I had an iPhone 6 locked to T-Mobile I had sold to a close friend. I didn't know anything about the locking or unlocking process, and decided to go with iPhoneIMEI.com. I read through the service contract very quickly, and didn't understand what I was getting myself into.
The initial £19.99 is the hook, they charge you just to check if they are able to release the IMEI.
They WILL CHARGE YOU another £74.99 to actually unlock your phone.
THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE SERVICE IS £94.99.
The initial 20 pounds gets you nowhere, other than to make you feel like you've already started the process.
Protip: If you ask them to refund your order, they'll knock the price of the second piece down to £67.50, bringing the total to £77.49.
The process will take a week. 7 Days. The only reason they say it could take less is to entice you into spending another £9.99 to "move to the front of the queue."
I figure the entire process is a load of bull. The only way to get Apple to unlock an IMEI is to have a physical person who works at Apple enter it into the Apple database. Its unethical, but an incredibly useful service otherwise. These business are running a racket.
Is it worth it? Maybe.
Is it ethical? No.
Did it work for me? Yes.
Will it cost you $126? Yes.
Should you ask for a refund to get a reduced price? Absolutely.
I paid for iPhone 6S for carrier unlock. When I submitted my IMEI I paid like 24$ after one week I got mail to pay 20$ more based on IMEI so I paid again and later I got mail after 10 days that this mobile needed express service to unlock and it is 100% guaranteed service so I paid 20$ more for that and after 10 more days I got a mail that this mobile is in lost mode so they cannot unlock. Before i submit IMEI my mobile is in clean status but after i submit here that went to the lost status. I did not understand that why they wasted my money and time. I did not recommend anyone here to use this Fraud website service.
Initial price was $29 and then they asked for $50, the catch was if you don't want to proceed further, refund will be in the form of credits which can be used only on the website. However, they were able to unlock the phone after paying additional amount.
My phone was successfully unlocked, but it took about 7 days. It seemed it was on purpose so that I would pay extra to push my phone to the top of their priority list.
It did not work for me and they did not even pay me back and they said they will give credits but never replied my emails once i disputed card they gave reply but who care once lost trust and also while paying on site Once you fork over the £20. They charge you another £199 or something after they check to see that your phone is compatible for unlocking. No where on their website do they mention the extra fee after the initial fee. Super misleading. For that price i could have had someone local unlock my phone for me the same day scam scam
I belive their policies, although hyped as free or low cost are actually a bait and switch type of consumers being misslead. The first round is 2£ and you cant get a refund, to recoup any value you must continue to pay thru 2 more levels of charges and be besieged by efforts to make you pay more for expedited service. It did ultimately work but the process was very off putting. Do I still get the 3 quid?
I waited about a week for my phone to be unlocked except its not actually unlocked. I was told this phone was stolen then, well it isnt because its my phone I bought through Verizon. I wasted my money and now have to wait to make more money to just buy a new phone. Dont waste your money
THey provided the service promptly and were very upfront and informative throughout the process. I was skeptical but reviews like these put me at ease.
I have get my Iphone 7 Plus unlocked in 9 days and, so far, it is working perfectly.
However, the price offered to the customer for the service is utterly misleading, as you have to paid first an amount that is shown as the total price for unlocking the phone. But once you have paid for it and once you receive the notification that you have successfully unlocked the phone, you discover that you have only paid for a fraction of it, and that you need to pay like three or four times more for the service to be completed. I feel disappointed with this bit, and I think you should change this marketing gimmick because you are simply turning the good and effective service you are offering into an outrageous deceit.
Once you fork over the £20. They charge you another £199 or something after they check to see that your phone is compatible for unlocking. No where on their website do they mention the extra fee after the initial fee. Super misleading. For that price i could have had someone local unlock my phone for me the same day. Im surprised people like this get away with scams like this
The service provided by the website seemed like it worked at first, charging me only the listed price and did unlock the phone. However, once I tried putting my sim card into the phone I just paid to have unlocked, it wouldn't accept my sim, for apparently the phone is now believed to be stolen. I had gotten this phone from a friend legitimately when he got an upgrade. It would have been nice if the website had some mention of how this issue could be resolved.
I had an iPhone 7plus to be unlocked, it was previously connected to TMobile and I was trying to switch over to Boostmobile. I messaged customer service before submitting any type of payment to explain the situation that I had already sim unlocked my phone but I needed it to be factory unlocked so I could switch carriers, I explained how I was told TMobile iphone models get locked in to Tzmone would they be able to assist, sure enough they said no problem. Well they didnt do anything different that what I had already done. I got an email saying it was unlocked, turns out they only did the exact sim unlock I had already advised them I had done so I paid $128 for absolutely nothing. I got back to customer service and they were rude saying they unlocked it for me so I had to pay when truthfully I unlocked it myself I just needed the phone to be unlocked so I could switch from GSM to CDMA network. They were such rip offs I was disgusted by the service and how this was handled. They pretty much stole my money.
Is not a Cheap unlocked service for t-mobile USA and it taked two steps for this and obviusly slow. Once it was unlocked; After 3 days the iPhone losed the signal service; and not is a backlist, is clean IMEI and ESN; well I dont understand what happened...
Your advert was unlocking phones from (much smaller print for the word from) £19.99 actual cost about £75 but you dont say that until you have taken the non refundable £19.99
Not very honest in my opinion
Does the job, but is very slow - it's also worth noting that we sent two phones and paid for the faster premium service on one of them - interestingly the both completed at the same time
They hide prices from you until its too late. Then after youve been ripped off they offer £3 refund to you if you leave a nice review.
They give you a price, you pay for it and 2 says later they ask for more. I ended up paying 50£ to unlock my phone! A rip off!
FRAUDSTERS!!!!
They have taken my money and didn't do the work and ignored all my emails.
I have asked my bank for a chargeback and they emailed me immediately asking for the cargeback to be cancelled staing that they will refund me as soon as I cancel. I have told them no as I do not trust them, so I will let the chargeback to go through. They ignored again my email and started to fight the chargeback.
FRAUDSTERS!!!!
These people should be locked up by now, they're running a scam first they make you believe the service cost is going to be as low as possible them a 1 day or 2 they come back letting you know that your phone is available for unlocking and ask for large sum of money, if you live in the USA just go to Ebay at least here you'll have Paypal to protect you, these people will not return any of your money. DON'T SAY YOU WAS NOT WARNED!
Answer: No they don't. They just take your money and not unlocked anything.
Answer: Nobody, friend
