Merchant one is a scam
January 28, 2025

Beware!aHi all! I am urging you to beware of this scam. Merchant is a Miami based fraud operation luring businesses into processing their payments, once they are holding enough funds, they "terminate" your account for no reason, which allows them to debit you for a termination fee and will hold all the funds you've processed. Even better? Every phone number and email address you've previously been in contact with will be terminated. Each time I try calling the number we used to contact them, it says it was was closed. This is a absurd scam at scale and I urge you all to look for legal support.

Merchant one was hands down the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life! All of their representatives are complete liars, shysters and scammers! If you go to Trustpilot You will see they have a 4.8 rating with them. How could this be possible you ask? The scam goes like this, you create a website that allows people to leave bad reviews for Mega Corporations that you could not leave one for on Google or Yelp... the merchants are then having a reduction in profits because of these reviews so then the merchant appeals to the company, say Trustpilot for instance. As a benefit of now being a sponsored member of Trustpilot, they will enjoy close to a 5 star rating by submitting so many fake 5 star ratings it drowns out the thousands of one star reviews that were on their account. Isn't it great that these mega corporations are being held accountable?!?!?!

Bait and Switch
February 21, 2024

Without doubt this is the worst merchant company I have ever had
The misfortune to deal with!

Full disclosure everything started out pretty well
I would submit an American Express card from my customer and they would process it within about 72 hours charging me a nominal fee of about 3 1/2% ( as promised)
So that's what I signed up for a little did I know this was a perfect bait and switch?

So recently I charged another American Express card and this time I was charged 9%.?
My phone calls were useless you're on hold for 45 minutes if you're lucky before they cut you off?!

I was dealing with Kira Grissett and then her associate Felix Thompson and both of them giave me nothing but lip service but in the end were either totally incompetent or deliberately miss -lead me?

I have been in my business for 30+ years and I've never been treated in such a disgusting fashion

I know they strive for those rave reviews to help secure a possible raise well if their boss reads this I hope he/ she realize how poorly they treat their customers?
I waited 14 days for this thing to process before I got any monies not to mention the exorbitant fees attached.
If you can find another merchant company my suggestion is... run don't walk my next course is to the Better Business Bureau these big tech companies try and bully the little guy and unless someone stands up they get away with it I've been in my own business for 30+ years and I'm not going to take it anymore

I started a mail order business and this vendor was refered to me. After two months I decided not to continue the mail order business, and requested that they cancel the service. They said there would be a small cancelation fee; but did not inform me as to how much. They went into my business account and drew out $850 as a cancelation fee. When you see this company you should RUN AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. There are many honest companies out there, but certainly not this one. Remember the name: Merchantone
