I'd like to know what FORD thinks of your advice. On my new Maverick are ports on each side of the truck bed that provide access to the portion of the wiring harness intended for trailer hook-up. Also, adjacent to the driver's side port is a compartment intended for installing a 400W AC outlet (with inverter mounted somewhere). So far, I've seen nothing that indicates a dedicated hot wire is needed for either trailer or AC outlet. Also, the Maverick's 12V battery is located mid-ship, under the rear seat. It is not clear if there is even a frame opening to the battery compartment.
