Absolutely deplorable company who didn't provide the top up I paid for and later went on to try and charge me £49. Fortunately my bank blocked them from taking the unauthorised £49. Avoid at all costs they are scam artists.

When you use their service to top up, they then take another £49 from your account. Luckily my bank declined the payment and they are now blocked from debiting money from my account. Many people have suffered this experience with them, and they are also posting fake positive reviews on review sites.

Topped up £5 and the following day they took £49 for a subscription I didn't sign up to. Tried to ring them and the phone number is fake.

Lack of respect

Worked for 51s

This keeps the criticism firm and specific, while accurately acknowledging what they said about the payment.

Order cancelled, account suspended, and an unnecessarily dismissive response

I placed an order with MobileRecharge in good faith. After it remained pending, I contacted customer support.

On 24 October 2026, I was told that my order had been cancelled following internal verification procedures, my account had been suspended, and no further orders would be processed. The company declined to explain the specific reasons and recommended that I use another provider.

I understand that businesses need security checks and cannot always disclose how those checks work. My complaint is about how the situation was handled. Their response offered no practical opportunity to clarify the issue, provide further verification or request a review. I found its manner and tone dismissive.

The payment position also needed clarification. Their email stated that the transaction would not be processed and that any pending card authorisation would disappear within 48 hours. I subsequently asked them to confirm whether the payment was merely authorised or had actually been captured, and to clarify any necessary refund arrangements.

I have since read other Trustpilot reviews describing similar cancellations and unexplained account suspensions. However, my assessment here is based on my own experience and the correspondence I received.

If MobileRecharge does not wish to accept my custom, that is their decision. But I consider it unreasonable to leave a customer with an unfulfilled order, an unexplained account suspension and no clear route to resolve the underlying issue.

In my opinion, this was poor customer service. A courteous response, clear payment information and an accessible review process would have made a considerable difference.

I will update this review to reflect any substantive response or resolution.

BEWARE very sharp practises in debiting money from your bank account
This company is a scam. I mistakenly used them to top up my data with EE because their website interface actually deceived me into thinking I was actually topping up directly with EE. The way their payment system works using codes to validate payments cannot work with data anyway as there is no interface to use to enter codes they generate. After contacting them to obtain a refund for £30.00 which hasn't appeared back in my bank account I now find they are trying to debit my bank account for a monthly £49 account fee. AND I'm locked out of the account anyway. They appear to be authorised by all the major mobile phone providers as they use their logos, but I wonder if in fact they have sought and received approval based on the methods used to obtain payments from customers, which is very suspect to say the least.

This service is a scam - they say you can top up for £5 but in actuality they signed me up for a £50 monthly subscription service without me even knowing it. They say it's in the screen when you sign up, but it isn't. These guys are scammers, and now I'm stuck with my information on their website, as I cannot figure out how to delete it. I'm now out £50, and their customer service is absolutely ridiculously rude talking over me and trying to pick a fight. So unprofessional.

Scam. Avoid, Run Away!
May 27, 2024

SCAM! - Credited my Moroccan SIM card with around 20 euro and received confirmation from Mobile recharge it had been successful. On landing in the country the SIM would not connect to Orange the provider so I went to the Orange desk were they sell SIMs. The lady put my SIM in there reader machine and I was informed the SIM had been turned off due to it going past its date. It was literally 10 euro for another SIM with data to last another Month. Contacted Mobile recharge who said the credit was successfully added and they called the number. I called the number and it didn't work, I also sent a WhatsApp and it wasn't delivered either Do not bother with this company or recharging, its a complete SCAM. They will take your money and if anything is wrong completely dismiss you and that your wrong, even though the telecoms provider told me directly the SIM had been turned off.

I signed up on a website called www.mobilerecharge.com.

Then i Recharged a Spanish Vodafone number from me. The Processing took 15 minuts till they called me to ask if i whant to reload that number more often. I sayed yes then they charged it after 19 minuts.

After that i whanted to recharge a other number for a data stick in Spain and then they Processed the Order took the money from the credtcard (same as befor) but this time i got email after 5 minuts that i need to change my credit card and enroll 3d stuff for it and then that should be more save for them and me.

But remember they already processed a order and also again processed and took the money. After they got the money the send out email to me to do additional steps to get my phone charged i cancled that order because it is faster to go to a store or even the phone providers website for recharge i dont got the money back after 5 emails and 48 hours waiting they only say nothing gets processed i dont get charged i can re use the money but that simply not true so i think they take money re invest or do other buissnes with that money.

PLZ Stay away from them there is not sadisfaction and they dont even print on website that first recharges can take up to a week till you modifyed your credit cards and all this extra stuff its simply fraud to lock you into the offers.
