I never got my Bogo's (Buy 1 get 1 free). Took a few emails for Instacart to let me know there was nothing they can do. Waste of time and money.
It turned out that I was getting notices for a previous order. So when I called, confused and upset, the customer service person said, "You don't have to yell. I can hear you." I was amazed. People in customer service should be trained to deal with people who are upset and vocal about their problem. I think Instacart needs to institute more rigorous customer assistance training. Something along the lines of "I'm sorry this is causing a problem for you. Let me help," would have been much more appropriate.
I have had had minor problems with Instacart, but the last time they delivered groceries I was missing over a third of what I ordered. I went to the grocery store to see if they had the items I was missing. They had an entire half isle of bottled one gallon water I had ordered. They say they will give you credit on your next order. I'm done with them so they get to steal the money I spent on items they didn't deliver and I gave the delivery guy a 20% tip.
Impossible to place an order. Web development is a joke, no helpful errors given. Just a huge waste of time.
Instacart only caters to the new shoppers for the first 6 months and then they stop giving you any order above minimum wage no matter your ratings, devotion or loyalty. You are nothing to them and they prove it by not even letting you talk to a live person. They could care less. They only care about charging the customer 30% upcharge on each item because that's how they make their money. Then the poor sap driver can end up doing a 100+ batch with no tip for a whopping 7.00 flat rate going 10 miles away that takes them 2 hours to complete. SMH. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH INSTACART. They have no loyalty and you are nothing but a fly on their shoe that they can seat (and will swat) anytime they want.
They are charging a lot more than what the cost is for Costco items. I ordered and they gave me a paper receipt and they InstaCart charged me more than $50 above what the actual receipt charged. They then told me I shouldn't have been given a paper receipt of my order. I pay an annual fee for InstaCart, a delivery fee and tips, now I find out Instacart is stealing from consumers. They refused to refund the overcharge and refused to tell me who pockets the massive amount of overcharge they are doing on Costco orders. This should be illegal, buyer beware!
I don't even want to give a 1 star but I have to for this is 3rd time I didn't receive my order. When I chatted with customer service I asked them to ask the delivery driver for the picture that they are to take when they leave the order. She didn't reply back to me on that so I asked again and she didn't have anything to say. I wanted to see where she left my order.
I hope the person that received it is happy because it was a big order. Then they say we will redeliver it and I said no just refund me. It took 20 minutes for them to say ok
I told them I have a door bell camera and she isn't on it and asked if they would like to see it and they said no. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THEM. I DIN'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS.
How long is it that everybody can get an extremely high level of satisfaction that delivers for Instacart, when only about 1.5 out of five stars is what they get on reviews. Yet everybody that delivers for them is rated as the top quality. What about the people that aren't, they never show you that. They have terrible delivery people, and at least half of them don't speak English well. That is a problem
I order my groceries from King Soopers and unfortunately they use Instacart to fulfill those orders. At first, I was thrilled, it seemed easy to use and I was happy. Then I noticed that it was taking longer and longer for the shopper to get my groceries and deliver them. It shouldn't take 3 hours to shop for 10 things! I found out when we received items that were not ours that the shoppers fulfill as many orders as they can at one time. This has led to melted ice cream, cold items warm, and having to order out because my groceries were delayed and we didn't have the ingredients for dinner. Last week, the shopper never delivered our items but, instead, stole them! They had to send an entirely new shopper and we finally received our groceries at 11 pm! Today I placed an order and with a 2 hour window for delivery. I reached out to the company when it was 15 minutes late because I had received no notifications that shopping was happening. After being on chat for almost 2 hours, they told me the store was closed and now they couldn't do anything. Now I'm having to wait for almost 24 hours before I get my groceries. The chat people were disorganized and not helpful whatsoever. I feel that I am getting scammed by them. I hate that I am forced to use them because King Soopers made that choice. Thoroughly disappointed.
Never received my order. Customer service is nasty! Called and spent over 20 min on the phone with the nastiest human being around. Be warned
Changed delivery drivers and lied and said that it's limited delivery today when it was already shopped and she checked out- she just didn't deliver. Had to call and she lied again- then lied about delivery again! Wasn't the tip so I'm confused
Shoppers are terrible. They couldn't find anything in my order or the right size. They lady I spoke to in customer service was rude and didn't care about my issue.
Throughout the time I have been using Instacart, I have consistently been receiving poor service. To the point that I was constantly sending issues with my orders on their app. Recently, I was notified that my account was restricted due to the amount of issues I have placed for past orders. These issues were ALL due to mistakes their shoppers have made on the orders, and issues with their pathetic app as well. I've noticed that they've also raised prices; on their service fee in particular. It doesn't make since that the service quality would go down, as the service fee goes up. I've canceled my membership with them.
DOUBLE BILLING-delivery fee AND service fee-these are the same thing! $7.99 delivery fee PLUS $4.00 service fee; then they auto calculate in a driver tip, which makes you think it is separate from the delivery fee... WTH?
I paid almost $25 for approx $10 in items-not to mention the items in my instacart subtotal $10.58, but the driver left receipt in the bag for Total: $9.80 which actually included the bag/bag tax fees...
This is nuts:
"Order totals
Item Subtotal: $10.58
Tip: $2.00
Service Fee: $4.00
Delivery Fee: $7.99
Delivery Fee Tax: $0.01
Checkout Bag Fee: $0.24
Checkout Bag Fee Tax: $0.01
Total: $24.83
See attached Store receipt - obviously, I should have just went to store myself
I did not realize Instacart charges immediately the entire member fee at once; that their is a Service Fee PER ORDER they say to help with their expenses and it's not cheap. You can order all you want but you will get barraged with a lot of text messages stating Out-Of-Stock that you ordered and paid for even though out of stock items are on their site. So if ur planning your dinner for the evening, it WILL NOT HAPPEN! Plus, there's always something you paid for that YOU DONT RECEIVE! They refund you in 5 to 10 business days when they get the money from you darn near instantly especially using your debit card. They automatically put your membership on AUTO RENEW but you cannot take it off! You gotta call! DONT PATRONIZE. INSTACART!
My shopper waited about 2 hours to begin shopping, then took a 45 minutes break mid shopping. He tried to refund almost everything on my list, I asked him to grab replacements instead. He didn't want to because there were only two options. I told him it was fine, i'll get 3 of both choices = 6. He didn't do that, and said he was on his way to checking out, and doesn't want to walk back. I contacted instacart, the agent tried to argue, and side with him. I asked him to cancel, he didn't want to. But eventually agreed. I waited almost 5 hours, and it was too late to reorder. I asked to speak to a manager, the rep asked why and ended the chat. I called, the agent muted herself for 20 minutes. After a while I told her, this was being recorded, so she hung up on me. They have some of the worst shoppers, I've had shoppers scream in the hallway, kick my door, bring their kids who bounce basketball off of my neighbors' doors. I don't think they screen their employees. I've had shoppers bring me clearly rotten food. No standards.
Beware! Instacart items are priced higher than in the actual stores. This is contracted between Instacart and these stores we are shopping within. This is causing the consumer to pay higher prices on the products; on top of service fees, delivery fees, and forced tips. TOTAL RIP OFF. Also forgot to mention the poor selection of produce choices by the Instacart shoppers…. Horrible experience. NEVER AGAIN!
I broke my arm and can't drive.
We needed groceries so I decided to try using them at Publix.
I ordered quite a few groceries on 5/22 so as not to have to do it for awhile. I checked and saw the amt was pending on my acct.
Today I checked my acct and saw it was it was still pending, however, it wasn't alone.
Instacart had added an additional $544 to my account.
That was a total of nearly $1100 for groceries, and it didn't even include lobster.
I called Instacart and was rudely told that it is their policy to add the same amount as the original plus an additional 15%.
They refused to remove it for another 7 days; $544 is a lot of money to me.
I called my bank and they told me to wait until tomorrow, both amts should be out of pending.
If the second amt still shows up they will dispute it for me and put the money back in my acct.
What a rip-off.
Unless you are rich, think twice before using instacart for anything. I've learned my lesson!
My order came to $522.36. I used my bank card.
Driver delivered to wrong address. When I contacted him and he finally retrieved my order and delivered it, HE had an attitude complaining he was new to the area and it wasn't his fault that he left my order somewhere else. All the other drivers found me without incident. His name was Michael and he reeked of smoke. He had tied up all the bags and crushed my bread. Good luck jumping thru the hoops to contact Instacart! I am done with this sorry company and give them a F overall. It's the lowest I can give them.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
