They get a single star bc 0 is not an option.
At the time of posting this review it is March 2026, I requested my birth certificate back in august of 2025.
There has been little to no communication on their side aside from repeat requests for proof of current address, which had been provided multiple times.
They are not offering a refund.
These are con artists preying on people in desperation. Talk to your state government records department. They can guide you to actually finding it and the cost is under 40 dollars, they charge nearly triple that at national records.
I implore you, stay away.
I ordered a birth certificate, paying $168 in the hope that this would be quick and efficient. After three months of following up, I still was without my birth certificate and I requested a refund. They refunded about $100 and have refused to refund the rest because of their 'costs'. Now almost five months later they are still refusing a full refund. I am out almost $70 and without the document that I ordered in good faith. To clarify, there was nothing untoward about my request and when I went directly to the State of Oregon I received a copy immediately for much less than I had paid nationalrecords.org. Just go straight to your state authorities and do not waste your time and money on this service. Absolutely awful.
Complete Scam! I requested to cancel my order and they refuse to refund me. They are total con artists and will steal your money! REPORT THEM TO THE BBB!
Do not do it it's a scam they asked me for even more information after submitting everything feels like they want to steal your identity. They also messaged me on what's app at 5am.
I paid a lot of money to this company for my personal records. I have not gotten any results from them, as they say that my valid drivers license is not an adequate picture ID. They will not refund any of my money. I am finding all the review places I can to let people know not to use them.
I too was scammed out of $300 trying to order a birth cert for my son and I for passports. I submitted all requested information such as copies of my drivers license, ss#'s, and everything else that they asked for. Seemed like a legit company at first, until they sent me an email asking for my mothers maiden. Which I thought was very weird, they asked for my mothers name when I was born, why would they need the maiden as well. I log into the "secure" account that I made looking to see where to input this sensitive info, and there was no place, they just wanted me to email it to them. I explained that I was very uncomfortable with that, if they couldn't provide a secure way for me to give that information they could cancel my order. The number provided (202)- is an answering machine/inbox, no matter the selection it goes to voicemail. The woman that called me back said she was in Miami, but I doubt that, she told me the company is based in the UK. I am not going to pay 3x the normal rate to someone in a different country for me to be able to get my birth certificate. Additionally "Janet" as the emails indicate, is now threatening me - "Kindly note that raising a dispute with your bank without attempting to resolve your issue directly with our support team will negatively impact your credit rating. We have established protocols to ensure fair resolution, and we ask for your cooperation in following these guidelines to avoid any unintended consequences." DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE!
UPDATE: They agreed to refund me on the condition that I improve my rating on Sitejabber and Trustpilot. They did indeed refund me the full amount. I am appreciative, but the fact that I had to make my complaints public in order to be provided with the refund I deserved speaks volumes about their business practice.
ORIGINAL: I ordered an official birth certificate, but received an "informational" copy instead (a redacted, unofficial copy, useless to me). NationalRecords.org charged $170, and the receipt provided by the county registrar for the document I received said it cost $60 (with shipping). This means NationalRecords.org pocketed $110 for a document I did not order. They refused to reimburse me any amount of money. Took loads of sensitive information. Possibly identity theft. I was an idiot for going through them, official state agencies charge a fraction of the price for official copies. Moral of the story: nationalrecords.org is a scam. Do your research.
Ordered my birth certificate almost two months ago and paid $168 and haven't received it, I keep calling and talking to the same girl who sounds young and sounds like she doesn't know what she is doing. They are a scam don't order from here asked to talked to someone higher up and she couldn't even give me a number for that. Save your time and money and don't order from this place
3 times as expensive as other sites that ship your birth certificate copy much faster
In addition they are next to impossible to communicate with
Despite not providing all of the information needed and asking for a refund within 20 minutes of submitting payment
They won't give me my money back and have threatened to negatively affect my credit score if I submit a request to cancel payment with my card provider.
Horrible experience
They charged me $168 to order my son's birth certificate. I had to cancel the order because I did not want to wait 3 months for it, plus after ordering I had to go on governmental support welfare because Personal Injury. National Records refused to give me a full refund saying it is their policy to hold on to $68, wanting to refund me only $100. I told them we really needed the full refund not having enough to feed ourselves but they did not care continuing harassing me by sending rude emails continuing to say it is their policy.
