Started a 14 day free trail on the 04/07/23 and cancelled it on the 05/07/23. Last night I get a notification from my bank saying I have been charged £114 for my heritage! All day today I have tried to get incontact with someone about a refund but no luck! Reading by other reviews on Google its not a uncommon problem! Worst company ever!
After a long discussion MH said there is a bug in the program. I wait already more than 2 years (start dec. 2020) for the correction. And there are 4 other problems, who are still not solved.

Automatically billed $299 dollars one year after my daughter did the least expensive dna test with them. This is a crooked company which is attempting to scam people. Don't expect any help from their "customer service."

Within this email, there are listed the benefits of the subscription and also instructions on how to cancel the automatic charge at the end of the free trial period also shown is the renewal price for the following year.
Additionally, before a subscription is about to expire, a “Friendly reminder” email is also sent a few days in advance, again, with instructions on how to cancel should you not wish to continue.
We do however understand that these emails may be routed to a junk or spam folder and therefore get overlooked.

Ordered health DNA for son in law and never got it. Instructions said to go to DNA, manage my kits and out from the name it would say complete questionnaire and that does not exist. No offer of refund, expensive program (they offered a discount and when I attempted to re-sign up it did not show). I use 3 other programs and this is the worst.

I have had no response after money was taken from my account. Had tried numerous times to cancel my free subscription and tried phoning the number doesn't connect. Email no response... an absolute nightmare... but I will not give up they will give me a refund...please do no use this site.

I bought their premium plus plan but for the wrong family tree. Changing it is nearly impossible as customer service is need and they never pick up actually saying that this is because I am not a premium member even though I payed 200EUR.

I purchased a DNA kit as a birthday present for a friend, unbeknown to me, I was automatically enrolled into one month's free trail. The first email I received from MyH, apart from the conformation of the DNA purchase, was when the free trial ended and the same day they took £114 annual fee from my paypal account.
The free trial had never been accessed, and therefore I thought this error could be rectified. I was told by MyH that the DNA kit was reduced to £43 when registering for the free trial. I explained that I was unaware of this, that I had no use for the service of their website. They were uninterested in this explanation and did not give me a refund. They did, however, credit my paypal account with £40 and told me that I would be able to access their website for the next year. I feel that I have been somewhat duped into this annual fee, something I do not want and will not use and something I feel a genuine company would not do…

Originally, it seemed to be a great idea. Got my dna. Read the information. All was great. Then about year later, I noticed that the information on my ancestry had changed. Contacted customer service. They said they would look into it. Next thing I know its all completely deleted and I have no dna results. So I didn't renew. Went back on with a free trial to see if they had straightened it out, but nope. All my account info was there with absolutely no trace of me ever taking a dna test. I hit cancel. Got a confirmation. They up and charged me for a whole year anyway. I complained. They offered me 40% back and tried to keep selling me the benefits of their site. Dont use this company for dna. Go to the more reputable sites like ancestry. These guys are not helpful, the program is a mess and its just not worth the hassle.

On June 26 I was charged $316.94 for an automatic renewal. I was not aware of the upcoming renewal. Last year I received a call from My Heritage and they made me an offer to continue the subscription. I did not realize accepting the offer on the phone changed my renewal to automatic.
I sent a message to their company about a refund and received a call from their customer service team. He looked at my account and said I received an e-mail 30 days prior about the renewal. Because I was sent one e-mail about the renewal he would not refund the amount, but would offer me a free DNA test and an extra three months subscription.
My Heritage did advise I received an e-mail a year ago confirming my renewal and advising I was on auto renewal. They also stated a reminder e-mail was sent out 30 days prior to renewal. They also stated that their e-mails get caught up in spam folders. I do not remember seeing the My Heritage cancelation e-mail and if I did I would have canceled the subscription. Probably like many people out there money is extremely tight and this subscription will have to wait for my family's sake. At this time a DNA test and adding three months to the subscription is not the best for my family
Admitting their e-mails can get sent to spam e-mails you would think a company would have sent more than one notice about an upcoming renewal. If I did get the renewal 30 days ago and canceled the subscription at that time I would have never received the renewal charge. I completely do not understand why a company would not want to make a customer of five years happy and when funds are available renew to their subscription.
I have followed up with to e-mails to the company asking to reconsider this no refund stance and I have not heard anything back. I reviewed their company on another review site and they replied to send an e-mail to them. I have done that but have not heard back. Not sure what to think about that, but it does make me think it makes them look better in the Review site by offering to help and then never reply to the customer's e-mail?

I got the DNA-kit 7 months ago, and sent it back in January. I didn't hear anything back at all. I contacted support and it turned out it got lost in the transport. They offered to send me a new one right away without any additional charges.

My Mothers side 1600 Finland. Unbelievable. Nobody was aware of this history!

I ordered a DNA kit for my 94 year old grandfather (which i manage from my account). We followed the instructions, activated and posted the kit via post more than 3 months ago. There has been no notification of receipt from the lab. Additionally my grandfather was charged $150+ for a subscription to their site following a 'free trial' he had no knowledge of. I rang my heritage to try explain the situation and request a refund and was only able to leave a voice message. They never returned my call. I emailed (twice) with no response. I am furious. We have spent close to $300 and there has been no product, no results and NO customer service.do not recommend!

Satisfied user for several years and recommend, however when rare problems do occur it takes too many days before someone replies to the issue posted. That being said, once customer service does contact you, the tech people are quick to diagnose and offer solution. Kudos to the My Heritage Customer Service team!

My family tree I have worked on for decades was altered. Names were changed from birth names to who knows. Daughters in law we changed to their mothers in law. When I complained I was told that there was "theorized genealogy"! Do not trust these people. I have no clue what they are up to. The person I dealt with "Daniel" was incredibly condescending.

After posting this negative review, the company did reach out to me and issued a refund. I just wish it hadn't been such a hassle.
They do not have a customer service phone number. When you email them at their support email on their website, they do not respond. I have sent 3 emails so far. They renewed my gift webinar subscription without my approval and without any pre-notification.

I paid 200.00 for the full access package to Myheritage. Animation feature does not work. Other features work randomly. I've reach out to customer support and just get replies saying "a ticket" has been made for my issue but they aren't doing anything to fix the animation problem. I've found this to be a total waste of money.

I bought a yearly subscription for information that basically readily available online. After two months, my subscription disappeared and i had no one to talk to. I had to resubscribe thinking it would find my subscription but it just charged me again. My DNA kit took two months to arrive and the kit that arrived had a different number than the one on the website. The number on the kit is not recognized and when I called them they said I would be put as a priority call and would get an answer in two days. After a week I sent them another message and they replied saying I should go to whoever I purchased it from. I showed them proof i bought it from them and they claimed I gave mine away as a gift and received this kit from another source (?!).
TL:DR, they made a mistake with my kit number and are refusing to recognize it now, they charged me twice for subscription. SCAM!

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
