When you reach them you have to wait for so long and without results 😞They are offering a poor service for their customers.Every single month it's hard to find out what you are doing to do with the expense of prescriptions and medical appointments co payment. This is unacceptable.
Humana is the worst company we've ever dealt with. My wife got encephalitis & spent 5 days in intensive care in Mexico. Our bill was $31,000+. We had to pay partially out of pocket. She had to go back to the ER one week later because she was having a seizure. They would not keep her overnight for observation because we owed the hospital money. It took a complaint with the Better Business Bureau & several complaints to their grievance dept. before we received any reimbursement, after being told it was being processed & a check would be released within a couple of weeks. It took nine months of listening to their lies & misinformation & even then, they only reimbursed us $17,000. We cannot use this hospital for any treatment, emergency or otherwise. She fell & needed emergency elbow surgery & had to use a surgical center six months later. We had to borrow the $7,500 & pay in advance. We are both on a fixed incomes, social security & disability. Again, Humana said use the center & reimbursement, once again, & it would not be a problem. That claim was denied & we are going through the same process. We had letters from our orthopedic surgeon stating that she could not travel due to the illness & injury. This company is an embarrassment & I would advise any new applicant to look elsewhere. We will continue to post on social media for the rest of our lives until we get some satisfaction. This country is greatly suffering due to lawyers & insurance companies, especially when they are dealing with the elderly & retired. This is another negative review in a long list of horrible reviews. I only hope that those employees making life altering decisions go through what we have & continue to go through. The government needs to look at this company very closely as their practices are extremely unfair & biased. Again, save yourself much aggravation & wasted time, & look elsewhere.

My recent experience with Humana's transportation service, now handled by Modivcare, has been utterly disappointing. The transition has been a disaster, leaving me stranded and frustrated. Modivcare's inability to provide accessible service to all clients, especially those with unique needs like dialysis patients, is unacceptable. Their insistence on extensive notice for appointments, lack of flexibility, and disregard for individual circumstances have left me with no options but to rely on Uber, often leading to canceled appointments and missed healthcare opportunities. Furthermore, their use of vans or buses emblazoned with company logos violates privacy rights and HIPAA laws. The recent changes, seemingly driven by cost-cutting measures, have severely impacted patient care. I will be switching providers at the earliest opportunity.
No meds yet can't even get a provider book can't get on line because they say they will send a code but they never do was promised someone would call and help me never did person that sighed me up doesn't want to be bothered in case of emergency I don't even know what hospital to go to
I am stuck with Humana for awhile but I don't recommend it They raised my premium through the roof when I called to say I could not.afford the insurance the girl yelled at me threatening to cancel my insurance I will disenroll soon when I find something better they are not a good company and their commercials a more human way for insurance a way to abuse the elderly is more like it
On this Veterans Day, my veteran is sitting in a hospital room because HUMANA won't release him to the rehab. He had surgery 5 days ago and rehab has been ready for him for 3 days. Humana is holding my guy hostage in the hospital and I am worried about his mental and physical health at this point. Humana is to blame. I give Humana a minus *******! Do not sign up for Humana Medicare!
Humana dental is a scam been trying to get a refund for almost $4000 for six months now I paid affordable dentures for thousand dollars because they said Humana dental would refund me this has been going on for six months now I have called many times each one of them tell me different things i've had that insurance for years I never have used it until now nothing but liars I know I'm never gonna get that money so let them keep it you get tired after a while
Don't waste your money. Over last 2 years they continue to find reasons to deny your dental claims. You don't even get insurance discount rates. I have been stuck with over $6,000 in preventative dental care for me and my granddaughter. Please, please use another company
Humana says that they see us, but they certainly DO NOT make the process of filing a claim easy. After submitting a claim under my dental coverage, it took over two months to get them to respond. They ignored the claim and never contacted me to say they were ignoring it.
It appears that there is a separate member ID number for dental versus medical, although they never sent me a new ID card or informed me that this was the case. Therefore my member ID did not match, so they just ignored it.
Finally after I took the initiative to find out what was going on and answered all their questions, the claim was approved and they sent that determination to the Dentist involved. Problem solved, so I thought – NOT!
Over a month later I received a notice in the mail that the claim was being denied because I did not answer a question regarding whether this was a new service or a replacement service. I had answered that question when they originally approved the claim. I called and answered the question again and now I have waited over a week for them to notify the dentist.
This is the worst approach I have encountered regarding bureaucratic processes that ignore customer care and concern.
They change their mind on what they'll pay a year later! Dental coverage is non-existent. They don't even pay for an extraction! They have copays for regular doctor visits when many other insurance companies have ZERO copay and cover 70% more than Humana!
This is one of the worse insurance companies out there! They tell you that your medication has a no co-pay but some of them do! I have several medications that have a co-pay with them and one of the co-pay is $182.00 and with my old insurance company they all were free! I'm definitely going to change my insurance! Their operators are very rude and they talk over you and cut you off from talking! Once you let them talk and it's your turn they start talking again and continue to talk over you until you stop! I never had this done before and their GOD awful accent is not understandable and they get mad because an American can't understand their terrible accent! Humana is a trash insurance company that don't tell you everything about their policy! You will find out the hard way! I would give them a zero but that's not an option!
1st. I saw a podiatrist who prescribed diabetics root cream for my feet. Humana denied it and asked if I minded them reaching out to Dr. To ask for a cheaper persription which I never received. 2nd. Upon d/c from hospital my dr. Ordered a Rolator walker, a talking glucometer,a shower chair, a bedside commode & a raised toilet seat. All of which were supposed to b delivered to my home at d/c. Humana only paid for a regular walker w/wheels and a Walgreen brand glucometer. I never received any of the other equipment and Humana suggested that I pay out of pocket for these items or go to a Goodwill store to purchase them. 3rd. After a face to face with my PCP for elevated glucose readings, she prescribed Hemalog Kwik pen 5 mg units proportional to meals. Humana failed to approve the insulin on 06/16/2023 and has delayed and denied the Rx for 25 days. They simply claimed the Rx was not covered under my plan and required prior authorization or had to appeal the decision. Each time I was given another excuse and another step to complete. I ended up paying out of pocket for the Rx and I during for refund and damages.
Unlike others, I cannot complain about the actual insurance part. I have had no issues with what they claimed was covered and what was received. My one star is for their website. Been a member for 4 years and they have tried on at least 3 occasions to upgrade the site. The latest, IF YOU CAN LOG IN, is the best so far but still is slow and cumbersome. Tried to log in at least six times today and all failed with an "oops, something went wrong, try again". NSS!
Beware. The information on the Humana website is out of date, or the wait times for new patients is 6 months. And nurse/practitioner substitute not always offered, or you could pay a deductable.
Don't trust them. Verify. And phone support terrible. Over 3 hours battling this today.
I'm like a lot of business peoples; I navigate many of websites daily. I find the Humana/Centerwell website to be one of the most difficult to navigate. I would place it in the top 2% worst website. Intuitive it is not. Logical it is not. There are times I find myself going in a circle or in a dead end. I find the first peoples I talk to in the Customer Service departmart are only nominally trained regarding Humana Pharmacy. Even there automatic AI is non sensical. And again, I just found myself going in a circle with Mr. AI. No way out other than to hang up and call again. I used to work in the IT department of Northwest Airlines(before Delta merger) in the 1960's and did developmental and systems work on large mainframe computers. My advice: have the IT people actually use their website. That might help.
Very poor quality of service. Unable to provide simple information.general questions end up debates. When addressing concerns of this conduct person got defensive and hostile.
Will be seeking another health care insurance provider. As of today. May 12thI just joined 2 weeks ago. If this is the pattern now. Why would I want to stay they can call and say what ever. I no longer care my decision is finally due to the conduct of humana
Himana sucks Hadden loopholes that they don't tell you about and when you make a claim they say denied because it's notcovered your representative told me I'm covered bull$#*! coverage never use humana
I've submitted several claims, several times over the past few months. When I call in, no one sees the claims. So then after being passed around from employee to employee, someone finally gives me their personal office fax number and verifies that they received the claims, again. After a few weeks go by, I try to check on the claim status. They are non existent! So I go through the same process 2 more times. Mind that each time takes over an hour of being transferred around and having to tell the whole story again and again. This is the worst insurance company I've ever "tried" to work with in my whole 47 years on earth! The employees obviously don't know what they are doing, and neither does the management!
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, unless you just like wasting hours of your life on the phone and paying premiums for doing it...
Their representitves would tell you any lies to just sell their insurance, after you buy they say your plan is not eligible for what you ask for in first place!
I just want give 5 stars to a especial lady from customer service all the way from brasil i was. Very confuse about my dental & she was very profesional to help me understand my plan so i got all the info i need it keep up the good work Jeremiah good job rowe
Answer: It is just about impossible to speak to anything but a bit and if the bot doesn't like your answers, it just hangs up on you. I finally go into line to speak to an agent. I stayed on the line almost 30 min, then the agent that got on couldn't help me and gave me a other number to call. For this kind of service, I pay over $200 a month?. You can get a medicare advantage plan lots of places for a $0 out of pocket ( besides the $170 the government deducts from my Social Security to give to them) I was paying $61 a month on top of that because I actually believed their hype. Get something else, anything g else
