I bought an aspirato hoover after reading what turned out to be a fake comparison review site. The hoover was not fit for purpose. Its suction is so poor it barely picks anything up.
The company is actually Chinese, you can't speak to anyone and responses to emails just say if you send the product back, because of Chinese customs and the companies inspection on return process, you may not get any money back. You also have to pay the postage to get it back to China.
I raised it as a dispute with Klarna. I sent videos of the hoover not picking up even fairly small bits of grit etc. They asked me on three occasions for more information to support my claim which I provided, there were very large gaps between the emails. I kept ringing and chasing a response. You cannot speak to the dispute team directly and they fail to respond to follow up emails. Finally, three days before the end of the suspension of my Klarna account payments were due to end, the dispute team send me an email to say that they have spoken with aspirato and aspirato have said the 'claim is invalid', so they won't be pursuing this any further.
No other explanation was provided. I have raised a complaint about this. I cannot believe that they are just accepting what the supplier says. I have provided proof that the hoover isn't working properly and certainly not as advertised on aspiratio's website. Where is the buyer protection in this! Secondly they left me with no time to continue to pursue the complaint with aspirato. I was informed by Klarna that if I was requesting that my second payment be delayed, I would they said I would be seen as being in arrears with them and would be moved in to their debt management process
What appalling service!
Clearly Klarna fail to provide any customer protection what so ever. Be very careful if you use them. I have finally ended up paying £140 for a hoover that is not fit for purpose. Three weeks after raising a complaint about Klarna's dispute team I am still waiting. Of course their response will be a total whitewash.
If you receive faulty goods and you purchased them through Klarna. Don't waste your time and energy. You won't get any help!
They doubled up my last payment. I've been getting nothing but a run around with their "customer service " this is becoming my worst experience with buying online. After the run around I got today this has become the worst experience. Would not recommend Klarna to my worst enemy.
I noticed I was told by my bank you have insufficient funds. I looked in to it. Klarna is trying to deduct
money out my acct without my consent. I did change my due dates but they still decided to deduct what I owe them. In which I extended my date till 1/26 of 35.17 and Klarna started deducting on the 1/18 in which I have no funds until 1/20 so that's causing a negative balance. They also deducted another one of 14.17 that's due on 1/22
Klarna is the payment service used by discredited companies and no matter how accurate and correct your complaint may be against scammers, they are not interested in protecting the customer. Stay well clear of them.
Awful company! Checked all my refunds since 3 months ago and just 2 of them have been partly refunded. They owe me almost £1000 in refunds. You have to wait hours to speak with someone on their chat, they're rude or say they didn't received the refund from the company, but the companies are sending me confirmations that they've refunded klarna months ago. I will never use this service again! DO NOT USE THEM! THEY'RE SCUMmERS!
I was notified today that there was a bug in Klarna's system which allowed them to take money from my bank account without my agreement.
This is a serious crime which they are telling me they cannot fix immediately.
Who wants to do business with a company like this and no one in customer services wants to take responsibility or help me.
These payments should have been deducted from my account in a months time and only when I go into my account and pay them. If Klarna can just decide to take my money when they feel like it this is theft!
Until recently, I haven't really had an issue with Klarna. Then all of the sudden they started declining my card payments. I checked with my bank to make sure everything was good and there were no issues with Klarna. They gave the thumbs up so I went to Klarna and deleted and re-added my card just to be safe. Payments were still declined. When I contacted Klarna customer service, they literally had no answer, refused to provide any assistance and I was told to "add another card". I don't HAVE another card. Just stay far away from them. There are WAY better payment services than these people.
Klarna took £344 from my account for a purchase that was automatically cancelled
MONEY TOOK STRAIGHT OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT
CUSTOMER SERVICE SO NOT UNDERSTAND
18 days after still my money in the bank of KLARNA
I HONESTLY DO NOT KNIW HOW THIS SCAM COMPANY IS STILL AROUND
PLEASE PLEASE READ AND TAKE NOTE OF OTHER REVIEWS YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID TO USE KLARNA AT ALL!Don't buy anything trough Klarna! They are a bunch of thieves and liers if you have a refund with them they don't pay you back and they don't care about the situation they only have customer service contact wich they say they'll update the payments team and it never happens.I'm awaiting for a refund from September they ruined my Christmas as I don't have this money back. This company should be close permanently they are not legal AT ALL!
Klarna treats me like a delinquent.
I have have invested $5,732.30 made multiple orders all of my payments to Klarna have been on time. When I tried to use it again they said that I was only allowed $500.00 due to my credit history. They didn't care about my credit history when they 1st came out nor did they care all the other times I purchased through them and pay them back. All of sudden it's a problem. When ordering doesn't allow me to purchase from there available options ask for me use a cosigner.
Thought the whole point of using Klarna was to help customers buy and making shopping easier if they are running low on funds.
That's fair I get treated unfairly because someone experience or my old credit history.
I have proof and record that I paid Klarna on time on all my purchases all of it back.
If try it one more time if I get poor treatment again I will forget about them and won't ever use their service or recommend others.
We have applied twice to Klarna to be offered via our family retail business Website. We offer a variety of beauty and grooming products, much like other popular retail shops that already use and offer Klarna (and which Klarna proudly advertises as their customers). However, our applications are rejected incorrectly and unjustly because Klarna tags us as a company that does "drop shipping", simply because we offer a variety of brands. We are NOT a drop shipping company. We have NEVER drop shipped. We are a retail eCommerce shop. We have our own inventory of products that we fully purchase and store in our warehouse. We have the full legal right to resell these brands as retail corporation (just like some other already approved and advertised by Klarna as their customers). The only difference is that we are not a giant corporation, but rather a local family business. The Klarna review process has been very difficult and illogical. It is not possible to get any help via support as a merchant. At this time we would not recommend any businesses to engage with Klarna. It would wonderful if Klarna can be more understanding and fair in their merchant review process.
I had a highly disappointing experience with Klarna's buyer protection, which ultimately led me to take legal action against them. I mistakenly purchased from a fraudulent website, litfad.com, that purported to sell furniture. Despite Klarna's advertised buyer protection, they failed to fulfill their promises.
After numerous attempts to resolve the issue directly with Klarna went unanswered, I resorted to taking them to small claims court. The process was time-consuming and stressful, but eventually, Klarna settled the case. However, their commitment to covering my court fees, as promised during the settlement, remains unfulfilled.
Now, I find myself having to file a motion to compel Klarna to honor their agreement. This entire ordeal has been a complete nightmare, highlighting a lack of accountability and customer care on Klarna's part.
For those skeptical of my experience, the public court document can be found at la court.org, case #23IWSC*******, Alejandro vs. KLARNA INC. This unfortunate situation serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering Klarna's services, urging them to carefully evaluate the effectiveness of Klarna's buyer protection before making any purchases.
Wish I could give 0 stars. I cancelled my debit card and needed to make a payment using my bank account. I thought I would just have to give a routing and checking account number instead of using a debit card, However, the process is to connect your bank by GIVING YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO YOUR BANK, YOUR ACTUAL BANK LOGIN INFORMATION. That is insane. Stupidly, I did it because I needed to make a payment. But then my payment wouldn't go through because when they pulled my checking account number, they pulled in extra internal numbers my bank uses for internal transfers, which then cause the Klarna payment to fail. WHO ASKS FOR YOUR BANK LOG IN INFORMATION to make a payment. That should be illegal.
Following my response to the Ombudsman (!) of Klarna (case is related to my Trip.com experience reviewed here)

Aditi Maaheshwar,
As ombudsman of the crooks company Klarna/Sofort (Klarna bought Sofort in 2014) you are obviously not able to read. And, in addition, you are a liar and crook.
The email from Trip.com dated Jan. 18,2023 reads "Your tickets are on their way to you". They never came.
You further state, read lie, that "Based on my investigation, Trip.com confirmed to you on 30 June that the ticket was successfully issued on 18 January".
This is wrong as it says in that email of Jan. 18,2023, "We guarantee that your tickets will be issued."
It gets even more explicit when they wrote, "A confirmation, itinerary and e-receipt will be emailed to you once your tickets have been issued".
You are able to understand the grammatical difference of past tense and future tense?
You further wrote, "This also includes investigating if Klarna contacted the relevant merchants to get more information when a customer raises a dispute. In your case, as mentioned earlier, Klarna sent you emails twice in order to receive more information, which they then would have used to contact the merchant. Klarna didn't receive any response from you and hence could not investigate the case further".
That means Klarna did NOT "contact the relevant merchant to get more information". You did though receive ample response from my side.
You again lied writing, "Klarna disputed the invoice and sent you "evidence gathering" emails on 09 May and then again on 13 May. As they didn't receive any response from you, they closed the dispute".
You received relevant docs from me on May 10, June 2 and 12.
Here are the reviews of crooks company Sofort.com, read Klarna: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/sofort.com
You call yourself an Ombudsman. Seriously? You are a shill.
I want the money back!
Update Dec. 2023
The EU offers an Online Dispute Resolution (dis)service. If you have time to waste, this is the goto place.
Filed a complaint there with a lot of attachments and ARN dealt with it. The National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) is a public authority that functions roughly like a court. Really?
On the EU platform ARN asserted that they had requested more information and did not receive any from me. That's a blatant lie. They never made a request.
Oh, there is a Peter Sunde article about Klarna on 'Sifted'.
Ordered an item through a UK website which compelled me to use Klana; paid in full as I don't want to use credit. Goods never received and Klarna's records show the 'seller' to be a US website, totally different name from the one I contracted with and not revealed at point of purchase. Klarna not giving a refund even though they do business with a fraudulent site, different from the one I paid. SCAM AVOID
Dirty filthy scum smelly cun ts open them to bring a wadge in iv seen nicer thing's eating out of a bowl hopefully she will always have a still born they pick up a disease through ing it about to hold a job down
My daughter used my credit card to purchase two phones in April of 2023 and used Klarna as a payment option. She returned the phones to Walmart and was assured by their customer service that Klarna had been notified. Klarna continued to process charges after the return of the phones. Both my daughter and myself have contacted Klarna a total of 5 times and provided all necessary paperwork and information that they requested each time and have been assured 4 times that the concern had been taken care of and that the charges would be returned to my card but to no avail. After finally realizing that the concern was not being taken care of by Klarna my daughter removed all of my information from Klarnas website. Even after removing my credit card number from the website Klarna continued to charge my credit card. I called customer service again on July 16,2023 and provided the information that they requested and was again told that the concern would be corrected and the payments would be returned. Charges were again made by Klarna on July 17 and again on July 19. When these charges were placed on my credit card I called the 5th time and began explaining the concern when the representative hung up on me. The total amount taken from my account is $499.97 so far. My daughter checked her account and it indicated that there would be no further charges to my card but due to earlier responses I am hesitant to believe that. I have finally given up on a resolution from Klarna Corporate and am seeking a resolution through the Better Business Bureau.
Haven't been able to make any purchases meanwhile I have $1600 credit available. After 6 months of thinking it's just a glitch I call customer service and they tell me it's a error in the system and they'll have to forward my account to specialist in order to fix it and if they can't they'll close the account and I'll have to make a new one. It's ridiculous and not to mention you guys have all my personal info. Starting to feel like this is all a trick with evil intentions. They give you credit at first then down the line they randomly take away your buying power even if you make all your payments on time and have a good credit score. Customer service is even worse, whether you call or message them they have absolutely no clue what they are doing. And when they can't help you and you persist on asking for a supervisor they hang up on you out the blue. Not to mention the fact you spend 45 mins waiting just to get access to someone. Klarna is just a BIG scam, way better alternatives like afterpay and affirm
Only works a few times before blocking you out. 650ish credit score, paid 4 purchases off on time, and suddenly stopped approval. Signed out, reloaded app, reloaded payment info, didn't matter. My only concern is all of the financial information that is now stored on the app and is useless to me. Will be deleting the app completely. I suggest you do the same. Pay attention to these reviews because they pay people to leave positive reviews in the App Store and major google results.
I bought a furniture piece and payed for it with Klarna. Unfortunately I had to return an item and money were refunded to Klarna. So Klarna emailed me saying they would pay in 5-7 working days. Nothing happened. I called them and they said to wait as they will investigate what had happened.Eventually after another week only part of the refund arrived. I called them 2 days later, they have no idea what is happening and why the rest of the money have not been payed and then they say that I have to complete some form that I have to find on their website to fill it in order to get the money. I asked to email me the form or link, but they replied that they had no facilities for that. I went on Klarna site and could not find any form. Right now on a call to them trying to speak to a person and its been for half an hour and I am moved from 4th to 5th to 6th in a line for the call. How is Klarna allowed to function taking people's money? I used them 1st time but will never again
