I was given a MoviePass but never received the card from the company. When I reached out to them, they said they would send me another one, which they never did. And when I got back to them once more to complain, I got an automated answer saying that my ticket was closed. No way whatsoever to contact them through their website as you first have to pay a new subscription, which I am of course not willing to do. The company sucks!
I thought this service would be great, well they keep botching it. I signed up for one-a-day annual, and it started out great. Then they started getting blocked by theaters not allowing access to their loyalty program (can't get points for tickets bought with MP card). Then they started changing the plan limiting what can be seen when. I get an email saying my annual plan will be reinstated but not renewable when over, ok. Then their support pretty much became unavailable with support issues summarily closed without be addressed (and I was trying to point out app failures). Now it seems they are back to limiting annual plans to three movies a week. Just can't say what's going to happen next.
Work the numbers and consider the benefits and if it works for you fine, but it seems every week they are trying something else and it's not being communicated.
My son bought me this gift for Mother's Day not realizing that it will not accommodate people who are in wheelchairs. Since I require wheelchair seating, I tried to call to call to make sure they don't charge my credit card. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!
They do not respond. They like to take your money and run! Don't use this website - they discriminate!
Overall, let's face it, MoviePass is a great deal. You pay $10 a month to see movies in theaters. I signed up in February and I loved it. This was when unlimited really meant unlimited, meaning that I could go see a movie a day, any move (sans 3D or IMAX) in any participating theater, which is what I signed up for. The creators then began asking for photos of movie tickets, which wasn't a horrible inconvenience. However, the weekend Avengers: Infinity War released, without warning, MoviePass rolled out another update and limited all movie viewing to a single viewing. Shady and suspicious, to be sure, but acceptable despite its unfairness. Most voiced their concerns and were ignored. Suddenly, MoviePass started promoting that unlimited movies was back, but it is not. You still can only view each movie once. So, beware of the false advertising they consistently do without any concern for how their customers feel. Another thing to note is that getting through to customer service is next to impossible. When my card was shut off randomly for no reason, I called 4 or 5 times, and kept hearing that there were too many people calling and I had to call back later. Then, when I got through, I was on hold for approximately 30 minutes of the 55 minute phone call to resolve the issue. In addition, any texts you send through the app vanish after you read their response, so you cannot pull up the conversation later. Take screenshots of any conversations you have. So, yes, regardless of the shady dealings going on, one can definitely admit that the value for the money is great. MoviePass would be a great deal better if they actually had a customer service department that was available to help their customers and didn't ignore the suggestions, concerns, and complaints of their customers, and if they stopped their false advertising.
I loved it till they changed the app. You have to type in your code right away. You used to be able to use your code to get your ticket later. But, now you have to wait till you get them at the theater.
I ordered this service as a free trial. I was charged instantly. I contact customer service, no response. I was told I wouldn't be charged again until I activated my card. The card never arrived, and I was billed for two additional months. I contacted them multiple times, with no avail. My advise if you have an issue contact the Better Business Bureau. They handled my concerns promptly. As far as Moviepass.com, I highly recommend you advise this terrible service.
