The company's reputation is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to the overwhelming volume of homework and a perceived lack of effective teaching methods. Many reviewers express concerns about the mental stress and negative impact on children's well-being, citing a reliance on repetitive worksheets and inadequate support from staff. Conversely, a small number of positive experiences highlight effective instruction and improved student confidence. Overall, the feedback reveals a pressing need for better instructional quality and a more balanced workload to enhance the learning experience and customer satisfaction.

I go to Kumon in Queens, New York. The teachers don't even help you when you ask for help and expect you to know everything, they give lots of homework but if you are a 3rd grader and up I wouldn't recommend since of school homework and how kumon gives at least 20-30 pages of homework which is a waste of time since kumon makes you only focus on one thing. Hence, it makes you forget other things you have learned so it does not help you. In my experience in Kumon, I've been in Kumon for at least a year, I have a teacher named Mr. Jeff, he will yell at you constantly, assume things and if you go up for help he will jus say for you to go back to your seat and answer it and says he cant help you when he is actually free doing nothing, and the graders are horrible, once I put in my math work and nobody else put in there work for about the past 1 hour and I received my corrections in 45 minutes for just 10 pages of work.
Kumon is horrible they don't care about your Mental health. They give you over 15 pages of math or reading. They give you homework everyday with over 15 pages. The teachers don't help they just give you a packet and expect you to know everything if you need help you to go up and ask you but what if your an introverted person like me. It's horrible, if you actually like your kids then avoid Kumon
I went to Kumon since yr 2 and stopped in yr 5 and let me tell you it was a living hell. The tutors were not helpful and did nothing, it was the same things over and over again, and there were mountains of homework.
I used to go there and the learning material was repetitive, and boring. They said ask for help i fu need to and i did. But then i got pawned off to an example that is for a question like 9+8, while i am doing some albert einstein ahh question with like ************** numbers brackets and letters in it. Used to cry, and be scared when i used to go because i was like, OH time to get yelled at. One time I couldn't mark my books (ONE TIME), and one of the instructors yelled at me saying oh well you should have done it, look, our younger students can why cant you? Bro please shush. Instead of yelling at me, ask me why, and then see if it is valid or nah. Also you can't just yell at everyone and then expect them to be looking like :) the next second can you. Also yall used to have a help desk. It takes like 10-15 minutes just to get help, and then they help horribly. They used to have a help desk but not anymore. Also yall trippin if u think this is 5 star nuh uh.
ALso i did the entry test, and they made me start at a low level which was liek 1+1,0+8,13+6. I needed help with times tables. What a lovely way to drain money from peoples lives and to make them stay longer, and suffer longer, and to waste more tears, energy, time, make them behind in school, cause deppression, and to manipulate eveyone, and lie saying "oh 5 star, we provide best education, children will be confident"
I will never recommend this absolutely dishonourable service to anyone.
You can improve by actually helping kids, and actually talking to the parents and kids to see what they really need help with.
My parents started me in Kumon in 3rd grade with basic addition of single digit plus single digit numbers and the very basic reading worksheets. I finished the Kumon reading program in 9th grade. I struggled but finished the Kumon program in 10th grade, scoring between 80% - 90% on most worksheets. I always thought I wasn't good at math and my reading comprehension was low. When we had to take yearly assessment tests in elementary and middle school, I was always below grade level. Fast forward to 11th grade, I hit my stride and scored so high on the PSAT, I became a national merit scholar and I also got a 35 on the ACT. It turns out the 80% I was scoring on the Kumon translated into master. I was accepted to many of the most competitive universities. Yes, I ABSOLUTELY HATED Kumon but know I wouldn't have been able to learn everything just by going to school. It was very nice to have a strong math and reading foundation and build very good study habits from elementary school. I have been helping classmates since 9th grade. Many of them struggle with the same stuff I struggled with during Kumon, except I had struggle with it years before school so in school, it was a breeze. When I came across the same material in school, I had already learned it so it was a review for me. I don't think I would've ever been able to master the material just by going to school. While I hated it, it was much better than rotting in front a screen like most of my friends. I used my time to study, which I wouldn't ever change.
I usually like doing Kumon, but having to finish 30 pages after a long day at school seems unreasonable. I get out of school at 5:10, which means I would have to work on Kumon until 10 PM and then spend an additional two hours on my regular homework. Because of my probable autism, I often get sidetracked while working on it, and end up petting my dog, wandering around the house, or fidgeting with my pencil, which is not productive at all. All of this makes the experience less than ideal. It can be challenging to focus on the task at hand, given the distractions. I can barely get any sleep thanks to Kumon. I've tried pleading my mom to get me out, but it really hasn't worked... On the other hand, I guess its a good punishment? Or a helping hand, Idk
Worest experience ever
First of all they refuse to teach my kid grade 10 according to her school curriculum and said that they follow their arranged structure, well but my kids has exam soon,
Help her to do well at the Exam
You can be flexible with your schedule and structure to support her so she can do well at her exam. They REFUSE as well
Worst experiences ever.,,, what is the benefit of going to Kumon if they will teach her after she go for her exam ….when I asked to withdraw my kids and asked for refund they refuse to do that
1 week after registration.
Secondly, they said free assessment and once you sign up your child they charge you 80$ registration fee plus 30$ material despite they use their I pad, no material will be given …
Totally non sense
Really So bad experience. Unpleasant one
I go to Kumon in Newnan. The teachers are kind, but there are too many homeworks and schoolworks. I have a lot of homework for school, but I don't have time for them. If I accidentally forget to do my homework, they tell me to finish it. I hate how they correct the answers.
They give way too much homework. You do 1 or 2 days a week, and the rest of the days you don't go, they give you homework. And, if you join later in your years, no matter what age, they start you with addition and multiplication.
We did math with Kumon over this summer. My son's time, skills, and confidence shot up. Ms. Patel was so patient with him, spending extra time to make sure he understood the assignment and felt comfortable. I feel like I'm sending my son to middle school with a solid math background.
I will highly recommend Miss Samy of Bargate Kumon Centre in Grimsby for her gentle yet firm and caring attitude to impacting knowledge to my son Jayson and this has helped him improve so much in his maths and English. Thank you for all the hard work.
Kumon is hell for children they give you to much work and makes you cry it is the worst place ever I don't even know how it is still up it is the worst the people who work there don't even help there's so many kids that hate it actually all the kids
Okey so this is what I think of kumon... BULL$#*!.THEY DO NOT HELP ME AT ALL, YOU CANOT TALK WITH OTHER KIDS, EVER SINGLE DAY OF YOU LIFE WORK SHEETS WORKSHEETS!, BEST PART NO BREAKS ONECE YOU ARE DONE YOU JUST SIT WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY. Don't come here please.
Kumon is a dull, boring method of teaching "math". They call themselves, "The best Mathematics and English program." More like the worst! What people would expect from a place like that would be that there would be a teacher that can help us students and at least put the books in order. But no. At this point, our parents are paying $300+ a month for the same WORKSHEETS. Not to mention, I get up to NINE of the same worksheets in a pile of assignments. NINE! Are they too broke to make more? Are they just lazy? Or is it the dumb Kumon Way? The "instructors" are also utterly useless and when you ask for help they say, "Use the examples," when they don't even give any!
I am in kumon right now and it's a nightmare. Every single day i have to do kumon and it's litteraly pointless. Once your done a unit you forget it the next day. Also im learning work for like 4 grades above me which is really hard and dreadful.
As a student at Kumon I can't say first hand that it is not worth it. Not worth your money or your kids time. I am learning at a fourth grade level at Kumon but at ivy math (different tutoring place) I was learning on a middle school level. Overall don't waste your money on Kumon.
My child came in for an assessment, only to be turned away and the instructor bluntly told me they did not want to work one on one with my child. We left and will not be considering or recommending Kumon to any friends or relatives.
I don't like Kumon because it's like homework on the weekends and weekdays I just don't like it because they yell at kids when I was at Kumon and other kids were tortured honestly it did not really help me that much it puts me more anxiety and low confidence. 0/10 I won't recommend
I would never do this in my life, this place is like hell. I hate one of the teachers name asmita, she's the worst and doesn't help me at all and she's always takes my phone when i don't have it, she takes my phone away but not others when they have it out, it's bull$#*!, the whole place is bull$#*!, this doesn't help me with school, or help me to look stupid, the checkers r not doing their job, it take like 30 min long to check it, so i leave the place
