At checkout, they do, in fact, mention that by purchasing the soulmate sketch for $1 (or however much), you're agreeing to a trial period, after which you get charged $29.99/month. The shady part is they don't send a "subscription confirmation email."

So if you try to dispute the charge with your bank, they will eventually deny it, as Hint DOES clearly indicate subscription - both on their home page and at checkout.

If you still decide you want to purchase a soulmate sketch, but don't want to subscribe, get a single-use card from a service like Privacy (12 free single-use cards per month).

Do NOT use it. I signed up for the cheap $1 free trial, and cancelled it immediately so I wouldn't get charged again after 7 days. Guess what? I got charged. When I tried to dispute with them and cancel, I couldn't get into the cancellation portal because it wouldn't recognize my email address... BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY CANCELLED. Annoying mess, now I have to deal with the bank to dispute yet another fraudulent act on my account. Just don't use this. Ever.

They are misleading you. I never signed up for a trial subscription and even deleted my credit card information from my payments in my profile because I didn't trust them. They still accessed my deleted information and charged me a subscription renewal fee even though I had clearly not signed up. They are also in violation of the "click to cancel" ruling by the FTC in October 2024. When I reached out, I'm told they have a no refund policy. Well, I have a no break the law policy myself, so I've reported them to the FBI Cyber Crimes (IC3), the FTC and the better business bureau in addition to my bank. Obviously they don't care, but hopefully someone else will have ethics and support what is right when it comes to scam companies that need to mislead you to steal money instead of offering a product with value instead.

I signed for a subscription on Dec 17th and Cancelled it Dec 25th 2024 got proof of cancellation email but they never cancelled it and waited til Feb 05th 2025 and then March 09th 2025 to charge me when I sent proof of cancellation they told me I opted out of free subscription. Even after I sent them a copy of email I received saying sorry to see me go subscription cancelled. And I also sent them a copy of their billing policy saying I can cancel anytime without being billed.

Do not go near hint app. Unauthorized charges and the worst support team. Cancellations are not real. You still get charged until you block your card.

The app appears as a trial for 0.52$ but immediately after it charges 69.98$ as a full on monthly subscription. You cannot get a refund, even if you mention you are not happy with their app, and they just plainly refuse any kind of refund. Also, if you are not careful and you don't manage to cancel your subscription in a timely manner, they will keep on charging you forever. Make sure you block payments towards them from your card.

This service is a scam. They take your money without providing the promised service, and canceling is nearly impossible. Even after attempting to cancel, payments continue to be taken from your account. You'll likely need to contact your bank to block these payments, but frustratingly, they may still find ways to charge you until you block them again. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give it a 0 star I would. What a joke! Total scam and I'm smart enough to have realized but unfortunately didn't until it was too late. I signed up for a 'free' trial but as I'm navigating the check out process, one pop up after another comes up and apparently I selected an additional add-on for $49.99. BIG lesson learned here. When I tried to cancel, the chat box was impossible. I had to email a human in customer service who promptly got back to me and basically said sorry about your luck, you chose the add on and there are no refunds. I explained once then again about how difficult it was to check out of the 'free' trial but clearly they got what they wanted which was scamming people out of money. Again, huge lesson learned. Do not be taken advantage of! RUN AWAY!

This is a scam, I subscribed to a 52p trial and they took £48 straight out of my account. They are refusing to refund this, even though I haven't even accessed it and contacted them straight away,
