They do a fabulous job in the presentation. You really know what you are buying. I will take issue with the potential ambiguity in wording for electrical products. I bought a pair of Klipsch speakers for $450. The description says the speakers are working... quote "as per the seller"
When I got them home they were not. We have not deduced why and will investigate further when we have time. The description lacked info on the tweeters being non original and that they were not attached to the body of the speakers.
Its an auction therefore everything is "As is" so I am basically screwed. You are basically gambling on online auctions.
Many goods are not checked and one should never take the word of a seller. Of course you will miss many potential buys because others will not be so careful. The answer is to give money back if not working when sellers says it is. Or let us come and check the product out ourselves.
They also misuse the word art and print. A print is exactly what it is. A mechanical reproduction of an original maybe. Art is surely a piece crafted by the maker or producer. If you are careful there are many bargains. Furniture is an obvious. In fact anything outside of electrics and that described as art, is a safe bet.

Many thanks to MaxSold for helping to manage what was an important stage in my life: downsizing from a lifetime of collecting artifacts from around the world. This was an unusual sale in many ways. The objects themselves were not the customary household goods. I was happy to see that the MaxSold marketing efforts reached the right people. It was a joy to meet the auction winners. They were truly interesting people- well traveled and excited to claim their new possessions. It made me happy to know these beloved objects were going to a good home.

I have now shopped through MaxSold a couple of times in a couple of different cities here in Colorado. I have been really impressed with the quality of the items and happy with my purchase. But what set MaxSold above the crowd is there customer service. No matter how many people are at a sale, picking up their items, the employees are friendly and extremely helpful. I have also been impressed with the measures that these folks take in caring for the property where the sale is taking place. It's a balance to satisfy both the end customers and the client. In a world where customer service is quickly disappearing, I have been so pleased with the service from what is ostensibly an online service.

This year I purchased a candelabra that was advertised as being Sterling Silver. When I won the item and got home with it I realized it wasn't Sterling. I wrote to Maxsold and told them what happened. They reviewed my email and then offered my money back. I didn't pay very much at all. I decided to keep it and resell it on eBay. The fact that they offered a refund made me realize they are a top notch business. They stand behind what they say. They have me as a life long customer.

I can not praise the Maxsold team enough from helping me do the contract online to the four members of the catalogue team coming to my home. After looking days before at their video to help me understand the process, I took colored post-its and put them on everything I wanted to be in the auction and what I wanted to keep for my move. As a widow, letting go memories is not easy. When the Maxsold team came, they put my mind at ease that everything would go as plan until the last item was carried away. I can not thank them enough for there excellent service and support. I recommend them highly and have also recommended them to my friends.

I'm always amused by 1-star reviews, so I always read those first, regardless of the business being appraised. With Maxsold, it is invariably comments about items not reaching some pie-in-the-sky valuation that the seller seems sure they would've received if only they had used some other medium to dispose of their grandmother's belongings. I've never sold anything with Maxsold, but their terms and conditions seem straight-forward. I suppose if you don't read the contract, or have comprehension difficulties, you could become confused.

As a buyer, I enjoy the experience of Maxsold. Being able to browse what is essentially a series of large garage sales from the comfort of my recliner, and not needing to be an early-birder to find items of interest, is very convenient. My biggest problem is controlling the impulse to buy more items than I actually need -- how can I turn down a selection of power tools for only $5?

As a Professional Organizer and Certified Senior Move Manager®, this was our 4th time managing a MaxSold downsizing estate sale/auction and we also have recent experience organizing a sale for a MaxSold managed auction. Most recently, our client earned approximately $4400 from the sale of his late mother's home contents, in which over 96% sold. We were able to completely clear the home on the same day as the pickup, so that the new homeowners could move forward with closing on their new home. Overall, all parties involved were extremely satisfied with the results - the seller, the buyers, the Realtor, and the new homeowner. There's no question that we will continue to use MaxSold to downsize the estates of our clients! Thank you, MaxSold, for having this platform to make downsizing a little easier!

I've just recently begun to purchase items on MaxSold. So far I really love it. I've purchased items at six auctions and have been very pleased. The staff is very courteous when you come to pick up your items. I think that the items received are described and photographed accurately and there always seems to be something in the lot that you hadn't counted on. Lastly I think that the extended bidding is the best idea in online auctions since online auctions. Ebay should have done this years ago. No more sniping at the last second. The extended auction puts everyone on an equal footing.

This site is very well run from both administrative and technology standpoint. They've clearly spent a lot of time working through how to make the best experience possible. One thing that I really like is that if someone thinks they're going to wait until the last 15 seconds to bid on something, the time is automatically extended to give the other bidders a chance to counter. Sometimes this incites a bit of a bidding war, but that's the idea. I've purchased many things through MaxSold. Some were amazing finds! Others weren't as cool as I thought they were going to be, but I've never felt ripped off and have always found good value in all of my purchases.
