Deleted a post of mine without any response as to why. A website such as this should not even call it a business they are only looking out for their personal interests only! Do not subscribe..."Nextdoor" is a waste of your time!
A TOTAL WASTE OF CASH & EMPTY PROMISES---> Don't give signing up w/Nextdoor another though-it does not work! A 72% price increase (without notice) in 2019 AND you are unable post any of your listings.
Do yourself a favor and don't even think about advertising with this company. They increased one of my zipcodes advertising rate from $30 to $336 per month without my approval. Plus, the open house posts NEVER worked.
I wrote a post making neighbors aware of two Hispanic teens repeatedly walking through the neighborhood. Then two people complained of it being vague. I explained why I put it out. Possible casing neighborhood. Never seen those boys. Ever.
Well post was removed because they said my post was vague. I repo fed to email and then they deactivated my account. After I responded. I explained again maybe they should have read the post and the neighbors who appreciated my post and encouraged me to keep making people aware. Some thanked me also.
I feel that that Nextdoor app employee didn't like that I responded to the email they sent in disagreement. To me that's unprofessional. That employee turned it into a personal issue. And use THIER position to take revenge.
If they do not like your opinion they block your access, limit your first amendment rights. Extremely abusive app that silences people, and silences them during critical emergencies. We must stop using this App, it's controlled by tyrants.
No one will unsubscribe from your end and the links don't work for the never-ending emails I get from you. I just want to be done with this.
I deleted today bc one of the "leads" as she calls herself went off on a nice old lady that had commented about how well these people watched after her dog and recommend them. The lead started in on her being rude and Condescending thing she was not allowed to advertise for a business even though she wasn't and that she needed to check her guidelines that she was sick of people doing that. I read the guidelines and saw where you are not to be rude to anyone for their personal beliefs and leave politics off. This same lead was attacking everyone during the midterm elections saying if they didn't vote for beto they were dumbasses and racist. Anyway I thanked the lady for her Recommendation because we were looking for a dog watcher. The lead Named Melody pelof in Amarillo tx, private message me getting rude and smug asking if I needed help reading guidelines. Basically trying to bully anyone and thin through them if it wasn't in line with their agenda. Told em if they wanted to run it like Facebook they can shove it!
There are multiple reasons to stay away:
1) not really a neighborhood site. You get news about lost dogs from 30 or so miles away.
2) Lots of random posts about events with no info. Ex: "yardsale this weekend in the neighborhood. But since it covers a huge area, you have no idea where
3) Politics. A neighbor started posting these longwinded stories that were essentially political copy-pastas ending with numbers to donate and join the resistance. I reported it as spam and was immediately attacked by the "neighborhood lead". It seems they have a deal with the local DNC. It escalated until threats were made and I quit the site. Now I know how creepy my neighbors are, and they know where I live.
The people in my neighborhood use this app as a social media platform. When you share useful information to keep the community safe the berate you. Then they cancel your account when you are the one being attacked. I would give this app ZERO starts but its not available.
Did you ever see Mrs. Cravitts on the old Bewitched television show? Thats what you get on neighborhood.com. A bunch of busy bodies minding everybody elses business but their own.And the "leads" who are able to delete anyones comments they dont agree with are out of control. Fake News on steroids.
They do not allow you to post ANYTHING of significance. Unless you've found or lost a dog. Cat... bird. Etc.
For some time, this one person has operated under several names, and no one tells them anything. The latest iteration went at me for no reason, as I'd never addressed her, and said that ND personnel refers to me by a racial term. I reported the comment, and far from denying the allegations, some "Kelli" (in their support team) said they'd "taken appropriate action" against the member (none was taken other than removing the thread which she didn't start anyway) and then they threatened ME for *responding* to her (seriously?) and came up with a bogus accusation that I'd changed my account name and that if I didn't change it back my account would be canceled. I've always had the same name. Clearly retaliatory, and possibly friends with the person I reported, since they didn't do anything to her ("her" being used for the latest "personality" the same person has created). This person has countless times violated their rules by "responding" rather aggressively to others, posting off-topic, attacking others w/o reason, and now glowing about the ND personnel calling me by a racial term, and they refuse to do something about it, yet instead they go the extra mile to try finding fault with MY account so that they can cancel it, which is what makes it seem like they are friends with this person.
Im so thankful for this site. It has worked well and been a great tool for our neighborhood. We have had crime decrease due to neighbors working together on this site.
Do me a favor, don't join it and save yourself. A lead got bored and flagged an item I was selling. Her name was Sheri S, then nextdoor shut me down for 3 weeks. My mother also has an account with them too and they shut hers down for no reason. No resource, no explanation, no warning. They don't care, support doesn't care. I even wrote the CEO and politely told her my issue, of course I hadn't heard back and won't.
THis website is run my millinealls and we all know that hey don't tend to think, they just want money.
Their rules are crazy. YOu can't promote yourself, you must set up a business page and they'll hound you for advertising endlessly. I live in Frisco, TX. What weird is that when I was on it, some one would contact me about something I was selling out of my home, wel I would check on their profile and it wouldn't let me see it. Why is that. The leads name is Sheri last name starts with S. From Plano who lives in Willow Bend area. She is to blame.
I have deleted all information since then, I had to have support do it because the invalids had my accounts suspended and I couldn't get in. What's even more hilarious is as I was experimenting with a new account, same address it ultimately told me this address is not eligible for signing up. I'm sure it has to do with my mom's account being suspended.
People need to get lives who run this website. I wouldn't recommend it to my cat.
It was a GREAT Blog when first I joined a year ago or so, referring to the staff quality in helping and responding, now I need help again and suddenly I find a low-level /non-existent Internet support. Subcontracted persons insist on using Internet como although I keep saying that MY COMPUTER CRASHED and I need a phone number to help resetting the contact. I might as well have called the IRS! I would have had a better response!

I have used nextdoor for years at a previous address since moving I tried to get a new start
In my new development. As founder and lead I have been trying to correct boundaries and send postcard invitations to neighbors for 2 months and everytime the website refuses to cooperate all the help I get is a canned answer with instructions to link for that same tool that will not work, no help at all...
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
