I was the owner and CEO of an internet software firm. I have always been intrigued by good designs in both physical and software products.
This course has given me valuable insights into the philosophy and techniques of good designs. I now firmly believe that great designs stemmed from a sincere interest in understanding the needs of the users. Techniques are important, however, without genuine user empathy, they are nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig.
Interactional Design Foundation has made an important contribution in teaching good designs to both its members as well as society in general.
I found IxDF one of the best resources for learning UX.
Overall experience:
- The community is active and helpful, the teachers are wonderful.
- I found myself doing almost all of the courses there, which helped me a lot.
- IxDF staff is extremely nice, If I had a question I would just send an email, and in a few hours, I would get a response. I felt like I'm chatting with my friends.
Learning:
- IxDF is designed for all levels, from beginners to experts, they got you covered.
- All of the courses are well written, the close and open questions are challenging. Don't expect your answers for the open questions to be correct all the time (which for me showed that they are carefully checking the answers, and not just giving points away).
- In each course, you got optional challenges that you can share with the community and get feedback on your work.
- IxDF also offers webinars all the time that cost $1 for members.
- IxDF got a lot of recourses that can help you as a UX designer.
Verdict:
I can go on and on about how good this place is since it helped me in many ways.
Would definitely recommend this site for people who want to understand what's UX, what to expect from working in this field, and learning about all sorts of topics that are related to design.
10/10 for me, I hope this review was helpful.
Good luck on your journey.
The Interaction Design Foundation has a huge selection of courses with valuable content! Their content is growing with more variety.
If you want to launch a new career in UX Design, this is one of the best platforms out there. The courses provide me a great overview of User Experience and Design thinking. All in all, it was a great, happy and insightful learning experience. I would recommend this for beginners. :)
I have come across the Interaction Design Foundation, taken a few courses, among them is the Interaction Design for Usability and I must confess, I was very pleased on how the information was structured and presented, the abundance of examples of good and bad ways to solve the usability and interaction issues, great way to communicate with different participants of the same course, reinforcing the knowledge we gained throughout each chapter. I will recommend to anyone who is interested in a career in UX, instead of taking a bunch of courses on different platforms, try to subscribe here, learn the basics and after that you're ready to start applying what you've learned along the way.
IDF has helped me learn /understand what is Design all about, it has impacted greatly in my career growth. Their certification has help me get good opportunities. Thank you IDF :)
It has been really a great experience to learn UX design form Interaction Design Foundation. The content and the short courses they have bucketize to give a seamless learning about UX, Start to End are awesome. And those courses have rich content and real-time question answers are making the learning easy and helping beginner to grasp the logic of Human center design for long term. I would refer to every UX beginner to start with Interaction Design Foundation to become a pro in UX in such a very low cost of learning.

Coming from a totally different background, I took this course hoping to get a little knowledge on all aspects of digital design that you see in today's world. But i can't stress enough this point that this course is the one and only reason that helped me in making up my mind to decide my final goal, to become a UX Designer. To be honest, I am really forever grateful for all the IDF community members who made me what i am today. Of course you did your part in taking care of my career completely, now its up to me to keep moving forward. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience, and I am hoping to learn more new courses from IDF.
The courses are very well structured, with great attention to detail, interesting real-life examples, and with a wide variety of topics. It's an exciting learning platform where each user can customize its path to better follow their interests and experience. The support is friendly and always ready to help.
I highly recommend Interaction Design Foundation.
Hi Albert,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We've put a lot of effort into adding practical examples with a timeless focus into our courses, masterclasses, and literature. Thanks so much for the kind words.:-)
Warm regards,

I switch from another highly expensive online bootcamp to IDF to continue learning UX Design. The Courses are very detailed, well explained, diverse content (Text/Video), a lot of resources and a great community.
Also, the support is fast, friendly and helps you to learn in a way you want.
I can highly recommend Interaction Design Foundation.

This course is a good starting point to learn about interaction design. The content is great and up to date. The coverage is good too
We started a design agency more than a year back without any idea of what UI UX is, we learned that IDF is one of the organisations dedicated to offer courses to enhance design and UX skills (that too at a very very economical price). I would like to confirm that I've got a lot of UX clients basis the things I've learned from IDF. The community is big and there are monthly local meetups where members share and learn about different concerns. I would truly recommend any one starting or already in the Industry to get started on IDF to enhance their UX skills to a different level.
I was a member of IDF, I took the course for "User Research – Methods and Best Practices"
It was great Experience, It's not only videos and articles but also real practice like how to do User personas, User Journey maps and other UX activities.
Strongly recommending to go with IDF for good UX Knowledge.
This is perfect place to get started & upgrade your UI/UX skills. I strongly recommend IDF to all the students & professional.
I joined IDF specifically to take their course on accessibility and it did not disappoint! The content was incredibly thorough, and even though I have taken more technical focused accessibility courses in the past, I found that I learned about new practices and applications that I hadn't heard of before.
The testing format of IDF courses is really great for keeping you on your toes, I find that I need to really focus on the videos or reading content to successfully answer the multiple choice questions. The discussion questions and activities are challenging without taking up an extraordinary amount of time.
I also find the incentive to be noted as within the top 10% to be a good motivator for me to do my best.
I discovered IDF while I was without a job and so I had the time to upgrade my skills, but also a small budget. I came across IDF and I decided to give them a chance. I'm a designer for almost 10 years and I found here a lot of good content to expand my knowledge of contemporary subjects. I really loved the Design Thinking course as a great starter! What's even better is that there is a huge community following the same courses; people who are really motivated and active. There are also meet up organized around the major cities across the globe, that's awesome to enrich your local network. Of course, as each training, there is a lot more you can learn by yourself thanks to the great bibliography related to each theme. Very complete courses and well documented to do your work too, this is very helpful with my kind of learning process. I Highly recommended!
I've been a member of IDF for several years and never regret becoming one in the first place. The mix of courses, the level of proficiency and the number of the courses are definitely worth it. The option to customise what you will learn based on selecting a career path is what helps you become a specialist based on your wants. Having more courses coming in shows the Foundation's commitment to provide the latest and top education based on what is happening in the areas of UX and lastly, Service design. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to have a strong base of knowledge.
With IDF I was able to enjoy some amazing courses on Emotional Design and Accessibility (among others). I definitely dare to say that my knowledge doubled or even tripled during these courses. I believe IDF is an authority on UX courses and similar topics. Thanks a lot Rikke!
During my career as a UX designer I have come across a multitude of UX related sites, but the IDF stands out as the premier resource within the sector.
It's quite apparent that the people behind this non profit are creating this amazing content as a labor of love, and not just to get a pay check.
One of my clients needed me to help them redesign their complex control panels in order to help their sales team understand the data, without having to read a manual. I needed to brush up on the subject, so I enrolled in the Information Visualization course at the Interaction Design Foundation website. In a matter of weeks, I completed the course and earned my certificate. The course helped me design a far more user friendly and easily understandable control panel than I would have been able to design without attending the course. On behalf of myself and my client, thanks!
