Short version, one year ago after submitting my DNA test I was heart broken. The only matches I had were 4th and 5th cousins. My mom had always kept my dad a secret from me. All I knew was his name and that he was from Michigan. I would check My Heritage website every week hoping for a match. I had even tried other DNA sites. After a few months I started thinking these DNA sites are bogus they are just ripping people off. Then last week with what little hope I had left I checked My Heritage for matches. I could not believe my eyes. I had a 28.6% match. I filled with excitedment. This was as close as I had been. I wrote the lady that I shared DNA with and it turns out she is my aunt. My dads sister. I have not been in touch with my dad yet. I was told he is kind of a free spirit. My life changed over night from having little family to gaining a huge family that welcomes me with open arms. Thank you My Heritage for changing my life. Thanks to my husband who bought me the My Heritage DNA kit for Christmas in 2016.
I am very happy about Myheritage after using it for approx. One year, first the online version, and thereafter Family tree and the online version in combination. Criticism encountered regarding errors in the data content to me seem quite unjust. The data come in great part from the users themselves. It seems oblvious to me that all users are obliged to use their common sense to evaluate the information, just the same way as is necessary when searching personally in different public information sources. The latter however would be a far more timeconsuming process. A great part of the joy in Family story research is in fact just the challenge of the evaluation. If all information was 100% ready and correct for consumption, the process would be far less interesting (and the amount of information available would be far less in quantity, diminishing both the challenge and the joy). Thanks also to the people that I have spoken to at Myheritage for very friendly cooperation in solving my problems, especially Mathilde who was extremely patient with me last time. Thanks again!
All I can say is, "Ancestry.com has nothing on this place! I recommend this website above all the others because they have fast and extremely efficient customer service. Their prices are much much lower and they do all the work for you quickly. Don't go anywhere else, just Myheritage.com

I paid for the 9.95 per month package and then they stole 120 pounds from me. Now its saying I don't have a membership and need to upgrade to see records. So they steal my money and I'm not aloud to see anythingon the website. Trying to get back my money, please don't use myheritage.

I lost my password, but had the opportunity to use the account number of one of my parents in order to get to customer service. From there, I was able to get the help I needed, although it was frustrating that I couldn't get to the customer service without an account number.

I wanted to know which specific countries I was from in North and West Europe. Nicole took a lot of time to explain to me why that isn't possible in countries that border each other as they do in that area and that it goes back before those countries even existed. She explained several other scenarios and took all the time that was needed for me to understand. I really appreciated her help.
Although the wait on the phone was not too long... I was 6th in line and it went rather quickly - about 10 minutes before I spoke to a representative. My question to him and his answer only took about 1-2 minutes (and that was because I was not on the correct screen - or it would have taken less time!) and I quickly found out the answer and am very pleased. Overall - MyHeritage has been an excellent choice for me and they are so very knowledgeable and professional and always innovative and pleasant to work with.
I had a question about my Irish heritage and why it did not show up in my DNA sample and Alon was very helpful in explaining the difference between historical data and DNA sampling data. I feel much clearer about things now and she was more than helpful.

I have been a fanatic about my heritage, genealogy and ancestry for some time now. The name of this organization fits it perfectly. I started my family tree a while back but always hit a roadblock. My family ordered me a DNA kit for Christmas and has been an addiction since. I signed up for the premium service to challenge myself along with finding additional family members, so that I may pass it along to my child and share this information with my immediate family as a gift.
I have called a number of times to chat with Customer Support and have always been treated with the utmost respect. The wait time on hold was a bit long but well worth it. Perhaps a solution is to bring on additional support. Once Aaron McCorkmack the Customer Support Representative assisted me. We were able to resolve my issue together. The matter is still unresolved, but I am optimistic that Aaron will follow through to have this matter resolved. Having a great deal of patience, great customer service is the key and success to any business. It is very important knowing that the client is happy in the end with results.
Looking forward to completing my tree and using the additional services such as the genealogy department to fulfill my dream.
I've been able to trace my family tree 30 generations. It's been an incredible ride through the history of my family. Awesome to know your ethnicity. When I've needed support, my heritage has answered my questions and given me guidance.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

MyHeritage offers an assembly of free and paid subscriptions that will fit your research and budget. This includes a free basic membership and a free downloadable Family Tree Builder program.
It seems you have purchased a Premium membership instead of a Data subscription. A data subscription is a separate membership because it expands as more historical data is uploaded from MyHeritage partners that require royalties on its use by customers.
That being said, some features require a paid membership to ensure the development and upkeep of our research tools. Some of our members prefer to only pay for some features as they don't really use the entire array of tools we offer. This is why we offer separate subscriptions along with a full complete one.
