I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran. I needed an attorney only once in late 2015 to represent me in a divorce proceeding. Not knowing what to do, coupled with what I call a nervous breakdown, I chose Magner and Hueneke LLP of Greenfield, WI, and was introduced to Chris Hueneke, a very charming scammer who makes promises he knows he won't keep. In my case, he wanted an upfront $2500 fee. As the proceedings advanced, I received a property settlement proposal from my wife. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife and wish her the best. I thought I could provide a counter proposal. Hueneke looked at it and threw it away, not even considering it. I obtained two estimates for the value of my home, one at $145k and the other at $150k, with appraisers actually visiting, taking measurements, and closely inspecting the home and property. My wife obtained an estimate from someone in Minnesota who never visited the property. That estimate was $110k. At the court hearing, Hueneke appeared disinterested, sat at the court table looking at the wood grain, and apparently thinking of something other than the proceeding. The court accepted the settlement proposal from my wife. Hueneke challenged nothing. I nudged him hoping he would say or do something on my behalf, but he was lost in his own thoughts, said and did nothing. After the hearing, I asked him why he did not advocate on my behalf. He shrugged his shoulders, threw up his hands, but said nothing. I don't think he had an excuse for his deplorable behavior. He later sent me a bill for another $700. This man is totally despicable and incompetent. His only goal is money. A look at their website makes Magner & Hueneke, LLP, look like very professional attorneys, but, if anything, they are legal scammers, especially Chris Hueneke.
