I backed a project from Watermelon games called Paprium which was supposed to be a fund raise for Watermelon games to port Paprium to the consales. I ordered 3 collectors editions and a specialized joystick. Fast forward a year later past the deadline which was at December 2022 I still never received it. I tried disputing the charge, but Kickstarter "validated" it while pretending they are a "legitimate" business. Worse is that a tweet was made on December 25th which I never noticed at the time, but a backer on Facebook saved it prior to the tweet being deleted. It showed that the developers were admitting to their backers that the project was a scam(see photos for details). This site should be seized by the FBI.

These people are very biased and I believe not very inclusive of all walks of people. I am a veteran and own a brewery and they turned me down after trying to upgrade our brewery to make it better. Maybe I should have told them im LGBT or binary or another color. Eitherway, I hope they fail and acknowledge their failures to real people with real ambitions.

Several times I've tried Kickstarter, every time it's been fraud.

Kickstarter when informed of this ignore. They just want the money with zero service

I have been a contributor to quite a few projects over the years with Kickstarter but as of late I do not feel safe investing on the platform. It does not seem like they are properly vetting some of the projects or following up on customer complaints of fraud to where I now I am hesitant. I have stopped looking at Kickstarter at this time and I am just crossing my fingers that my remaining investments follow through. Fool me twice...

I've funded Loona, the pet bot and everything happened as expected. Now my 5y daughter has a new robot friend. We are still waiting for the charging dock. The site is very transparent and straight forward.

Most projects are scams, and they will keep your money and will not deliver
It is fraud, kickstarter do not reply to customers at all

Kickstarter does NOT do any due diligence on the people posting projects, they do NOT care if you get robbed. They allow these scammers to withdraw 100% of the funds even if they are scammers so the site is a hotbed for repeat scammers posting phoney projects.
They only care about commissions and have no ethics whatsoever.

I supported a few kickstarter items. I was scammed one time. The problem isn't the products never materialize. It is kickstarter as a platform never have a monitor to support the customers that paid the money and never get the products.

The company that used Kickstarter to collect the money and try to create the product got to keep the money and never return the money and not alone an email. That company to this day still operate and able to correct money if they want to and never was banned by kickstarter. I am talking about a company that never announce the kickstarting project wasn't successful. They just never make the product. Three years later, the better invention is easily purchase on Amazon.

From that moment forward, I would be very careful about putting money to a company aka "Kickstarter" as a trustworthy platform.

I've backed 8 campaigns in Kickstarter and 3 of them were shady cases - all backers incl.me lost their money. I posted them questions numerous times but nobody cared to answer neither campaign owners nor Kickstarter.
Definitely Kickstarter has to monitor the campaign and when something goes wrong should step in and clarify. No, they're just collecting money from campaigns and don't invest efforts to filter scammers. These are scam-cases just within last 6 months: CXBER, UGAST and SYINNO.

Do NOT expect to get any support if a project is proven to be a scam, dozens of people lost several hundred dollars each after being taken for a ride by a heated jacket company. Be warned!

About 2 years ago now I funded a Kickstarter, it got backed, and then the guy went silent shortly after making some excuses for why it was taking a while. I contacted Kickstarter, and they basically said, "It'll be fine, give it a bit longer". I begrudgingly did, and then 6 months later with the guy still not posting any updates or responses, contacted Kickstarter again, but got no response. It's been 2 years now, and still, they don't give a $#*!. So what've learned is that Kickstarter is an excellent place to scam people. There are no consequences. Kickstarter hasn't done $#*!. People are $#*!ed out of their money. The Scammer won.

I've pledged for a backpack on Kickstarter in 2021, Magiik by Niidaye.
They delivered a small portion of the backers bags, some of them breaking apart, but a huge portion of the backers including me didn't get any shipping information.

Since then Niidaye fell silent and took down their website and contact information.
After trying to contact them and Kickstarter several times, what i learnt is that Kickstarter wouldn't do anything because a few of the backers received a bag, as falling apart as some costumers reviewed.

Apparently 1 year before that Niidaye ran the exact same scam and Kickstarter just let them start a second project without delivering the last one.

If you get scammed on Kickstarter, nobody got your back. Use another website.

I got scammed two time in a row! I think the whole Kickstarter Plattform full of scammers an rarley you got for what you have pledged!

Used to be a decent platform but whoever runs quality control has no clue. They allow scammers to scam and don't care about backers. I guess they don't realize that the more backers that leave, the less chance Kickstarter has to survive. I'm done with a company that truly doesn't care about customers. Kickstarter supports scammers in order to make money. So they are scammers themselves.

I backed a backpack project that was just a scam, it became clear quite quickly it was a scam, they pretended bags were being shipped but the community confirmed that no one had received anything.
There are thousands of comments in the project highlighting it is a scam, asking kickstarter to at the very least take the project down and they left it in place for years, just scamming money off people.
Kickstarter never acknowledged the situation, they didn't support anyone in pursuing a refund even when in their own terms of use it says people are allowed a refund. Kickstarter did nothing but cream their slice of the stolen money off the project and were happy to just sit back watch thousands of people get screwed.
So be warned, do not invest in anything you see on Kickstarter. We all accept that some projects do fail, but this was a scam from the start and in these situations, kickstarter will do absolutely nothing to help you

Kickstarter seems like a great idea, in theory. You may want to help a company develop and deliver a cool idea, but only a small percentage of them ever come to fruition. Out of the many Kickstarter projects I have backed, only 10% were ever delivered. You may wonder why I am writing this review now. Well, because in the latest and final project I backed, I am now required to pony up A LOT of money for additional shipping to receive the items. If I don't, they keep the $169 I pledged, and I get nothing. Did shipping costs rise? Yes, they will have done in the 2 1/2 since I ordered. Why do I think this is unfair? Well, because they have been shipping to other purchasers (people who pledged and to people who are buying the items now through their website). So, because I've had to wait and am in the last shipping group of pledges, I pay more. Is that fair? No, it is not. It would be one thing if they were fulfilling pledges, but they are selling to the general population and delaying my shipment, so of course, I end up paying more and more and more. This is crazy and unfair!

I did not want to believe it and I paid on my own skin.
I supported a project and I literally burned 600 euros. I couldn't believe that such a famous site was actually a giant fake but it really is. Project given for finished and goods given for sent... nothing never arrived to anyone and founders disappeared.

Kickstarter's answers are like: "If you have problems with the goods, talk to the founder or wait a little longer for them to arrive, sometimes shipments are delayed. Having said that, we have nothing to do with it. We're sorry, usually it doesn't work like this, however we have nothing to do with it because as you can see at this link our statute frees us from any responsibility, ciao"

Look at the photo that I attach to this review... I told them that we had suffered a scam in thousands, that the founders had disappeared for months and did not respond and that no goods had arrived... and they reply with clichés "contact the founder "or" wait longer ".
After 1 year and a half what should I wait? Contact who? They disappeared and never answered.
If the loss of hundreds of thousands dollars to innocent people weren't tragically true... we'd like to have a big laugh

It is LITERALLY a legalized scam site, really! It is incredible but it is so! I guess it's part of "getting the economy going".
But they are well done, it must be said... they still have thousands of victims a day. At this point I'm thinking of making one scam myself to get my money back... just I'm not that good at scam and I should learn first how to organize it.

Plain and simple don't use them unless you want a year + of agitation and getting your hopes down. You'll lose your money and it's just another weight on your shoulders and no one needs life to be more miserable than it already is.
