This training provided a lot of useful information that can be used in the near future.
This course was well organized and very condensed, focusing on only what was necessary. The quiz was well written and reflected directly what was provided in the reading sections.
Information was clear, well-presented, easy to follow, and nicely illustrated. Test questions were also fair and worded well for clear understanding.
I was very pleased with the materials, which was presented in a reader friendly manner; easy to comprehend. I was able to review the materials, videos and take the test at my own pace which was great; because I didn't feel the pressure and stress that normally comes with taking tests. Thank you.
In the first place I disagree with taking an online CPR/First Aid class because the information cannot be properly conveyed compared to a hands on class. A person who is not well versed in CPR/First Aid will not retain much of the information from the training program. I am a former paramedic so none of this is new to me except when there are updates in the specific format in CPR which changes over time.
Second there were at least two errors in the information on the CPR portion of the training. I took this training several months ago so I am not able to more specific about my criticism, but in one example the narrator talks about using back slaps in conjunction with the Heimlich maneuver. I do specifically recall that when the American Heart Association included the back slaps with the Heimlich Manuever that Henry Heimlich, developer of the Heimlich, revoked his use of his name because he felt that back slaps only caused the foreign matter to become further lodged in the airway. Consequently, the Heimlich was changed to abdominal thrusts.
Eventually the back slaps were dropped because the AHA finally realized there was no data to support including back slaps in the routine. It is different when applying back slaps to an infant who one can hold face down and apply back slaps.
The second criticism had to do with one of the demonstrators who was clearly using poor form in doing chest compressions. He was doing the compressions from an angle off to the side and not directly over the manakin.
For these reasons I felt very dissatisfied with the training and it left me concerned that there were more problems with the training that I would have found if I had bothered to look more closely.
THE CPR TRAINING WITH INTERNATIONAL CPR INSTITUTE IS A VERY INFORMATIVE "KNOW HOW" TO DO IT AND DO IT PROPERLY.
I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR IT!

Excellent service. The material was very well organized.
It was a quick, updated good review of CPR. Well organized, demonstrations helpful. Response for card & certificate came quickly. I've used CPR Institute for several years to keep updated.
I love that I can refresh and renew my CPR skills without having to GO somewhere, ESPECIALLY during COVID issues. Thank you!
This course was great, site easy to use, content up to date, and cost effective compared to other online courses.

Thank you so much Michael! We are so happy to hear that.
Answer: Hi Margaret. This certification is through the International CPR Institute. If we were to give a live class locally, we could issue their cards since our instructors are AHA, Red Cross, or National Safety Council certified, but since the course is taken 100% online, we have to issue our own cards. No course that's 100% online can issue their cards, no matter what they say on their website. With that being said, some licensing agencies or facilities will accept a fully online course but they are the only ones who would be able to give you a definite answer. Thank you!
Answer: Hi Jason! You would have to check with the facility or licensing agency directly and find out what their requirements are. Although each of our instructors is certified to instruct by the American Heart, Red Cross or National Safety Council, some facilities still require you to take a live class. They are the only ones who would be able to give you a definite answer.
Answer: Hi Lauren! We currently do not have any personal recommendations for ACLS and PALS as all licensing agencies and facilities have different requirements for courses and certifications. I would contact them directly to figure out what their standards are and which course(s) or companies they recommend.
Answer: Hi Lauren! If you are able to take your certification with us, go to www.icpri.com/enroll and create an account with your information. From there, you can sign up for courses and complete everything online from your account!
Answer: Hi Lauren! We do not have ACL's and PAL's at this time. I am sorry. For more information on our courses please go to https://www.icpri.com/online-courses
Answer: Hi Carol! Our company is online only. If you are taking a course with us, all you have to do is go to our website www.icpri.com and create an account. There would not be a hands on portion if you take it with us, so depending on what you are taking your course for, that would have to be approved. If you have any questions you can contact us at 407-777-0177.
Answer: Hi Debbie, I noticed the date on this post is several years ago, but for anyone wondering about this company. It is legit! My co-workers snd I have been using it to renew our CPR certificates as required by our employer. I am so fortunate to have found ICPRI to meet my CPR requirements. So easy and convenient. Just go to their website and choose the program you need and pay for it. As soon as you pay for the course it will be available for you to access. I've been renewing my CPR certificate with this company for several years and would recommend it to my family, friends, and co-workers. I just renewed my CPR and received my card the other day. This company is legit. Oh and the price of 20 bucks can't be beat! Diana

Hi Michael, I'm sorry you didn't like the course and I'd be happy to offer a full refund if you could give me your full name or student ID #. Our course has received nothing but positive reviews since we have offered it online since 2007. Many more facilities and employers have given the green light to take the online courses because they have been proven to be just as effective. As a former paramedic, I'm sure you would have been required to take a live class and I'm curious why you took ours, knowing that. When we refer to the abdominal thrusts, we state "commonly referred to as the Heimlich Maneuver" which is acceptable to all parties. We'll take a look at the use of back slaps in conjunction with the abdominal thrusts and make changes that are required but the AHA has gone back and forth with that for years. We take criticism very seriously and use it to improve our website all the time and will take everything you state just as seriously. Again, the offer for the refund is still open, just send and email to [email protected] and make sure you include your full name and email address or student ID number if you have it. It should be on any of your paperwork.
Thank you,
International CPR Institute, Inc.
