Not too fussed with Web of Trust, (WOT).
To be honest - the rating system isn't set up well at all. In short - I wouldn't trust this site because its got a safe mark from the WOT community. I would go to more trusted sources such as Norton safe-web, McAfee Site Advisor, or even Jabber!
In general - when coming to a new site especially before downloading check with a human based community (I would recommend Jabber over WOT) and then check with an anti-virus company, such as the ones mentioned above.
This site does nothing more than allow people you don't even know to go out and label your site a scam when it is a legitimate business.
How do I know this? Because it labeled my site a scam and a phishing site. Well, please teach me how to do these things, ok?
Oh, wait, I'm too busy running a legitimate business.
Unless you've actually bought from a website, how can you really know that the site is a scam?
One of the people who gave me a bad rating didn't like something I said in a review about their website. What I said was true.
Don't waste your time with this junk. Do an actual search in the search engines to see what the internet as a whole says about a site.
I treat my customers the way I want to be treated. I follow the golden rule, and the golden rule says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Well, MyWot should be removed from the internet. BTW, it's a crime to libel someone and say something that is untrue, and that's exactly what this site does.
In this time and clime of widespread cyber crime and fraud, my web of trust serves as a forum where people who seek cyber security can get it and help others by sharing experiences and inviting others.
I don't care too much for this sites system at all! I purchased a domain just to find out later the WOT had already had reviews on it before I ever purchased the site. The reviews were negative so of course my site has started out with the warning category. I contacted them and explained to them that I had just purchased it is there anyway they could adjust the reviews from the date I purchased the site and they told me no because there was no way to verify when I purchased it and that if I wanted a positive review I would have to get people to register with them and let them add positive reviews. I contacted them again and told them I can send all the documents in to them about it such as when I registered the business with the city and state and also the documents for the date the domain was purchased by me but this time they were rude about it and told me I already told you once if you want your review to become positive send people here to register and have them review you. So since then I have just let it go and I really could care less what it says because with that type of message who is to say a really great site with tons of positive reviews doesn't sell their domain and a real scam site move in there and everyone trusts that the site is great off of the reviews WOT has listed!?!?!? I mean really it works both ways! So I don't recommend them to anyone!
WOT has been keeping my browsing safe for over a year now. I defiantly recommend this to anyone who wants to be more safe while surfing the internet.
I like the wot system - it allows me to avoid going to spam sites that I may have otherwise gone to. I am free to use my own judgement and bypass a website if it's blocked and I still want to go. That is the nice thing about it. It is only recommending I avoid some sites, unlike spam controls in some antiviruses where they don't even give you the option to check it out.
This website is like sitejabber and norton combined.
