I ordered a present for my Daughters birthday and we are now 2 weeks from the order being processed and it still hasn't been dispatched. The item was in stock and the I paid for shipping. After enquiring the reason they gave me was "Every order is different and some do take longer than others to pick and pack." A skateboard in-stock takes longer to pick and pack? This is a generic scripted response with no customer service attributes.
Hobby Warehouse did offer a refund but I think after waiting two weeks and my daughters birthday is in 3 days it's absolutely pointless as nowhere else will not get it delivered on time... I'll just have to wait and let her know.
I ordered a new hull for my DF65 rc yacht. I paid the express shipping only to never receive it and to have some b. S response finally that the product was faulty. I am still waiting on my refund and obviously no refund as of yet!.
Hoping it was a one time thing as they have been good in the past I ordered a hullnin a different colour which like the last was listed as "in stock".
Let's hope this order goes better or I will be contacting consumer affairs (ACCC) TO LODGE A FORMAL COMPALINT.
You go to buy something, you google the product and you see it listed on a website with great reviews, you then go and buy it to just find out that they have closed shop with no explanation.
I payed $20 for express shipping as the product was a gift to a friend, hoping it will get shipped within the next day or two right? WRONG! Its been 4 days now with no email or text regarding shipping.
Ive emailed them a bunch and called them a bunch and tried to reach them via social media YET NOTHING.
They will take your hard earned money and they wont ship the item nor give you an explanation.
Calling does nothing neither does emailing them.
Even with COVID19 going around, i still work in a call centre with more than a hundred employees and we still get work done and customers are happy so COVID19 is no excuse.
FKING FIX YOURSELF HOBBYWAREHOUSE OR ACCC WILL BE IN TOUCH!

Amazing service. We had a small issue with a product for my sons birthday. I sent hw an email and they replied and fixed my issue straight away. I will be ordering every toy from them for now on. Very much appreciated
I've spent thousand with this company over 3 orders, worst customer service I've ever received! Latest order was placed with plenty of time to receive before Easter, all items were "in stock" and I paid an extra $60 for express post. The items have not even been shipped from their warehouse yet! They don't answer the phone... EVER. I've called 25 times and not ever received a call back. They take 2-3 days to reply to emails with "sorry for the inconvenience" your order will be shipped soon. Absolutely pathetic considering I've paid for express shipping and they can't even get their act together in the warehouse! This was an Easter present for my kids! Shocking company
I ordered $465 worth of Lego last week with plenty of time to receive by this weekend for a present. I received an email to say they are putting an small amount of money back to my account to verify its my card all good better to be safe than sorry I kept checking my account for the money which took a few days as soon as it went in I email back with the amount then received an email to say someone would contact me but nothing so I emailed several times and spent a full day calling the 1300 number of the website but no answer no message nothing just kept ringing. Then I get an email saying it's been cancelled due to me not responding with the amount which I did respond as soon as the money went in. Now they have my $465 which was taken out of my bank as soon as I ordered it wasn't pending or anything money taken straight out. Now it's Easter weekend the money has not been returned to my account although they say it was cancelled days ago and there is no way if me now replacing this present. Thanks Hobby Warehouse for turning this time in life even more distressing. I out a post on their Facebook page which they responded to and so did others but then deleted my post so have reposted expecting to be blocked from their page now. 0 rating given
Like other reviews I tried to ring this company ( Good luck with that one, number just rings out.) Tried contacting via email to be led around in circles, 10 emails later. My product purchased was faulty. You know that feeling when you know they are B... S... to you. Returned the item back to them, waited till I had an email from Australia. Post saying item had been delivered back to Hobby warehouse. I Spoke to Hobby warehouse same day to be told I would receive Full refund. Why was I getting a bad Gut Feeling? I then rang Pay Pal told them the full story. That very same day Pay Pal contacted Hobby
Warehouse to be told they had not received my parcel back yet, more lies. Thank God I paid with Pay Pal. Pay Pal have refunded me in Full.
Placed order on 6th December, and paid for express shipping.
16 th December, I tried to call as had no reply to my email.
Finally got a reply to find out my sons Christmas present had not even left their warehouse.
'Apologize for inconvenience ' was all I received. Yet no notice yet as to when my "express" order will arrive or even if it will be here for Christmas.
Terrible, terrible service.
I have never put in review like this on anything before. But the lack of care or response to even get my Christmas presents is just not there.
They sold me items they didn't have in stock and then told me they are back ordered. Three months later they have not refunded nor sent me the items. Customer service is the worst they are not helpful and offer nothing in compensation
Paid for Express post and never got it. No replies from company to 4 emails about what happened to my order. Sorry i ever used them now.
I've found the whole experience of dealing with Hobby Warehouse to be excellent. Their price was the lowest I could find for the item (even compared with places like Big W), delivery was quick, product was exactly as described and when the product unfortunately turned out to have a defect (not Hobby Warehouse's fault), their representative - whose name I recognise here as he is diligently responding to other reviews! - worked with me to try to work out what the problem might be and then provided a label for me to print out so I could send the item back for free to have him inspect it himself and see if he could repair it. I really cannot fault the service or the experience of dealing with Hobby Warehouse and would buy from them again any day.
Very poor. Item not as described. Big difference between leather and china plastic. Just found the same item on Ebay for 1 3rd the price.
Very sarcastic * the person I've been emailing. They are making it extremely hard for me to send the item back.
The packaging it came in needs to be in good condition to achieve a refund.
The ACCC says different. It does not. My packaging is fair.
They have sent me a link it print of a label to attach to the box it was delivered in. The link does not work. Also i dont own a printer.
And i need to enclose a letter about the item.
Then i need to take it to the post office.
I've tried to call the 1300 number that doesn't work either.

Very trustworthy and totally recommended.
I had my order (Lego helicarrier from Marvel for a birthday present) at home in 6 days after ordering, very fast, notifications each time the order was received, shipped and tracking options on text messages on my phone.
Very well packed, perfect conditions at arrival, all pieces were complete. Everything as descfribed.
It even had a little discount comparing to other websites.
Would definitely order from them again. I also reviewed them on trustpilot.
It was an easy transaction, great service, super fast delivery... Price was competitive. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Buying big sets of Lego can be expensive! It was great to find that Hobby Warehouse had what I needed at a better price than local, with free delivery! I was shocked (with delight) to find I ordered on a Tuesday morning and had delivery Wednesday morning. Though I am sure it may not always be that quick, it was great given I am in a regional area and means I have the set ready for a special double-digit birthday. Product is packaged well.

Answer: They are part of the toys r us family, they are somewhat legit but all items are basically the same as toys r us and there customer service and refund policy is just as shady
