There were wrong numbers and homes unavailable. When she actually talked to someone the home was not rent to own. LOL wives listen to thy husband as he's always right! I have had so much trouble with this site. First of all I was never able to get onto the site in the 7 day trial. They gave me a month free, still wasn't able to get onto the site, before the month was up was charged the $49.95, called for a refund they said it would take 3 to 5 business days before I would get it. It's now been over two weeks, I have called them once over this and it looks like I am going to called them again. But not going to be nice this time. For I live on a fixed income and that $49.95 would be pretty nice right about now.

These people call my phone multiple times a day and don't say anything. Then when I try to call back, they hang up in my face. I was called a total of 6 times yesterday. I am starting a log of all the calls I am getting and will open a suite to sue! This company is a scam!

No integrity
September 27, 2017

I don't know what happened to my post so I will say this again. This company has made me lose faith in humanity. I signed up for the website a little over a week ago. I have been trying like crazy to find a home for me and my three boys, so I thought maybe I should give this a shot, it said it would show me rent to own homes in my area, And after searching and searching on my days off work and not having any luck I decided to try it. I paid the $1.95 for the week trial, and when the week is up you are suppose to cancel or they charge like $49.95 ( not sure if the change value is correct) So I sign up expecting to see all these listings and I get two lol, they aren't in my area and one house was 1900$ a month and one was 900$ a month. Well needless to say I don't come from any kind of money and my full time job even on a good week with overtime could clear no where near that. No big deal though it was a couple bucks right? I thought maybe there was some search engine on it I was missing or something to find all these listings so I decided to take a look at it again after work one day. Anyway so I've had a terribly hectic work week, a sick kid who has passed his lovely stomach bug on to me, and when I showed up to work at four this morning there was no boss there to open the door. To make a long story short it's been a really bad day. Anyway I checked my email and remembered that I had signed up for this website so I run and grab the phone to call them before they take the fifty bucks off of my card. I call and the lady tells me that it has been a little over a week since I signed up and that they took the money. I started to panic and I told her my situation and that after paying almost all of my bills that was all I had to last me two weeks, and that I have three kids, trying to make it and to please please put the money back on my card. I didn't think there would be any kind of problem at all. I thought she would put the money back on my card and I could sigh a big sigh of relief and be very grateful. That's not what happened though she refused to refund my money and told me there was nothing she could do about it, I told her I wanted to speak to somebody over her and at first she tried to say that there wasn't anyone higher than her and when I told her I didn't believe that she then said they were all in a meeting. I broke down crying, fifty bucks isn't a lot to some big company but to a Mother with three kids it can mean a great deal. I called my card and I have four dollars on it! I called back praying that somebody human would pick up and I got this other lady, she too told me it was "policy" and there wasn't anything she could do, I was still in tears and have been and I told her that I understood her policy and that I was so sorry that I forgot to call sooner but could she please understand how much I am depending on that money and please put it back on my card. She paused and said let me see what I can try and do for you. Finally somebody who understood! I stayed on hold for a few minutes. And when she got back on the line she told me that she explained my situation to her boss but they still weren't going to help me!?! Wait what?! Yes it doesn't matter how much I depend on that money to take care of my children. They don't care at all that they are taking food right out of my babies mouths?! Did I hear this Right? I lost it I had a meltdown and screamed some very I'm lady like words that I regret now because it isn't her fault, at least she had a heart and was willing to try. I hope the fifty dollars you kept serves your company Well! Maybe you can buy some integrity with it!

Tried searching 4 a home but received nothing but run-a-rounds. Decided 2 cancel... called the day b4 closing hrs & was given the run-a-round. Check my acct. & all my money was there. Called the following day & spoke w Meagan who claims that she was so sad that I was leaving & offered a lower monthly rate on both the Rent to own membership & the credit check membership-I wasn't having it, so I still cancelled. Received confirmation via email that both accounts were indeed cancelled. A few hours ltr... decided 2 check my acct.& they deducted both payments totaling at $89.85. Called this #*******175 that appeared on my bank site & spoke w Steve Sanche who all but claims that he was a supervisor ONLY when I asked them 2 replace my funds. I'm not stopping on this matter. Y'all continue 2 push the issue on this & not let these folks get away w this. Ty

Everything that everyone else has said is true. This company is a ripoff, pure and simple. I could not access any information on homes supposedly available for rent-to-own. Everything was unavailable.

The moment you sign on, instead of directing you to search specific legitimate RENT TO OWN properties, they spam you with all sorts of 3rd party advertisements and redirect you, diverting you to all sorts of sites you were not looking for. It's a SCAM PLEASE BE FORWARNED... This is NOT a site which helps people get from rent to own directly.

No matter what zip code you enter for your search, you keep getting the same list of properties over and over. I checked the website once daily, every day, for 7 days, and just kept getting the same properties over and over. I never was able to search for a home in my desired zip code.

This day and age, you're a fool not to utilize the Internet for reviews; everything has reviews anymore. So I went to MyRentToOwn.com reviews and there it was; SCAM! Whoever the people are behind this one... well, let's just say they have bought and paid for their karma tenfold! The universe will not allow innocent people to be preyed upon without consequences. Lastly, I want to thank all of you who wrote a review. Because of you, I was spared a tremendous amount of time, energy, and aggravation. God bless you all and be well.

Scam
May 16, 2017

I cancelled my membership on the 6th day and when the 7th day came they took money out of my account and when I called they stated that I didn't call before to cancel the membership but I did so they supposedly refunded my money back to my account and it has been three weeks now and every time I call they tell me to give it three to five business days and I still haven't gotten my money back. I'd advise anyone DONOT let them talk you into this my rent to own because you could use Trulia or Zillow to search for homes. They tell you that they have rent to own homes but they are liars. Please I'm begging you please do not let them take your money. I'm pissed that I haven't gotten my money back yet

SCAM!
March 8, 2017

I signed up with My rent to own and cancelled in the same day! I went through all the steps that was required only to get a listing of supposedly homes in my area (which were 50 miles away from where I had asked), only to turn around and contact the realtors for them to tell me they have never heard of this company or from other ones they had no homes available. The info was phony. Really don't even understand how Lexington Law partners with them now I am questioning my signing up with Lexington Law. Very disappointed and PLEASE listen to ALL the negative reviews on here as they are VERY accurate and trying to save you from future mistakes.

Now every number I try to call back has been disconnected. I was only looking for listings. No such thing. I even asked " this sounds like a scam?" I already turned them into SS. Office incase they try to steal my identity. My credit was fine. I only wanted listings... they insisted and automatically transfred to the credit repair law firm. I have MS and get confused easily and they had me in circles... Im not letting this go...

It wont take long to recognize its BS. The listing has everything thats already available to view for free on REAL legit real estate sites such as Zillow and Trulia. No pictures and the homes are usually not even truly rent to own properties. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure that when you call them to cancel your free trial or membership - be specific. When you 1st sign up for the free 7 day trial they make you sign up w/ clickfreescore.com to get your credit score... this is 2 different memberships. If you accept any other offers those are also separate memberships of which you will pay a separate membership fee. I called the # given on the myrenttoown.com site to cancel that membership and he canceled my clickfreescore membership. Thankfully I was paying attention because I looked at the cancellation confirmation email and it showed "Identity Protection Membership Cancellation". I didnt even sign up for ID protection. I looked for another # to call and found *******326 - called and told them I need something in writing stating that my myrenttoown membership had been canceled. Dude put me on hold for about 5 min - came back to tell me I still have an active account. Once I went through all the same bs to cancel the 1st membership I asked him to check his records to ensure that I dont have any memberships with them or their affiliates, he assured me that I dont and then I got an email showing it had been canceled. These ppl are crooks. Plain and simple. Dont waste your time and protect your pockets!

It is a shame that a company exists that preys on the less fortunate, but such can be life. It is a good thing that so many people were able to share their negative feedback.

Renttoown is a fake company that is prying on people with bad credit trying to purchase a home or at least they think they are, ever time you call they will give the run around if you get through. They will take all of your personal information including your credit number. Stating your can view the homes that are listed on their site. The site really looks for real it fool me and I consider myself somewhat intelligent. I called the realtor that was listed on their site, the lady that answered the phone stated no one by that name worked with Century 21 and that she have been with century 21 for the last 10 years and had never heard of this person. They initially only charged what they said they would 1.95 but after that your card will be charged 49.99 dollars a month they will try to get you to stay for at least one month by giving you the run a round when you call them, Imagine if they did this to least 10 people in one day. And what's really sad this coming is nation wide. I had to cancel my card. Please don't give them a chance to get your money for nothing, Just ask them how they get paid for their service to you they can't tell you it's a BE AWARE IT IS A SCAM, passed this on to your friends and Family.
