Spoke with Chie. She put me on hold for 39 minutes. This site is a full SCAM. Please tell your friends and family A SCAM. If I had to listen to CHIE any longer telling me how sorry she was but could not do a thing for me financially. Ridiculous

SCAM SITE
January 25, 2014

SCAM SITE. They say FREE resume builder, but ofcourse only the building part is free. The part where you download or print it requires payment of 1 dollar. And after a convenient 2 weeks they are in their offices rubbing their hands waiting to charge you 40 dollars for each month in the hopes of you forgetting you were forced to subscribe to pay for that one time resume you spent a few hours on but could not print. Use this site if you like paying 40 dollars for nothing. It will help the site fund its payment to google to display it as top result every time. America has really gone to hell. Greedy f*ckers.

Dear Customer,

We apologize for the misunderstanding, but what is free on our site is the ability to try out our product to create resumes and cover letters, and to explore our templates, designs and text tuner samples. If you want to print a resume to bring to an interview, email your resume/cover letter, or download a professional looking resume then you do need a subscription. However we do offer the ability to download a FREE Plain Text format.

The subscription that you paid has a recurring billing feature and you can cancel at any time. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing on the 15th day, underneath the description of the subscription in bullet form, as well as in the confirmation email you receive once you subscribe. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings!

If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: [email protected]

DON'T EVER USE THIS SITE! IT'S A SCAM! I bought the 14 day trail for three dollars, but I was lucky and caught onto the "monthly renewal" scam. So I called a week after purchasing my resume and cancelled it. Then I check my bank statement and see a 35 dollar charge! I called and couldn't get a hold of anyone. FINALLY, I was able to reach someone. I explained that I had already cancelled my account but I was still being charged. The lady was so rude and disrespectful. She said that her records don't show it as cancelled, so I MUST BE LYING! I demanded that she cancel my account and that I wanted a refund. She told me I wasn't going to get a refund and hung up on me. I finally canceled my account again through their live chat service but I am beyond furious with this. It's such a scam and I will be contacting authorities as well as my brother, who is an attorney. This company is not going to get away with this.

TOTAL SCAM!
January 22, 2014

TOTAL SCAM! All their pricing is hidden and they make it seem like they will only charge you 9.95 after the 14 day period, but they just word it differently so some people do not recognize it as 38 dollars a month. MAKE IT CLEAR! DO NOT BE SNEAKY by putting in BOLD the (9.95) and then the (/week) sign. That is clearly trying to trick buyers. I still am fighting to get my money back and I will. SCAMMING INNOCENT PEOPLE SO YOU CAN EARN MONEY IS PATHETIC!

We also inform you of the many ways for you to unsubscribe your account: by phone, chat and email. This was a scam site
January 20, 2014

This was a scam site. They charged me 1.99 to view a cover letter then came back and charged me recurring $35.80 per month. There was no confirmation sent and they had my email address. I had to argue with them to get a cancellation and a credit from my credit card company. They suck!

Dear Yvonne,

Thanks for your comments.

We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing, underneath the description of the subscription in bullet form, as well as in the confirmation email you receive once you subscribe, stating the amount that you’ve paid for and our auto-renewal date. We also make cancellation really easy as we provided 4 ways: by phone, live chat, via email and through “Account Settings” online if service is no longer needed.

They are THIEVES
January 20, 2014

They are THIEVES. They put a fine print SCAM where they put in big letters "14 DAY TRIAL, $1.95" and then in fine print put "by paying for this trial you are allowing us to auto-renew you into $35 a month". OBVIOUSLY, their entire intention is to SCAM you. Who needs a subscription to a resume website? How often do you make a resume? SCAM. Sad, pathetic company that has to scam people out of money.

Dear Macy,

Thanks for your comments.

Our subscription prices and policy are not in “fine print”. It is clearly stipulated on our sales page and again, we give you this information on the payment confirmation email we sent upon purchase. We also provide many ways in which you can cancel. You can cancel by calling our customer service, by live chat or by e-mail. There is even a self-cancellation feature under “My Account” on our website if service is no longer needed.

Many of our customers keep their service active during their entire job search and a monthly subscription to Resume Builder makes tailoring, customizing, and creating cover letters really easy and fast.

If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: [email protected]

There are a lot of negative posts about this site, From my experience, they are by people who are too stupid to survive without warning labels. The site clearly tells you(multiple times) that after 14 days it will automatically renew. If you are surprised by your account being charged by this site, it will take more then a well written resume for you to land a decent job.

I was very pleased with the service. When I initially paid the $1.95 charge, they clearly stated that the subscription must be cancelled within 14 days or my account would automatically be charged $39.80 every four weeks. I cancelled the subscription online within the 14 day time frame and am happy to report I had absolutely no problem in doing so. I was also provided a confirmation stating my subscription has been cancelled and also given a cancellation confirmation number. I have printed this for my records.

They are a joke of a company that makes most of its money its customers not reading the fine print of a confirmation email. They say $1.95 for 14 days but charge 35. If you don't cancel the membership and its hidden in the deep in the confirm.ation email, not even the initial offer. Not even that helpful with your resume either

Dear Tyler,

Tyler, we take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to, as well as providing the many ways in which they can cancel if they don’t want the service to auto-renew at our monthly subscription. THIEVES, FRAUDSTERS, CRIMINALS! Don't ever give this website payment details, they will steal money from your account! They do not tell you that they will charge you for their "free" resume/cover letter builder until you try to print or save it. Then they will charge you USD$1.95 for a 14day "trial period". At no time do they ever tell you that they will keep your credit card details and charge you USD$34.95 every 4wks after that. THEY WILL NOT ASK YOUR PERMISSION OR AUTHORISATION BEFORE STEALING MONEY FROM YOU, you will need to cancel your credit card. I have now read other reviews here and see that even after a phone call to cancel an unauthorised subscription LiveCareer have continued to FRAUDULENTLY STEAL MONEY from people... CRIMINALS! Anyone in the US should report them to their credit card company and to their local police, and fraud office. STOP THESE CRIMINAL THIEVES!

In addition, we sent a payment confirmation email stating the amount of what you have subscribed for and the date of the auto-renewal.

I built my son a resume and paid the initial fee. I thought I had canceled the subscription for service (according to live career rep. I did not) but realized they billed my card for a $1.19 intl. Service charge and $39.80 for a recurring payment for service. I contacted rep from live career and was told I didn't cancel subscription, the debit from my card was valid and why don't I just take advantage of having their service. I told rep I must have made a mistake and not canceled but if they could help me solve the issue by canceling service and refunding my money. I also told them I have used their site to build my resume, my daughters and sons but since they refuse to give my money back I will not be using their service anymore. My answer was again... the charge to my account was valid and that my subscription will be canceled.
Poor customer service... I was a recurring customer but no more... hopefully I will not be charged again... AVOID THIS SITE!

SCAM!
January 12, 2014

SCAM! I tried this website for a "free" resume builder. It took a lot longer than I anticipated. However, I was pleased with the result. I did not think it was worth the fee. But, I decided that a one-time fee of $34.95 wasn't too bad. I logged on to their website on 12-10-2013 after receiving the $34.95 charge and camcelled my subscription. I noticed on 1-10-2014 that I was charged again. I called to cancel it. They claim that is has now been cancelled. They will NOT refund the second charge even though I told them I had cancelled it the month before. I do not recommend this service!

Is it even possible to give no stars! Total waste of time. I was researching how to build a resume when I found this site that said I could build one for "FREE" I then spent hours doing just that only to find out that they wanted to charge me. Wt...! So I copied and pasted what I did do and redit into a word document on my own computer. Total time 4.5 hours. Even though I kept the "Free" resume on their site I get nothing but rehashed job posting pulled from other sites, none of which even come close to what's on my resume! Again WT...! Eventually I deleted the resume and deleted the account.

NOTE: there are so many scam sites out there now preying on the unemployed to part with their precious funds all promising to help you find work. HAHAHAHA. You have better luck spending your time researching companies you do want to work for and applying to them directly. Takes as much time as these other presumed job sites all of which seem to post the same jobs anyway. Just remember you should never have to pay anyone to send you job listings. There are enough ways to find them online through reputable venues.

THEY WILL TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

The service is very helpful and I appreciated the resume formats etc, BUT they are very sneaky. They charge an initial $1.95 to your account and then after the 14 day trial period they will "renew" your subscription "hassle-free" for $34.95 UNLESS you cancel your subscription within those 14 days

When I saw the charge on my credit card I called them immediately and complained. Two of their suctomer service representatives hung up on me until the third one put in a Refund Request for me. I'm still waiting to hear back...

Total scam

Initially, I thought this company stole my money. They did give me the impression that I pay 7.50 per month for a service and can cancel anytime, but took 95.40 from my credit card for a yearly (rather than monthly) subscription. I felt as if I was lied to. However, I called them this morning, and someone picked up the phone in less than two full rings. The lady I spoke to was EXCELLENT. She was kind, and very understanding. She downgraded my subscription, and refunded me 93 dollars. This company is not as bad as first impressions might indicate. I say give them a try. You will hate how the rates are sold to you, but you will love the service.
